Abstract

Issues related to the quality of textbooks are often a topic of discussion in science. However, in various education systems, some textbooks have effectively incorporated the nature of science, while others are still lacking in this aspect. It is well-known that the nature of science serves as a crucial foundation that should be applied in science education, especially in physics. This is because the nature of science plays a role as the basis to guide a more holistic learning approach and an exploratory process in understanding knowledge about the natural world. Hence, a study was conducted to analyze physics textbooks to analyze the percentage of nature of science content and describe the proportion of nature of science aspects in high school physics textbooks. The research employed a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research. The quantitative research section involved the development of the theory, including observations and data collection for accuracy. The quantitative research portion explained how to obtain percentage data for the ten aspects of the nature of science under investigation. The study results showed that the textbook published by Grafindo, referred to as Book B, presented the most aspects of the nature of science compared to the other two textbooks. Quotations in Book B were presented explicitly, although some quotations were presented implicitly. Books A and C were found to be less inclusive of the nature of science aspects in the measurement material. The proportion of the appearance of the nature of science in Book A was 33%, in Book B, it was 53%, and in Book C, it was 27%. Overall, all three evaluated textbooks explicitly conveyed aspects of the nature of science. The implications of this research highlight the importance of incorporating the nature of science aspects in science learning materials to enhance understanding of the nature of science, as the nature of science is a complex concept and serves as a fundamental foundation for studying science.

Abstract

The development of a Panting Music learning video in the MBKM Bina Desa Independent Program of FKIP ULM 2022 in Anjir Pasar Kota II Village aims to produce a product in the form of a Panting Music instrument introduction video learning media and describe the feasibility of the developed learning video. The 4D development model includes the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate phases. The researcher employed data collection techniques for this development, including structured observations, unstructured interviews with the village chief, questionnaires systematically distributed to the experts and participants, and documentation in photos to complement the research data. Data analysis was conducted quantitatively and descriptively. The developed media went through stages of validation, with the language validated by a language expert with a "Very Feasible" assessment category at a 95% rating, media validation by a media expert with a "Feasible" assessment category at an 85% rating, and content validation by a subject matter expert with a "Feasible" assessment category at an 80% rating. The next phase involved testing the media with students, resulting in a "Very Feasible" student responses category at a 92% rating, indicating that students could recognize and learn to play the Panting Music instrument.

Abstract

Findings at Hasnur Polytechnic show that some aspects of attitude assessment still do not produce diverse scores. In one class, all students obtained the same grade. This problem arises because there are no guidelines for making observations. This research focuses on building a mobile app so that lecturers can more easily assess each learning session. The research method used as a framework in the development process is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation).  The result of this research is the Vokametri application, built with the Ionic framework for the Android platform. All functions of the application have worked well. Therefore, it can be used by lecturers to conduct KKNI-based attitude observations. This application works offline so that the assessment can be done without being connected to the internet. Lecturers can view student attitude score records and download Excel files that list the attitude scores of all students in a course.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how the group investigation model could be used to improve student learning results in social studies courses. This study was a two-cycle classroom action research study. Six students of class IV from SDN Inti Sungai Miai 11 Banjarmasin participated in this study for the 2020/2021 academic year. Data were collected using observation techniques on implementing lesson plans and student activities and testing on student learning outcomes. The student standard score was ≥ 70, and the expected classical success indicator was 81%-99%. According to the research findings, teacher activity received a score of 90.625 on very good criteria. With practically all active criteria, student activity improved to 85.7%. Individual learning outcomes showed that five students with a classical completeness of 83.33% were nearly entirely complete. Based on these findings, it was possible to conclude that using the Group Investigation model could increase student learning outcomes in social studies courses.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Chembo (Chemical Bond) learning media based on Virtual Mentors to improve student learning outcomes in Science Education on Chemical Bonds. The research method used is research and development with 4D (four-D) design, namely definition, design, development, and deployment. The instruments used in this research were questionnaires and pretest and posttest questions. The results of the study show that the results of material validation by material experts are at number 72 which is in the "Very Eligible" category, while the validation results by media experts are 55, which is in the "Very Eligible" category. The results of students' assessment of the feasibility of learning media were in the "Very feasible" category with a conversion score of 33.82. Data on the results of student responses to chembo learning media get a value of 246.5 which, if converted, will get a value of 4.24 in the "strongly agree" category. Student learning outcomes after using Chembo learning media also experienced an increase seen from the comparison between students' pretest and posttest scores. The average score of students' pretest before using Chembo media was 48.97, while the average posttest score of students after using Chembo media was 80.86. The students' pretest and posttest gain test results scored 0.62 in the "Medium" category. Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that chembo learning media is very feasible to use in supporting the learning process and can improve student learning outcomes, especially in chemical bonding material.

Abstract

Performance assessment is an authentic assessment that can be done with various kinds of assessments such as written assessments, observation, and assignments that can provide better feedback on performance and skills. Learning using STEM-EDP model is a learning that encourage students enggagement and in line with performance assessment. The topic in this lesson is climate change, that is relate with with global issue and suitable for STEM-EDP learning. The purpose of this study was to find out how the performance assesment category of class VII F students at Public Junior Highschool in Samarinda. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The sample of this research was 31 students who were taken by cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were student worksheets and student performance rubrics. The results of the study obtained a process performance value of 78.3 and 78.6 which describes the process performance in the good category. The product performance values are 81.3 and 83.9 which fall into the very good category. The performance of students need to be promoted by more STEM EDP learning especially in junior high school level.
