This study aims to analyse the influence of the relevance of economic education on the needs of the world of work, specifically among alumni of the Economic Education Study Programme at Gunung Jati Swadaya University. The background to this study is based on the challenges of the era of digitalisation and industrial transformation, which require university graduates to have competencies that match the needs of the job market. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The sample in this study consists of 40 alumni selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument, a questionnaire, was distributed online and tested for validity and reliability before analysis. Data analysis techniques used include simple linear regression tests, correlation tests, determination coefficients, and significance tests (t-tests). The results of the study indicate that the relevance of economic education has a positive and significant effect on the needs of the job market, with a correlation coefficient of 0.737 and an R Square of 0.543, meaning that 54.3% of the job market needs are explained by this variable. This occurs with the rejection of H0 and the acceptance of Ha because the significance value of 0.000 is less than 0.05. This study combines Human Capital Theory and Job Matching Theory, demonstrating that relevant education can enhance graduates' readiness to face modern industrial challenges, contributing theoretically to understanding the relationship between education, skills, and work readiness. The findings emphasize the importance of developing competency-based curricula aligned with industrial needs, strengthening soft and hard skills, and optimising practical and internship programs such as MBKM. Abstract

This study investigates the relationships between emotional and adversity quotient and their impact on adaptive performance, with self-leadership examined as a mediating variable. Although there is a growing body of research on emotional intelligence, adversity quotient, and adaptive performance, limited studies have specifically explored the interrelationship of these three variables within the context of elementary school teachers, particularly in rural or semi-rural regions such as Kepahiang Regency in Indonesia. This research employed a quantitative method conducted in Kepahiang Regency, involving a total sample of 230 elementary school teachers who participated voluntarily. Data collection was conducted online, using a structured questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The analysis followed the data analysis stages outlined by Neuman, utilizing SPSS to describe respondent characteristics, and Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess indicators and test hypotheses. The results indicate that both emotional quotient and adversity quotient have a positive and significant effect on teachers' adaptive performance. Furthermore, self-leadership was found to significantly mediate the relationship between emotional and adversity quotient and adaptive performance. These findings provide important insights and contribute to the development of capacity-building programs, improvements in working conditions, and policies or initiatives that aim to enhance teaching quality and teachers’ well-being—particularly by strengthening teachers’ adaptive capacity through improved emotional intelligence, mental resilience, and self-leadership skills. This study also implies that the success of teacher adaptation is not solely determined by professional competence, but also by psychological factors such as emotional intelligence and the ability to lead oneself. Keywords: Emotional Quotient; Adversity Quotient; Self-Leadership; Adaptive Performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of online gambling on the productivity and financial health of college students in Medan. The rapid development of digital technology makes college students increasingly vulnerable to online gambling, which is often associated with negative impacts on social, financial, and academic aspects. This study used an associative quantitative technique with 100 students selected non-probabilistically. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a Likert scale and analyzed using simple regression in SPSS 25. The study found that online gambling negatively impacts productivity (β = -0.057; Sig. = 0.480) and financial health (β = -0.021; Sig. = 0.627). However, the impact was not statistically significant. These findings indicate that college students' awareness of financial risks, supported by religious and cultural norms, plays a role in mitigating the negative impacts of online gambling practices. However, online gambling still has the potential to cause real problems such as wastefulness, debt, and poor personal financial management. Therefore, it is recommended that universities and policymakers strengthen financial literacy programs and educate students about the dangers of online gambling to increase student resilience to digital gambling practices. Keywords: academic productivity, financial health, online gambling, risk awareness.

Abstract

Working students face challenges in balancing academic demands with the jobs they do to meet financial needs or gain practical experience. This study aims to explore the role of social support in helping students who work in the food and beverage industry in Samarinda City achieve a balance between work and academic life. This study employs a qualitative research design with a descriptive approach to explore the role of social support in achieving work-life balance among students working in the food and beverage (F&B) industry in Samarinda City. A qualitative approach was chosen because it allows for an in-depth understanding of participants' life experiences, perceptions, and social interactions within their educational and work environments. The research subjects consist of three informants, all of whom are students working part-time in the food and beverage industry. Two informants work as baristas, while one informant works as kitchen staff in local cafes and restaurants in Samarinda City. The informants were selected using purposive sampling, a sampling technique commonly used in qualitative research to select individuals who have relevant experience and can provide rich and in-depth information related to the research problem selection.subjects was based on several considerations. First, students working in the F&B sector often face irregular working hours, customer service demands, and performance pressures, making them prone to experiencing conflicts between work and study. The results of the study show that working students apply careful time management strategies to maintain a balance between their studies and work. Social support, whether from family, friends, or self-support, proved to play an important role in reducing stress and improving their well-being. Although challenges such as difficulty in managing time and heavy academic workloads remain, the emotional and practical support provided by the surrounding environment is very helpful in achieving this. This research provides insights into the importance of social support in managing the work-life balance of working students, as well as its contribution to their well-being and academic success. Keywords: Students working, social support, work-life balance, time management
