Abstract

Candlestick chart is one of the charts which is commonly used in technical analysis. Besides for price overview in the past, this chart has patterns that can be analysed to become guidance about next price movement. There are some patterns with specific name in candlestick chart analysis. This paper discusses candlestick chart patterns in the EUR/USD currency pair within daily time frame. The observation shows that candlestick chart patterns indeed gave more guidance about trend changes. Although the candlestick patternsdid not show everyday, in most cases the patterns gave right guidance.

Abstract

This paper contributes to the existing literature by exploring the relationship of creativity, leadership, and innovation on competitive advantage; and explores the connection between creativity, leadership, and innovation. Research used literature review method as a systematic search of published works to find out what is already known about the intended research. Every company that wants to survive in the global market must have vehicles, like creativity and innovation. Beside, managing effectively to create sustainable competitive advantage needs leadership because leaders are central to the process of creating culture, systems, and structure that foster creativity and innovation.

Abstract

The goal of the research was to evaluate the effectiveness of Kirkpatrick model and Return on Investment of Training at PT XYZ. Observation was applied to this research. The result has shown several facts such as trainee’s feedback score was 4,62 above 4,10 as required by the company in terms of reaction, the average final exam score was 3,66 above 3,00 as required by the company in terms of learning, the trainees’ superiors’ feedback score was 3,53 above 3,00 as required by the company and Return on Investment of Training (ROI-Training) was 58,88% above 15% as required by the company. With these results, the company can conclude that the program is effective in nurturing its supervisory leaders.

Abstract

Life Insurance B is a company engaging in the services of people protection. Evaluation of accounting information system which relates with the customer claims payments made by the company has the objective to identify the weaknesses in the system of disbursement procedures and to provide the new recommendations. In doing the research, the author conducted literature research and field research. Fieldwork was conducted in order to obtain accurate and real data. Based on the research, writers found some weaknesses in the payment process customer claims, including the claim that the document is not to be numbered prints, the differences in the status of the policy and double claim status. There are weaknesses in the control applications such as sequence check, check and reasonable limits, total control check, which have not been applied to the company as well. In the company’s report, there has been no report on the problems that occur in a given period. To overcome these weaknesses, writers suggest a new document in the form of proposals that have been accompanied by a serial number printed. Should the company implement a weekly batch system with a view to have the latest report from branches every week, not every month. And finally the employees should make report any problems that occur in the company, so that problems that occur can be easily monitored by the authorities.

Abstract

Tick Mechanism was included in market microstructure. It studied the process which investors’ latent demands were ultimately translated into prices and volumes. This research reviewed the theoretical, empirical, and experimental literature on market microstructure relating to return, volatility, and liquidity after implementation of new tick size in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The study took a sample of Kompas 100 index because it was represented all level of tick size at IDX. The data were analyzed using differences test with analysis tools e-views. Using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, there were not significance difference of volatility, return, and liquidity after the implementation of new tick size. The difference of implementation new tick size were contrary results that old tick size has a positive value to return and liquidity while it was negative for volatility. It means that increasing of liquidity and return have the impact to volatility. While the implementation of new tick size has the negative impact to return, liquidity, and volatility.

Abstract

This paper develops a conceptual framework for intended study which will examine the role of intrepreneurship in building cultural competitiveness in Higher Education (HE). Intrapreneurship (entrepreneurship within existing organizations) is used on organizational level. Previous study argued that four variables of Cultural Competitiveness (entrepreneurship, innovativeness, market orientation, and organizational learning) had a direct effect on organizational performance. Meanwhile, the other study argued that Intrapreneurship had a direct effect on organizational performance. The effect of the four market-based elements (intrapreneurship, market orientation, innovativeness and organizational learning) on performance will be examined by testing two alternative analytical models in different types of higher education institutions. The size and age of HE institutions are also considered as the interactive elements that might be different across different HE institutions. Testing two alternative models in developing countries will support whether the generalizability of the two alternative models and the constructs used in different country setting is acceptable.

Abstract

This research investigated the effect of business climate on operations of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. Specifically, the aims were to identify the various business climates affecting SMEs, examine how business climates affects sales turnover of SMEs, and evaluate the effect of business climate on Total Factor Productivity (TFP) of SMEs in Nigeria. The research utilized secondary data collected from 2.783 registered businesses in all sectors. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation. It reveals that majority of SMEs experience one constraints or another as a major obstacle which includes inadequate electricity supply (53,22%) and access to finance (15,74%). Inferential statistics such as Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) indicated that labour (0,9943; P < 0,05) and infrastructure (0,7133; P < 0,05) are the only significant variables to sales turnover. Meanwhile,  the regression analysis shows that raw material, labor, infrastructure and fixed cost are the variables that have a strong predicted variance in TFP at P < 0,05 with p-value of 0,000. Water is also observed to be significant at P < 0,1 with p-value of 0,087.

Abstract

PT. DEF is a company engaged in the trading and distribution of food and frozen vegetables to customers in several restaurants and hotels in the big cities in Java. The problems faced by the company based on the results of observations made relating to revenue and inventory due to lack of internal controls in the company are because of the duplication of functions between the accounting and finance, many expired items should be disposed of and affect the companys earnings, collection of accounts receivable which resulted to financial turnaround interrupted, the data inventory is not accurate and complete so that the companys customer service to be less than satisfactory, and the problem of delay in making financial statements. The research method used in this study is data collection method which includes literature and field studies, analysis of findings, identifying the problems and the needs of information, and analysis method on object-oriented approach. The revenue accounting information systems and computerized inventory are expected to help the company run its operations, implement of internal controls within the company better, and overcome all the problems.

Abstract

Article is forecasting comparative analysis of number of guess room occupancy at Karlita International Hotel, Tegal, Central Java using 11 forecasting methods: linear regression, moving average, weighted moving average, exponential smoothing, exponential smoothing with trend, naïve method, trend analysis, additive decomposition – CMA, additive decomposition – average all, multiplicative decomposition – CMA, multiplicative decomposition – average All. Article used 17 data from January 2012 to Mei 2013, and results after using those 11 methods were the smallest MAD is 101.69 and the smallest MSE is 15,163.95. From additive decomposition – average all method, data showed guess room occupancy forecast at Karlita International Hotel for June 2013 is 960 guess.

Abstract

This article was written to find out whether there were any differences on brand image for each online chat Application such as Blackberry Messenger, Whatsapp, and LINE based on six factors of the brand image which are: benefits, attributes, cultures, values, personality, and user. Data for the research were collected from questionnaires given to respondents who had used each mention online chat application. Then each respondent was asked to give scores based on the six factors of brand image for each online chat Application. Using the ANOVA method for testing the differences between brand images for each online chat application. The result reveales that there are differences in the brand image between BlackBerry Messenger, Whatsapp, and LINE for benefits, cultures, and values. There is no difference in attributes, and personality cannot be tested. The company that creates online chat application are expected to improve their brand image to distinguish one another differently.
