Abstract

The archaeological study tries to reveal the culture history of the past thought abject that are left behind. The relict of the past basically contain very high historical values, in addiction to the informative values, the artistic values, and religious values. The culture elements of the past being studied in this research includes as small a past of an art work, namely an art sculpture. A research at The Temple of Sibi Agung in Kesian Village Gianyar was conducted by researches from The Centre for Archaeologycal heritage and preservation of Bali on 1992. However, the research was merely an inventory culture heritage in Pura Sibi Agung Kesian Village Gianyar because that are still some aspect that are still not clear. The problem that have been formulated are to know the form, function, meaning, antiquity of Siwa Mahaguru in Sibi Agung Temple Kesian Village Gianyar. The theory being applied in this research in the theory of functions, theory of semiotics, and theory of ritus. The methos that is used to address the issues that have been formulated in this research includes : the first data collection throught observation, interview and book review. The next stage is processing data using analysis of qualitative, analysis of morfology, analysis of econographic , analysis of symbol, analysis of contextual.Results of the analysis of the shape of the statue of Siwa Mahaguru at The Sibi Agung Temple Kesian Village Gianyar shows the variation of the shape of the statue based on the analysis of function, statue of Siwa Mahaguru in the Sibi Agung Temple at Kesian Village Gianyar than as worship of Dewa Siwa statue Siwa Mahaguru also functioned as a means of education. While the meaning of the statue of Siwa Mahaguru at the Sibi Agung Temple at Kesian Village Gianyar meaning believed by local people.

Abstract

Elizabeth Gilberth ialah tokoh utama dalam Memoir Eat, Pray, Love.Pengalaman perjalanan hidup nya selama satu tahun mengunjungi tiga negara yaitu:Italia, India dan Indonesia. Bagaimana budaya dan lingkungan India berpengaruh besarterhadap kepribadiannya, pencarian nya akan adanya Tuhan dan konflik yang dihadapiselama pedalaman dunia spiritual terhadap karakter dan psikologi dari Gilberth.Dalam penulisan naskah skripsi ini digunakan dua teori. Pertama literatureteori, dari Kenney (1966), kedua ialah teori psikologi dari Bernhardt (1953). Kedua teoriini menunjang satu dan yang lain dalam pembahasan karakter dan psikologi Gilbert.Hasil dari analisis ini dimana Gilberth terlahir menjadi lebih baik karena pengaruhlingkungan di India yang spiritual dan suci, dengan mempelajari meditasi Gilberth jugamampu menyeimbangkan diri dengan sadar akan apa diinginkan dan apa yangdibutuhkan, sehingga menjadikan Gilberth lebih matang dan dewasa dalam menjalanihidupnya.

Abstract

Skripsi yang berjudul “Cohesive Device in the Aljazera News Article Entitled Sunny Rebels Seize More Town in Iraq”bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tipe-tipe cohesive device. Data penelitian ini diambil dariAljazera news artikel. Artikel ini dipilih untuk menjadi sumber data karena artikel ini disusun dalam bahasa inggris dan melalui proses editing yang berhubungan dengan penelitian ini. Teori utama yang digunakan untuk mengklasifikasikan cohesive device adalah teori cohesive device yang diusulkan oleh Halliday dan Hassan (1976). Selain teori utama tersebut juga dilengkapi dengan teori Nunan (2009) sebagai teori penguat Ada tiga jenis cohesive device yang ditemukan di dalam penelitian ini: reference, conjunction, and repetition. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Aljazera news artikel yang berjudul “Sunny Rebels Seize more Town in Iraq” sudah memenuhi syarat sebagai artikel yang bagus melalui proses-proses editing dan drafting sebelum diterbitkan

Abstract

Abstract Serangan coast area is now changed because reclamation project by the developer company that willing to build the international tourism area but isn’t happen. These matter makes Serangan’s people participate on the rehabilitation for the coastal area with coral conservation project by Karya Segara coastal fisherman gruop.There are many interest point we could see in Karya Segara coastal fisherman group on their participation for coral conservation. Such as: the reason why they do that, what kind of activity they do, and the result or effect of their participation. The reason why this fisherman group do the coral conservationis because the change of coastal condition that was came from outside and inside the Serangan community. The other reason is the support from the government and non government organization, the social awareness about coastal conservation for the live resources, and the last is from Balinese culture concept about Tri Hita Karana. Karya Segara coastal fisherman group try to rehabilitation the coastal environment by doing the coral transplantation project. More over, they educate people in Serangan how to do coral transplantation, collaborate the tourism activity with conservation (ecotourism) and cooperate with the government organization and commercial company to engage social responsibility. The result or effect of their participation are: 2,5 hectare of coral area, ecotourism activity utilize pontoon, the change of social behavior, employement oppurtinity and also the Kalpataru award on 2011 for save the environment categories from Indonesian government.

