Abstract

Community Skills Training Centers (BLKK) were initiated and established by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and Cooperatives by providing initial facilities in terms of infrastructure and programs funded directly by the government. Several BLKKs in Region II of West Java were developed in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). In 2024, BLKK was encouraged to develop and expand its businesses by establishing business incubators. In doing so, this effort was mentored and facilitated by UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon throughout 2024. This paper examines the achievements of mentoring community-based BLKKs in Region II of West Java in developing business incubators to expand their businesses. The research for this paper was conducted qualitatively, with informants consisting of BLKK program implementers and mentors. The analysis was conducted using an evaluation scheme based on the business incubator roadmap developed by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower. The results of this study show that, firstly, there is a need for the development of UMKM businesses run by BLKKs towards business incubators to expand their businesses, although they face challenges such as a lack of financial support, a lack of awareness among potential tenants, and a lack of government support. Secondly, business incubators play an important role in supporting the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and tenants in Indonesia. Case studies at Community Skills Training Centers show that business incubators not only provide skills training but also help MSMEs and tenants access technology, improve human resource quality, and gain broader market access. BLKK incubators serve as intermediaries between MSMEs and the industrial world, enabling the creation of collaborations relevant to local market needs. Business incubation also helps to overcome the main challenges faced by MSMEs, such as limited capital, limited access to technology, and challenges in facing digital transformation.

Abstract

Community Vocational Training Centers (BLK-K) are one of the backbones of unemployment alleviation through job creation and the creation of entrepreneurs capable of producing products or services. This study aims to analyze the characteristics, challenges, and opportunities of BLKK in 12 regencies/cities within Region II in West Java in their development through the establishment of entrepreneurial incubators. The study used a mixed method that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. Primary resources were drawn from the direct BLK-K actors, the mentoring team, officers from the Bandung Center for the Acceleration and Expansion of Employment Opportunities, and related BLK-K/incubator tenants. Secondary data sources were drawn from literature reviews and various sources related to Community BLK and entrepreneurial incubators. Qualitative data collection methods were carried out through direct observation of several BLK K locations, interviews during mentoring, FGDs, and literature reviews. Meanwhile, the quantitative approach utilized a questionnaire instrument to obtain data on BLK-K attitudes towards external challenges and opportunities. The results showed that there are 23 BLK-K in 12 regencies in West Java that have developed and established entrepreneurial incubator institutions characterized by Islamic boarding school-based management. The main characteristics of the development of BLK-K into an entrepreneurial incubator are having a strategic plan for an entrepreneurial incubator, having a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) as guidelines for activities, and having entrepreneurial tenants around the Islamic boarding school. In its development, BLK-K still faces challenges in the form of dependence on funding from the central government, limited cooperation with the business world and the industrial world, BLK-K management, training quality, instructor competence, location selection and vocational programs, and the continued resistance to change. However, there are opportunities that BLK-K can take advantage of, including increasing BLK-K capacity, multi-party collaboration, and the development of communication and information technology.

Abstract

The development of Islamic propagation (dakwah) and the dissemination of Islam in Indonesia have been simultaneous and complex. Dakwah, which linguistically means a religion that brings salvation, has been widely accepted by the majority of Indonesian society. This success cannot be separated from the roles of past propagators who utilized various dakwah methods, namely dakwah bil lisan (oral preaching), bil kitabah (written preaching), and bil hal (practical preaching). This paper aims to analyze the process of dakwah and the spread of Islam in Indonesia using the theoretical framework of structural functionalism. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach, focusing on studies of dakwah and the spread of Islam. The findings indicate that Islam entered Indonesia through trade, marriage, education, sufism, arts, and politics. The primary propagators of Islam in early Indonesia were the Walisongo, who arrived periodically. The arrival of Islam elicited various responses from the mad'u (recipients of dakwah), which eventually led to widespread acceptance. The dynamics of accepting Islamic teachings were influenced by the social class context of the past, specifically the abangan, santri, and priyayi classes.

Abstract

The LOGIN podcast, featured on Deddy Corbuzier’s YouTube channel and hosted by Habib Husein Ja’far and Onadio Leonardo (Onad), represents an innovative form of digital da'wah that combines religious discourse with popular culture. Students of the Faculty of Da'wah and Islamic Communication at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon can utilize this podcast as a key subject of study to understand how Islamic messages are delivered in a casual yet meaningful way. This study aims to identify the da'wah messages presented in four selected LOGIN episodes, analyze their modes of delivery, and explore the Islamic values conveyed in each discussion.This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a hermeneutic approach to interpret the meanings of da'wah messages within the context of digital media. Data were collected through in-depth observations of four selected episodes from 2025, namely those featuring Boris Bokir, Soimah, Fajar Sadboy, and Vior Vincent. Analysis focuses on the content of conversations, specific scene durations, and the inclusion of Qur’anic verses and hadiths in the dialogue.Findings show that the LOGIN podcast delivers messages of faith (aqidah), ethics (akhlak), and Islamic law (sharia) through a lighthearted, humorous, and conversational style. This approach makes da'wah more accessible to young audiences and lay communities. Islamic values such as monotheism, interfaith tolerance, self-reflection, and social ethics are presented through inclusive, open-ended discussions. The podcast's format has proven to be an effective means of spreading Islamic teachings in the digital era and positively influences the audience’s religious understanding.

