Binus Business Review is an international journal published in March, July, and November hosted by the Research and Technology Transfer Office (LPPM) of Universitas Bina Nusantara. The journal contents are managed by the Binus Business School, Faculty of Economics and Communications, and Forum Manajemen Indonesia (FMI). BBR has been accredited by DIKTI under the decree number 158/E/KPT/2021. BBR provide a forum for lecturers, academicians, researchers, practitioners, and postgraduate students to publish empirical multidiscipline research in business & management research, from operations to corporate governance and marketing. All empirical methods including, but not limited to, qualitative, quantitative, field, laboratory, meta-analytic, and mixed methods are welcome.

Abstract

PT Aqua Golden Mississippi is a company that plans to go private, but until today have not obtained approval from the shareholders. Failure may be caused from several things: the company offer price is too small, no quorum, shares held is still profitable for shareholders, and other factors. The existence of the company's plan to go private would affect the performance of the company stock. Stock performance can be analyzed with - average rate of profit, the level of risk, and sensitivity to the stock exchange. The method used in the calculation of stock performance in this paper is the GMR, STDEV, CAPM, and DDM for the calculation of estimated stock price. Through the conducted analysis, investors / shareholders are encouraged to pay attention to the news and information related to go private to be conducted by the company, stock performance, and perform estimate calculations. This is to find out what the right decision for private investors.

Abstract

The success of an organization comes from the ability of employees to meet performance standards that have been made by the management of operational activities to be running well. Therefore, knowing how well the employee's performance is a must for the management. A tool used to determine how well the employee's performance is by conducting a performance appraisal. The performance evaluation is one tool used by hotels or other business types to evaluate the performance of employees and also as a tool to motivate the employee. With a good performance assessment will produce a form of accurate data regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the employees and also will motivate employees to perform their tasks.

Abstract

Educational institution as a provider of skilled manpower in the tourism industry is the focus of the research field of tourism. Education was instrumental in creating quality human resources. Education in the teaching process can be interpreted as a process of creating a quality resource. Today many emerging institutions or educational institutions have a similar goal, promoting competition in terms of absorption of students with the advanced system of teaching, facilities and quality teachers. Students as customers of the educational institution require the services here in the form of reciprocal teaching with payments to educational institutions. Students can stay in one educational institution if the service of educational institutions provides benefits to student functions.

Abstract

Spa industry has been growing quite fast in many parts of the world, including Indonesia. The prospect of spa business is still very positive and wide open. There are many varieties of spas offered, such as day spas, hotel-based spas, resort spas and destination spas. Regardless of the type of spa, most spa operators provide massage and nutrition related services. GY Spa, one of the best spa operators in Jakarta offers several spa packages which include body massage, body treatment, body scrub, face massage and aromatheraphy. This research aims to find the correlation between the demographic segmentation and the consumer satisfaction towards the spa packages in GY Spa. Based on the research, it is found that education, occupation and nationality have no correlation toward the consumer satisfaction, while age and gender shown to have correlation. Female and the younger customers are more satisfied with the spa packages offered by GY Spa.

Abstract

Wedding is one of the most important and beautiful thing in a human life, they want that happen only once in their lifetime, that’s why they aren’t mind if they have to spend lot of money to have an unforgettable wedding. For some of Indonesian, wedding party is often considered as someone social status acknowledgement. Wedding party is the one of High Involvement service, that is when a consumer have spent a huge of money and they want the best service as a return. Through Ethnography, segmentation for a Wedding Organizer’s consumer will be described very well and clearly, so that the best service will be delivered to the correct consumer.

Abstract

Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) has made the Entrepreneurship course (2 credits) to be compulsory subjects for all majors at Bina Nusantara University since 2004. In this course students are taught practical concepts in business. Teaching methods applied is by using a coaching model. With the above methodology, there are some results from those activities which affect the output of the work in diverse, where some activity is evident from the observation that results in some groups, forms of activity is still regarded by students as more than just a class assignment and therefore a burden. But in some groups, forms of activities are carried out with enthusiasm. In some groups also type of activities are not well responded either by the team in their group.

Abstract

PT Inti Dufree Promosindo is a subsidiary of PT Sona Topas Tourism Industry, Tbk. The company is one of the biggest retail companies that sell local and imported products. This business is also called duty free shop. PT. Inti Dufree Promosindo have problems in evaluate the infuence of the effectiveness of its internal audit function towards sales internal control due to large number of sales transactions occurred. The research result shows that the auditor competence and audit process variable have low but significant influence to sales internal control effectiveness (Coefficient determination 22.7%), and so that the audit process variable that have low but significant influence to sales internal control effectiveness (Coefficient determination 36.8%). However, the combination of the two variables tested with linear regression shows that both variables simultaneously have strong influence to sales internal control effectiveness. Based on the result of multiple linier regression analysis the determination coefficient is 47, 4%. This shows that auditor competence and audit process simultaneously have a significant effect in supporting internal sales control effectiveness.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify financial ratios, to analyse the relation among the financial ratios, and to compare financial ratios of PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk., PT Semen Gresik (Persero), Tbk., dan PT Holcim Indonesia, Tbk. The research method is qualitative, descriptive research, with the research time dimention using time series. The research depth is using the three industrial cement companies that listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEJ). The gathering data method is by indirect contact like archive data.

Abstract

Universities as an organization are always influenced by the dynamic external environment, in both national and global levels. Therefore, in order to maintain its competitiveness for its sustainability, the role of university as the center of knowledge and science, as well as the center of research and of Community Service shall continue to be competitive and ensure their sustainability growth. The purpose of this paper is an in depth study of factors influencing the competitiveness of universities in Indonesia. The method used in this work is using the review of the literature (studies Reader). Literature Review is intended to solve a problem which is basically based on the critical and comprehensive review of the relevant collection materials. Based on the study found that the aspects of leadership while Higher Education as a driving force to attempt the power of competitiveness strengths in order to escalate in the competition areas, and obtain results of competition result as expected by both terms based on students quality and quantity, adequate earning income, social and cultural attributes to the organizational image building.

Abstract

Customers are the main key for persistence of a company. The company could arrange old customers and attract new customers, as marketing event. Marketing is one component in customer relationship management. Marketing today has become a trend in doing promotion, increase new customers to expand target market, and maintain old customer loyalty to increase the company sales’ point volume. Supported by appropriate information technology, marketing event could be changed as events that give benefit to the company. Marketing event with information technology, e-marketing, is done to increase company image. After being analysed, this e-marketing strategy will be implemented to rental company.
