Abstract

The Effect of Organic Mulch Types on Growth and Production of Ground Peanuts. The condition of agricultural land in Bali which is starting to decrease due to the conversion of land to non-agricultural purposes has resulted in land optimization being urgently needed so that food needs can still be fulfilled. Land optimization can be carried out on potential dry lands and which have not been widely developed. In Bali, Subak Abian is an area to develop agriculture in dry land but mostly to obtain perennial plants produce so there are no many annual plants are cultivated. Based on this, to meet the needs of food diversification can be carried out by optimizing the dry land, introducing ground peanuts as annual crop and using the application of mulch as an alternative method of overcoming water problems in dry land. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of applying organic mulch on growth and yield ground peanuts in dry lands. This research was conducted at Subak Abian Tirta Taman Sari Tanah Ayu, Sibang Gede Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency, Bali and several variables were carried out at the Laboratory of Agronomy and Horticulture and Soil Environment Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. This study used randomized block design with organic mulch treatment consisting of three levels, M0, M1, M2. The results showed ground peanuts on the M2 treatment significantly gave the highest yield to the variable number of pods (17,61 pods), fresh stover weight (194,72 g) and dry stover weight (46,62 g).

Abstract

Monitoring The Conversion of Rice Fields and Mapping The Status of Farmers in Subak Kerdung and Subak Cuculan, Denpasar City. Subak Kerdung and Subak Cuculan are subaks that are included in the Green Open Space area of ??Denpasar City. The designation of this two subak as an open space areas for Denpasar City does not reduce the land conversion level. Therefore, it is necessary to have more protection by determining the area for Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (SFAL). Based on Government Regulation No. 25 of 2012, the preparation of SFAL needs to be equipped with a database, some of which are data on human resources and farmer status. This study aims to create a map of land-use change (2012-2021), a map of the distribution pattern of farmer status, and a human resources database. This study uses image analysis methods as well as surveys and mapping. The research stages include literature study, interpretation of satellite imagery, field surveys, image reinterpretation, and mapping and preparation of information systems. The results showed that for nine years, there was a conversion of 66.61 ha in Subak Kerdung and 22.62 ha in Subak Cuculan. The number of farmers in Subak Kerdung is 133 people, 121 people are sharecroppers with a total land area of ??93.2 (91.75%), and 18 people are owner farmers with a total land area of ??8.47 ha (8.25%). The number of farmers in Subak Cuculan was 24 people; 22 were sharecroppers with a total land area of ??7.43 ha (84.24%). Owner farmers opened two people with a total arable area of ??1.39 ha (15.76%). Farmers in Subak Kerdung and Subak Cuculan dominate the productive age (31-60 years). The average size of land cultivated by farmers in Subak Kerdung is 0.76 ha/person, and in Subak Cuculan is 0.36 ha/person. The results of this study are expected to be used by the Denpasar city government as a basis for evaluating and enforcing the law and as a reference for determining SFAL in Subak Kerdung and Subak Cuculan.

Abstract

Agricultural Commodity Land Suitability and Geospatial-Based Land Use Planning in Malaka District, East Nusa Tenggara. Data and information on land suitability classes for various plant commodities must be available in Malaka District on a geospatial basis so that they are easily accessible. The technology used is a geographic information system (GIS). The aims of this study were to: (1) obtain land characteristics for land suitability classes, (2) map actual and potential land suitability classes, (3) land use plans based on land suitability, (4) provide a land suitability information system. This research was conducted in two sub-districts in Malaka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The analysis carried out in this study included: physiographical analysis, field surveys, soil analysis in the laboratory, land suitability analysis, making land suitability maps and land use planning maps, building a geospatial-based land suitability information system. The actual land suitability class for food crops, horticulture and plantations is classified as marginal suitable (S3wa1wa2wa3rc3na1na2na3eh1eh2Ip1) to unsuitable (Nwa2xc) limiting rainfall, dry months, humidity, effective depth, N-total, P2O5, K2O, salinity, slope, erosion hazard and rocks surface. Improvement efforts include tillage, fertilizing urea, phonska, KCl, making drainage channels, setting planting times, making ponds and making bench terraces. Potential land suitability classes are very suitable (S1), moderately suitable (S2wa1wa2rc3xceh1eh2Ip1) to marginally suitable (S3wa2) limiting rainfall, dry months, effective depth, salinity, slope, erosion hazard and surface rocks. West Malaka and Central Malaka Districts first priority in flat areas to develop corn, cassava, cashew nuts, green beans, shallots, tomatoes and watermelons as an alternative. Whereas in the Central Malaka District, the hilly relief is more suitable for coconut, cocoa and cashew plantations and the karst hill relief is an alternative for the development of corn, cassava, green beans, shallots, tomatoes and watermelons.
