Abstract

The histomorphometry study of Etawah crossbreed ovaries has been carried out. A total of 64 left and right ovaries from PE goats at aged (12-36 months) and young (5-12 months) were taken from the Kampung Jawa Slaughterhouse, in Denpasar. Then next is made histological preparations and stained with Harris – Hematoxylin Eosin. The results showed that the histological structure of the ovary consisted of cortical and medullary layers, respectively. In the cortex layers were found follicular development, and there are blood vessels, loose connective tissue, and nerves in the medulla layers. There is no difference in the number of follicles in adult and young goats. There were no differences (P>0.05) of the right and left of the cortex and ovarian medulla. The ovarian cortex and medulla of adult PE goats are thicker (P<0.05) than a young.

Abstract

This study was conducted to compare the number of coliform and non-coliform bacteria in laying feces on various age groups. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four age treatments, namely the starter, grower, developer, and layer phases, respectively. Each treatment used six replications, with a total of 24 samples. The samples obtained were diluted with 10-5 dilutions and planted on Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA) media. After incubating for 18-24 hours at 37 ° C, the bacteria count was then calculated. Data on the number of coliform and non-coliform bacterial colonies grown on EMBA media were analyzed for variety and continued with BNT test when it was significantly different. The results showed that the number of coliform and non-coliform bacteria in laying hens in various age groups was not significantly different.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality of broiler carcasses that are sold in traditional markets of South Denpasar District. Sampling was conducted in four traditional markets and each market was picked up by three sellers with six repetitions. The parameters observed included water holding capacity (WHC), pH value, and cooking loss. The measurement data were analyzed by ANOVA test and if there was a significant difference (P <0.05) then will be continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test. The results showed that pH and Water Holding Capacity (WHC) test of broiler meat in all four markets in South Denpasar district was not significantly different (P>0,05). Meanwhile, the cooking loss showed significantly different results (P <0.05) in each market. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the quality of broiler meat sold in the traditional market of South Denpasar District is still good and feasible to be consumed.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi variabilitas nutrisi dan kontaminasi mikotoksin pada bahan baku jagung di Sumatera Utara dengan memperhatikan tingkat keeratan hubungan antara variable bebas (varietas jagung, lahan tanam, ketinggian, kelembaban relatif, sumber pengeringan, lama penyimpanan, dan tempat penyimpanan) dengan masing-masing variabel terikat (kadar air, kadar protein kasar, kadar lemak kasar, kadar serat kasar, aflatoksin, fumonisin, dan zearalenone). Dari 5 kabupaten terilih di Sumatera Utara, sebanyak 45 orang pedagang, 30 orang pengumpul dan 30 orang pedagang jagung diwawancarai serta sebanyak sebanyak 105 sampel jagung yang berasal dari petani, pedagang dan pengepul jagung pada penelitian ini. Sampel diuji kadar air, kadar protein kasar, kadar lemak kasar, serat kasar, kandungan aflatoksin, fumonisin dan zearalenone. Pengujian kandungan aflatoksin, fumonisin dan zearalenone menggunakan metode LFIA (Lateral Flow Immunochromatic Assay). Analisa statistik dilakukan dengan metode analisa korelasi dan regresi menggunakan SPSS versi 21.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor ketinggian berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kadar air dan serat kasar sedangkan lama penyimpanan mempengaruhi kadar air. Kadar protein kasar dan lemak kasar tidak dipengaruhi oleh variabel bebas manapun. Pada kontaminasi mikotoksin, faktor kelembaban relatif berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kandungan aflatoksin dan fumonisin sedangkan lama penyimpanan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kandungan aflatoksin. Namun, kandungan zearalenone tidak dipengaruhi oleh variable bebas manapun.

Abstract

Organic forage has become the choice of bali cattle feed in Bali, so it is necessary to know its effect on the total erythrocytes average and hemoglobin levels of bali cattle. This study used ten samples of bali cattle aged 12-18 months. Blood samples were taken through the jugular vein using venoject. Total erythrocyte examination and hemoglobin levels of bali cattle were measured using a Veterinary Hematology Analyzer. The results showed that the mean total of erythrocytes was 6.54x106?l, and the mean hemoglobin level was 12.2 g / dL. Total erythrocytes and hemoglobin levels of Balinese cattle with organic forage were still in the normal range

Abstract

Almost all meat on the market is contaminated by microorganisms. As a result of the contamination of microorganisms, it changes in color, odor, and consistency. This research aims to study the effect of various levels of concentration and soaking time of Pegagan (Centella asiatica L.) leaf juice and to study whether there is an interaction between concentration and soaking time of Centella asiatica L. juice on the quality of pork in terms of the organoleptic test. Soaking pork in the juice of Centella asiatica L. juice is done by inserting each piece of meat into eight glasses, which have been filled with control, 5%, 10%, and 15% concentration juice. Soaking is done for 5 minutes, and 10 minutes then the meat is drained for 15 minutes, then an organoleptic test is performed and analyzed by variance. The results of the concentration had a significant effect (P<0.05) on changes in color, odor, and consistency of meat. While the soaking time had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the smell of meat but no significant effect (P>0.05) on the color and consistency of pork. And also, there is no interaction between concentration and soaking time.
