Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to solve the students difficulties to understand buffer conceps by applying Cooperative learning model types of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) through class action research. The study was established in A’s eleventh class of 1’s Senior High School Labuan Amas Selatan. The first cycle was conducted in 3 actions and 1 action on the second cycle. The quantative and qualitative data got from this research including student’s achievement, student’s responses of the models and observational sheet. Research showed that there were no students pass the passing grade over on the pre test. While on the first cycle, there were 44,44% students pass the passing grade over. From the reflection of the first cycle it was found that students have difficulties both in solving buffer solution pH questions and explaining its use in dailiy life. Evaluation of the second cycle showed that 96,42% students passed the passing grade over. Obviously, STAD model is convinced to be able to increase student’s understanding in buffer solution concept. Affective assessment showed that 85,71% of students agree and extremely agree with the statement about STAD makes students understanding to the concept easier and improving student’s achievement, also they have a high interest to learn buffer solution concept. It was also found that there were 92,87% are active and very active in learning activities.Key words: cooperative learning model, buffer solution.

Innovation can be carried out from the educational process or the input and output aspects. One of their indicators is implementing of appropriate instruction model in teaching and learning process and educational research. Abstract

Abstract: This research intended to study the effect of individual instruction to the development of student creativity in physics. Different from classical instruction in which teachers assume that all students have the same ability, maturity and the same rate of learning, on individual instruction it is considered that students have their own ability, intelegence, talent, personality, and achievement. This study used “post test only control group” design.. From the statistical calculation it was found that t '= 8.43 while t tabel = 2.02 with the real level = 0.05 Since t' does not lie between +2.02 and -2.02 then H0 was rejected so that H1 was accepted. It can be concluded that there were significant differences in creativity scores of the first grade students in 3’s Junior High School Makassar, between students who are taught by classical instruction and students who are taught by individual instructionKey words: individual instruction, creativity in physics

Abstract

Abstract: Implementation of computer-based media at teaching and learning by using Direct Instruction and Collaborative Learning's model (DI-CL) was conducted. This study addresses to find out student’s improvement of cognitive skill, physicomotoric skills, and respon to the DI-CL model via lesson study. This action research class that were invoved 37 students found that the category of student’s acvhiements on designing computer-based media are 25% excelent, 66,7% good, and 8,3% medium. Student’s comprehention increased from 51,36% on the first cycle to 100% on the fourth cycle. Generally, the media quality designed by students in good category. Meanwhile, design, animation, and graphic need to be increased. Students gave a positive respond to the model which implemented in this teaching and learning process. The implementation of DI-CL model improves the students learning autonomy and their capability seen from the organization of ideas, interactivity and efectivity.Key word: Direct Instruction and Collaborative Learning's model, Lesson Study, computer-based media,learning autonomy

Abstract

Abstract: The classroom action research to increase students’ understanding through collaboration between lecturers of chemistry department and chemistry teachers in Siti Mariam’s Madrasah Aliyah Banjarmasin was established. This research intent to increase the eleventh grade students’ achievement of thermo chemistry concept. To increase students’ achievement, one of the learning strategies which can be used is problem solving. Therefore, the hypothesis came up on this research is by using problem solving method, students’ achievement of thermo chemistry shown by their ability to solve thermo chemistry problems can be improved. This study used classroom action research design with two cycles. The twenty eight of the eleventh grade students of Siti Mariam’s Madrasah Aliyah Banjarmasin on 2008/2009 school year were the subject of the research. By using achievement test and percentage as the technique of the data analysis was found that (1) students’ achievement on the initial observation was 30% (2) On the first cycle, students’ achievement increased from 30% to 65%, (3) Students’ achievement improved from 65% on the first cycle to 91% on the second cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the classroom action research on thermo chemistry through problem solving method was successful to increase students’ achievement.Key words: Problem solving approach, thermo chemistry concept.

