Abstract

Technological advances offer new breakthroughs that are more effective and efficient, including in terms of construction methods. One of the breakthroughs is the steel construction of pre-engineering buildings. This study aims at calculating how much tonnage efficiency in steel construction pre-engineering building when compared to conventional steel construction. This research methodology starts from collecting secondary data from one of Commuter Line Station Project in Jakarta City, then modeling conventional steel construction using ETABS software. The results are analyzed by manual structural calculations. After that, quantity takeoff is undertaken towards conventional steel construction and pre-engineering building. The total tonnage for pre-engineering steel construction is 203.45 tons while the total tonnage for conventional steel construction is 346.48 tons. The efficiency of steel construction pre-engineering building is 41.25%.

Abstract

Based on the land use of the city of Palembang in the Sematang Borang sub-district, there are still catchment areas or swamp areas which are areas that must continue to be considered regarding water resources. The Semang Borang area is currently still in the safe category in the catchment area, but based on the structure of the spatial pattern, the area is in the medium housing category. This study aimed to 1) analyze land use and river network in Sematang Borang District, 2) analyze areas that have the potential to be inundated by tidal floods in Sematang Borang District, 3) analyze the area of land use affected by flood inundation in Sematang Borang District. This study applied survey method and data recapitulation obtained through secondary data from several agencies related to flooding and the River Basin in the Borang River, Sematang Borang District, Palembang City. Based on the results of the analysis of land use maps and river network systems, there are still swamps or open spaces that can be used as water catchments. The magnitude of the potential flood inundation can be observed through a map based on a field inventory with 14 inundation locations. Based on the calculation of rain with a 2-year period of conditions, the river catchment area is still in a safe condition. However, the period 5,10,25,50,100 is in the category of flood hazard. The land area based on the analysis of the area affected by the flood is 845 ha or 8.45 km or 23% of the area of Sematang Borang District of 36.97 km. The factors that affect the height of inundation or flooding in the upstream and downstream areas in terms of land geography, land structure, and drainage system are changes in land use from swamp to medium housing.

Abstract

The collapse of the banks of the Dondang river at the BLC2 project site of PT. Kutai Energi caused the barge to not dock and the conveyor to be unusable. One of the causes of landslides is changes in river water levels which cause the soil around the river banks to become saturated and unstable. The research begins with a survey and data collection related to the research location. Analysis using GeoStudio (Slope/W) 2012 software was carried out with two models, namely when the river water level is normal and when the river water level is in a flooded condition. The results of the analysis show that the critical condition occurs in the second condition where the river water level is in a flood condition. In these conditions, it is known that in the existing condition of the slope without reinforcement, the value of safety number (SF) = 1.125 is obtained. On the other hand, when the pile reinforcement is given, the slope safety score increases to 1.741 which indicates that the plaster can overcome the sliding on the cliff due to the influence of the river water level

Abstract

Infrastructure Improvement which is located on Jl.Tumbang Talaken - Jl.Tumbang Jutuh with a length of 40,920 meters and a distance of 141 km to the capital city of Palangka Raya. The condition of the remote location and the fluctuating price of diesel fuel will require large costs. While around the project is an oil palm plantation and the waste is piling up. If left untreated, palm shell waste will have a negative impact and cause disease, by utilizing palm shell waste as a dryer heater in Hotmix production as a substitute for diesel fuel with the hotmix production cost efficiency analysis method on AMP so that it can reduce production costs in the project. The results of the analysis of validity and reliability show that production by gasifying palm shell waste is feasible to replace diesel fuel. The results of the BEP analysis, that the use of shells as a substitute for diesel fuel has great potential to reduce production costs, when hotmix production is at a volume of 3,826 tons. So, with a planned hotmix production volume of 22,667 tons, it is feasible to procure or invest in shell combustion equipment. Suggestions from this study that replacing dryers with palm shell waste material as a substitute for diesel fuel can be done if the road infrastructure development project is around oil palm plantations, because in addition to being able to reduce hotmix production costs on AMP it is also an environmentally friendly waste management because it has no impact negative on the environment. If the project is not located in the vicinity of an oil palm plantation, then the use of palm shell waste as a substitute for diesel fuel needs to be further researched because the efficiency value will be different

Abstract

Rigid pavement work on the XYZ Road Construction Project experienced a problem, namely the occurrence of cracks in the rigid pavement structure above the box culverts under which soil improvement was carried out using embankment soil. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that cause settlement of the embankment that causes the rift of the rigid pavement structure on box culverts built on embankment soil so that the results can be used as a reference for handling or repairing rigid pavement work on box culverts with a structure piled up soil in subsequent segments. From the results of the analysis it can be seen that the process of casting rigid pavement was carried out at two points, namely Point 1 and Point 2 where after casting the rigid pavement, the subgrade beneath it still experienced a decrease of 10 mm and 6 mm. This decline occurred for up to 3 months and caused cracks in the rigid pavement structure above it. This is due to the difference in settlement of the box culvert which was initially assumed not to have decreased again with the surrounding embankment which was still experiencing settlement. In addition, the results of the analysis show that the rigid pavement design uses a single reinforcement so that the capacity of the concrete (Mu) is less than the weight of the concrete itself which causes the concrete to crack.

Abstract

Replacing the floor covering from carpet with vinyl is an effort to increase the comfort of room users and the effectiveness of carrying out maintenance. However, the use of vinyl and carpet as floor coverings for hotel rooms has an influence on thermal comfort. So it is necessary to analyze the effect of using vinyl and carpet as floor coverings on thermal comfort in hotel rooms. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. This research is in the form of measuring temperature, humidity, and lighting in rooms 204, 206, 222, and 224 Hotel Grasia Semarang. Rooms with vinyl floor coverings tend to be comfortable in the morning (-0,5 ≤ PMV value ≤ +0,5), during the day the thermal comfort can worsen (if PMV value ≤ -0,5 or PMV value ≥ +0,5), and in the afternoon tend to be comfortable. While rooms with carpet floor coverings in the morning tend to be comfortable, during the day

Abstract

In the road planning, one of the parameters needed is the value of California Bearing Ratio (CBR). the value of CBR is used as a parameter to determine the condition of the subgrade. The study was conducted to determine the CBR value and the percentage of the subgrade bearing capacity criteria on the MambrukKadamber road, Fakfak Regency, West Papua. The method used in this study is a field survey using a Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) on a 1,9 km long track and divided every 50 meters so that the number of test points is 40 points, then the test data are analyzed using the PUPR and Kleyn methods. From the results of the analysis, the largest CBR value is 31,43% and the smallest 4,66% if analyzed using the PUPR method and when using the Kleyn method the largest CBR value is 22,23% and the smallest 3,51% with the avarege difference between both method is 3,27%. It is also known that as many as 10% of points still have poor soil bearing capacity criteria