Abstract

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the most complex and protracted geopolitical issues in the world, marked by injustice, human rights violations, and a deep humanitarian crisis. Amid global efforts to find a peaceful solution, the dissemination of accurate information and education about the root causes and impacts of the conflict is crucial. This study examines the role of animation as a tool for social change, focusing on the Instagram account @animasitaarts, which actively promotes a movement for change through content about Palestine. It uses a constructivist paradigm and a transdisciplinary approach to communication, social, and religious studies. Qualitative research as a tool for social change, the potential for social mobilization, and the formation of collective action among @animasitaarts followers through Thomas Tuftte's edutainment theory from Jan Serveas' book (2008). The results of the study show that @animasitaarts' dakwah comics, with their attractive visuals and touching narratives, are effective in building positive reactions and audience awareness of the suffering in Palestine. Despite being limited to the Instagram platform, @animasitaarts has successfully become a prominent educational space within the da'wah community, encouraging digital solidarity actions such as praying and donating, and inspiring collective action as a form of concern for the Palestinian people. This indicates that animation, particularly through social media platforms such as Instagram, has great potential as an effective medium for da'wah and education on social and humanitarian issues, bridging the information gap and fostering collective awareness. Konflik Israel-Palestina merupakan salah satu isu geopolitik paling kompleks dan berkepanjangan di dunia, ditandai oleh ketidakadilan, pelanggaran hak asasi manusia, dan krisis kemanusiaan yang mendalam. Di tengah upaya global untuk mencari solusi damai, penyebaran informasi dan edukasi yang akurat mengenai akar masalah dan dampaknya menjadi krusialenelitian ini mengkaji peran animasi sebagai alat perubahan sosial, dengan fokus pada akun Instagram @animasitaarts yang secara aktif mendorong gerakan perubahan melalui konten dakwah tentang Palestina. Dengan menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme dan pendekatan transdisiplin ilmu komunikasi, sosial dan dakwah. Penelitian kualitatif sebagai alat perubahan sosial, potensi mobilisasi sosial, dan pembentukan aksi kolektif di kalangan pengikut @animasitaarts melalui teori edutaiment Thomas Tuftte dari buku Jan Serveas (2008). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komik dakwah @animasitaarts, dengan visualisasi menarik dan narasi yang menyentuh, efektif membangun reaksi positif dan kesadaran audiens terhadap penderitaan di Palestina. Meskipun terbatas pada platform Instagram, @animasitaarts berhasil menjadi ruang edukasi yang menonjol di kalangan komunitas dakwah, mendorong aksi solidaritas digital seperti berdoa dan berdonasi, serta menginspirasi aksi kolektif sebagai wujud kepedulian terhadap rakyat Palestina. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa animasi, khususnya melalui platform media sosial seperti Instagram, memiliki potensi besar sebagai medium dakwah dan edukasi yang efektif untuk isu-isu sosial dan kemanusiaan, menjembatani kesenjangan informasi dan mendorong kesadaran kolektif

Abstract

iWise is a new Islamic educational institution that sets high tuition fees to target the upper-middle class. Given this issue, this paper aims to analyze how iWise's Instagram account functions as a modern medium for da'wah: a multidimensional approach to the upper-middle class from an institutional perspective. This study states that iWise's approach as a da'wah institution that adopts modernization strategies and tends to be oriented towards the upper-middle class may overlook the lower class, who also need spiritual services. The theory used in this study is the institutional theory proposed by Branston and Stafford (2003: 182-200). This study uses a constructivist paradigm methodology through a qualitative approach with the research subjects being the iWise Instagram account and iWise administrators, while the research object is modern da'wah. This study proves that as a medium for Islamic studies, iWise takes a holistic approach in delivering modern da'wah, reflecting efforts to make Islam a “way of life.” From an institutional perspective, this study concludes that iWise as an institution successfully reflects that da'wah in the contemporary era not only functions as a means of spreading religious values but also as a space for dialogue that bridges spirituality with the modern aspirations of society.iWise merupakan lembaga pendidikan Agama Islam baru yang menetapkan biaya pendidikan cukup tinggi untuk menargetkan masyarakat kalangan menengah ke atas. Dengan adanya permasalahan tersebut, maka kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana instagram iWise sebagai media dakwah modern: pendekatan multidimensional terhadap masyarakat menengah atas dalam perspektif institution. Penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pendekatan iWise sebagai lembaga dakwah yang mengadopsi strategi modernisasi dan cenderung berorientasi pada masyarakat kelas menengah atas dapat mengesampingkan kelompok masyarakat kelas bawah yang juga membutuhkan layanan spiritual. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori institusi yang dikemukakan oleh Branston dan Stafford (2003: 182-200). Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi paradigma konstruktivisme melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek penelitiannya adalah akun instagram iWise dan pengurus iWise, sedangkan objek penelitiannya adalah dakwah modern. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa sebagai media kajian Islam, iWise melakukan pendekatan holistik dalam menyampaikan dakwah modern mencerminkan upaya untuk menjadikan Islam sebagai “way of life”. Dalam perspektif institusi, penelitian ini menyimpulkan iWise sebagai sebuah institusi berhasil mencerminkan bahwa dakwah di era kontemporer tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penyebaran nilai-nilai agama, tetapi juga sebagai ruang dialog yang menjembatani spiritualitas dengan aspirasi modern masyarakat.