Abstract

Piag?m Kesultanan Palembang is one of the cultural heritage ini Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu province. This inscription issued by one of the Kanjeng Sultan during administration Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam in 1729 ?aka (1807 AD). This study aims to describe the result of study on the inscription of Piag?m Kesultanan Palembang related to the aspects of language and social institutions contained in Piag?m Kesultanan Palembang. The data collection methods applied in this research were observation , interviews, and literature studies as well as data processing method through Countextual and qualitative analysis. The Theories that is use is structuralism theories.Based on the analysis results it could be seen that the paleography aspect Piag?m Kesultanan Palembang used the script of shift Javanese and language. The spelling used was the spelling which had evolved in the past. The affixation types used in this Piag?m Kesultanan Palembang were : prefix: ka-, in-, a- and Confix: a – k?n. The aspects of social institutions mentioned in Piag?m Kesultanan Palembang namely political institutions which included the central level bureacucracy in which the supreme power was held by the Sultan. Legal institutions is also found in Piag?m Kesultanan Palembang that mentioned about states debts and receivables regulation, tribute payment, trading, the law of theft, fine of murder, in the event of prisoners escaping, treasure discoveries, and the people who become the slave in the Abdi Da?m Kesultanan.

Abstract

This study is aimed to identify the types of noun form of address and describing the function of noun form of address applied in the movie. The data of this study was taken from a movie entitled 21 Jump Street as the primary data. The data was collected by documentation method and note taking technique. A qualitative method was used to analyze the data. It means the data was described based on theories applied in this study. The theory proposed by Braun was used to analyze the types of noun form of address. Whereas, the theory proposed by Brown and Gilman was used to analyze the function of noun form of address applied by characters in the movie. The results found five types of noun form of address, namely; names term (first name, last name and nickname), kinship term, title, occupational term, terms of endearment. This study does not find any data related to the abstract noun because this movie does not have any scenes which describe the abstract quality of the addressee, such as in the kingdom or court. Moreover, the function of noun form of address terms to show solidarity becomes the highest occurrences in the movie.

Abstract

Di dalam karya sastra atau literature yang salah satunya adalah novel, banyak ditemukan penggunaan bahasa figurative yang diungkapkan dalam jalan ceritanya.Tulisanini mengklasifikasikan jenis jenis bahasa figuratif yang terkandung di dalamnovel karyaCharlotte Bronte berjudul Jane Eyre serta selanjutnya menjelaskan makna dari setiapbahasa figuratif yang terdapat dalam setiap novel tersebut berdasarkan teori yangdiungkapkan oleh Larson dalam buku A Meaning Based of Translation. Berdasarkan hasilpengklasifikasian data tersebut ditemukan terdapat tiga metonimi.Tiga sinekdok, satu idiom,enam hiperbola, tujuh metafora, dan delapan simile.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahasa dan bentuk kesopanan dalam percakapan olehpenutur wanita umumnya berbeda dengan penutur pria. Hal ini dapat ditinjaudari acara talk show wanita, majalah wanita ataupun karya sastra dalam bentuknovel. Tulisan ini merupakan analisa terhadap novel hasil karya Charlotte Bronteberjudul Jane Eyre yang memiliki korelasi terhadap teori Lakoff yangmengungkapkan theory of women language. Berdasarkan hasil analisa tersebut,hal hal linguistic dalam bahasa wanita mencakup pertanyaan pendek pada akhirkalimat, jenis dominasi kata kata sifat untuk wanita, konsistesi terhadap kosa katayang benar, memperhatikan intonasi suara, penggunaan tata bahasa dan bentukkesopanan bahasa, penegasan ekspresi, intensif dalam penggunaan just and so,menghindari umpatan yang kuat serta penggunaan istilah warna yang tepat.

Abstract

Jurnal ilmiah berjudul “Felicity Condition of Women’s Illocutions in The Novel Stand By Me” ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tipe-tipe ilokusi yang ditemukan dalam novel tersebut dan juga mengetahui apakah sebuah ujaran yg diucapkan oleh seorang pembicara tersebut tepat atau tidak. Studi ini membatasi pembahasannya hanya pada ujaran yang mengandung unsur bahasa wanita. Dengan demikian, pembahasan mengenai ilokusi dan ketepatannya menjadi lebih spesifik dan berbeda dari studi yang sudah membahas mengenai hal ini sebelumnya. Untuk mengumpulkan data dari sumber data (novel), penulis menggunakan metode dokumentasi. Sementara, untuk menganalisa permasalahan yang muncul pada studi ini, penulis mengaplikasikan metode deskriptif kuantitatif karena selain menggunakan teory untuk membedah permasalahan, studi ini juga menekankan pada jumlah data yang ditemukan dari sebuah novel. Untuk menganalisa tipe-tipe ilokusi yang muncul pada novel Stand By Me, penulis menggunakan teori ilokusi yang diusulkan oleh Searle (1979). Selain itu, penulis juga menggunakan teori mengenai felicity condition yang dikemukakan oleh Austin (1962) untuk mengetahui apakah ujaran-ujaran tersebut tepat atau tidak.