Abstract

Abstract: This research analyzes teachers’ perception towards the implementation of Teacher Certification Program (TCP) conducted in Indonesia. Next to that, the differences in teachers’ perception between certified and uncertified teachers were also discussed to find whether the difference perception between certified and uncertified teachers exists. To obtain such objectives, a comparative survey research was established. Of 99 randomly selected sample of senior high school teachers in Banjarmasin municipality of South Kalimantan Province of Indonesia who did not follow TCP, failed and passed on portfolio assessment were included in the study. The data was gathered by using a close ended questionnaire with 5 subscales . The descriptive analysis of teachers’ perception of total-TCP- and TCP-subscales showed that teachers have a positive perception of the implementation of TCP. Data analyze by Anova and Kruskal Wallis test showed that no significant differences in teachers perception between three groups of teachers. Besides, teachers gave some positive suggestions for improving the implementation of TCP.Key words: teachers’ perception, teacher certification program, teacher quality.

Abstract

Abstract: The research on thermochemistry class using cooperative learning model types of “two stay two stray” method was conducted. This study aims to find out students 'improvement, affective skills, student’s activities and responses on “two stay two stray” method. This research used class-action-research design with 2 cycles. Subjects were A class of eleventh grade students of 5’s Senior High School Banjarmasin. Totally, there were 34 students involved on this study. Data was collected by using achievement test, questionnaires, and observations. Subsequently, data were analyzed by using percentation technique. The result showed that by using “two stay two stray” method, student’s achievments on thermochemistry improved by 17,98%. On average, student’s outcomes increased from 65,33% on the first cycle to 83,31% on the second cycle. Affective assessment pointed out that the affective skills of students were in good category (85,54%). Students gave positive responds to the model by 89,12%. From the first to the second cycle, student’s activities in the group improved.Key words: cooperative learning, two stay two stray method, thermochemistry.

Abstract

Abstract. Effectiveness of learning cycle instructional model in group investigation setting to improve process quality and learning outcome was investigated. This quasi-experimental study involved students of class X SMAN 1 Banjarbaru of South Kalimantan as a subject. Test instruments were used for measuring students comprehension, learning outcome and concept retension. By using anava, LSD and t-test analysis, this study shows that (1) the quality of learning process in learning cycle- group investigation class (LCGI) is able to create situation where the student learning experience can be tranferred to other students, increased analysis ability and explored students ideas (2) there is significant difference of learning outcome between LCGI and conventional instructional model, and no difference between LC and LCGI (3) LC model and LCGI resulted gain score significantly differ to the conventional model, and gain score of LCGI significanly differs to the LC. Futher more, the LC/LCGI increased the students critical think.Key words: learning cycle, group investigation and retention

Abstract

Abstract: The classroom action research implementing reciprocal instructional model by using internet as a learning source on kinetics reaction concept was conducted. The research purposes are to increase learning outcome, affective ability and student respond to the implementation of reciprocal model. The subject research involved class XI of SMAN 1 Banjarmasin. It was found that student’s comprehention increased from 73,85% at first cycle to 94,62% at second cycle, student’s affective ability in a good category and student’s gave a positive respon to the implementation of reciprocal instructional model at teaching and learning process.Key word : Reciprocal teaching, kinetics reaction, internet

Abstract

Abstract. Implementation of green school instructional model to improve the quality of science teaching and learning at elementary school at South Kalimantan Province was observed. Research subjects ware devided to three groups, namely elementary school at waters area, transition of peat and mountain range area and mountain area. Research data collected concise of learning outcome and learning activity. Then, they were analyzed by using anava and descriptive approach respectively. This research reveals that (1) learning activity of student both at waters area and transition of peat and mountain range area were high, meanwhile at mountain range area and mountain is relatively low (2) teacher role both at waters area and transition of peat and mountain range area were still dominant, meanwhile at mountain range area and mountain is unsufficient (3) threre is significant difference of learning outcome between all the areas (4) and the student reached it at a good level.Key words: science, green school, learning activity, learning outcome
