Abstract

AbstractFeminist theory attempted to analyze the various conditions that shape the lives of womenand explore diverse cultural understanding about women. Feminist theory was originallydirected to the political objective of the Woman Movement. The feminist rejected the viewthat the inequality between men and women are naturally. Thinking as a feminist involvesattempts to challenge many of the things that are considered as “knowledge”. Historically,live in a society dominated by men, women are more often made into objects rather than thecreator of knowledge. As the result, many things are passed down as an objective knowledgeabout the world is actually produced by men (white skin, middle class and heterogeneous).Women are in a variety of different positions in local and global contexts and displayeddifferently in art, literature and other media; the different in terms of nationality, ethnicity,education, language, class, family, work, ability or disability and sexuality is crucial.Keywords: Politics, Feminism, Feminist

Abstract

AbstractThe term sister city was originally introduced by Dwight Eisehower to the XII century,which means the town brothers, friendly city. The concept of sister city intends to maximizethe relationship between community members in all corners of the world to be created andmaintain peace. Sister city Jakarta - Tokyo has succeeded in building a positive image ofJakarta as an international city. As an international city, Jakarta has a vision of "Aligningthe city of Jakarta with cities abroad." That is why the cooperation program of sister cityJakarta - Tokyo for the Jakarta Provincial Government is a necessity as a consequence ofJakarta as the Capital of Indonesia Republic and international city. In making the city ofJakarta as the city of city services, through its sister city Quezon City - Tokyo, JakartaProvincial Government to send its agents (HR) to Tokyo to follow the Exchange Program,Apprenticeship and Training Apparatus, to turns knowledge, skill, and attitude towardpositive changing of apparatus, it means improved the quality of human resources so thatits services meet international standards so the city can be a service city. As for thecommunity (people), sister city programs Jakarta - Tokyo has managed to build brotherhoodand friendship through sports and high school student and teacher exchanges.Keywords: Sister City, Service City

Abstract

AbstrackMeningkatnya anggaran militer China lebih dari satu dekade terakhir ini menyebabkanterjadinya instabilitas di kawasan Asia Timur. Hal ini terutama disebabkan karena Jepangmerasa terancam dengan strategi China dan karenanya Jepang melakukan perubahanterhadap kebijakan pertahanannya. Jepang yang memiliki masalah perbatasan denganChina di sekitar Laut Timur, beranggapan bahwa modernisasi persenjataan China,terutama yang dilakukan terhadap armada lautnya, bukan ditujukan utk menciptakanstabilitas keamanan kawasan namun sebaliknya, menimbulkan ancaman bagi Jepang dannegara tetangga lainnya. Sebagai reaksi terhadap kebijakan pertahanan China tersebut,Jepang, di samping tetap menikmati kerjasama pertahanan dengan Amerika Serikat, telahmemutuskan untuk merubah postur pertahanannya dan meningkatkan anggaran belanjamiliternya. Meskipun terlalu dini untuk menyatakan akan terjadi perang antara Jepangdan China, namun dinamika yang terjadi pada keduanya menimbulkan persepsi yangberagam bagi negara-negara di kawasan Asia Timur, namun yang paling mencolok adalahmeningkatnya perasaan terancam yang akan mengarah pada security dilemma (dilemakeamanan).Kata kunci: Modernisasi pertahanan, Instabilitas, Dilema keamanan

Abstract

AbstractThe centrality of the eye and visual ability in the life of individuals and society has spawneda form of culture that is called as visual culture. Visual culture studies are a burgeoningarea of study that emphasizes the complex interrelationship between visual image, cultureand spectators of visual image. On the other hand, communication practices that utilizevisual messages as means of interaction are also increasingly prevalent as this is driven bythe development of visual and communication technology which allows peoples to producetheir own visual image as messages to communicate them. This article tries to discuss theposition of visual culture studies within the communication science and the researchmethods that can be used in the communication science to examine visual image, culture,and spectatorships.Keywords: Visual culture, Visual culture studies, Visual communication,Communication science, Visual methodologies.

AbstractThe increasing levels of competition that emerged in the community, led the organizationto keep pace. It can only be achieved if the organization want to follow the changes, bydoing innovation. In doing that, an organization often have to face problems that causestagnation in the innovation process and leads to the trauma of innovation. Those obstacleswhich are not rare also happened to the communication’s activity. Therefore the role ofleadership in the organization is very important especially on how to communicate reliably.Nevertheless, a public relations strategically can support its leader in achieving innovationby acting effectively as a mediator, which is always communicate with external public andmainly with the internal’s public of the organization itself.Keywords: Organizational Innovation, Communication, Role of Public Relations

AbstractIn the political life, a political communicator has a central role when he or she want to get aposition in the parliament either as president or vice president in the legislative, executiveor judicative branch. A strategic planning of the Campaign Manager is very important tobring a Political Communicator to be president. What has to be done by a campaignmanager and what kind of strategy will be used to achieve its goal will be described in thisarticle by mapping steps conducted by the Campaign Manager that using PEST andSWOT analysis and followed by campaign planning to answer five basic questions: whatwill be achieved, who is the target, what message will be conveyed, how to convey, how toevaluate and time and fund of its implementation.Keywords: Political communicator, Campaign manager, Strategic planning

Abstract

AbstractThis article is a conceptual review focusing theinterrelatedness of globalization and human rights.Myanmar governments has been accused ofexploiting Myanmar’s human rights and Europeangovernments has applied sanctions andcondemnations toward Myanmar. The researchquestion is how human rights value internalize toMyanmar in the context of globalization. Toanswer this question, the author used EnglishSchool Theory pioneered by Hedley Bull and BarryBuzan. Since this is a value debate, three conceptsof English School will be used as value comparisonwhich are international order, pluralism andsolidarism. Through comparative study of values,this article concluded that universalization ofhuman rights through sanctions provokedresistance from ASEAN countries. National andlocal values of ASEAN countries such as sovereigntyand order have balanced the human rights value.“ASEAN Way” is symbol of balanced interactionbetween global and local values. Coexistence, a keyconcept of English School, become a key conceptrelevant in discussing the interrelatedness ofglobalization and human rights in the context ofMyanmar.Keywords: Globalization, Human Rights, EnglishSchool, Pluaralism, Solidarism, International Order,ASEAN, Myanmar AbstrakArtikel ini merupakan kajian konseptual membahasketerkaitan antara fenomena globalisasi dankonsep hak asasi manusia melalui studi kasuspelanggaran HAM di Myanmar. Tindakan dankebijakan Pemerintah Myanmar dianggapmerampas hak asasi manusia Myanmar danmemicu kemarahan dan sanksi ekonomi dari UniEropa Eropa. Pertanyaan yang diangkat adalahbagaimana penyebaran nilai HAM dalam konteksglobalisasi dengan studi kasus Myanmar. Untukmenjawab pertanyaan ini, penulis menggunakanteori English School of International Relation yangdigagas oleh Hedley Bull dan Barry Buzan. Dalammelihat perdebatan nilai HAM ini, terdapat tigakonsep English School untuk menjadi studiperbandingan nilai yaitu tatanan internasional,pluralism dan solidarisme. Melalui studiperbandingan nilai ini, penulis berkesimpulanbahwa globalisasi nilai HAM melalui instrumensanksi yang diterapkan Uni Eropa menghasilkanresistensi dari negara-negara ASEAN dan terciptainteraksi yang lebih berimbang denganmemperhatikan nilai-nilai yang diadopsi negaranegaraASEAN. Coexistence yang diajukan konseppluralisme dalam bentuk “ASEAN Way” menjadirelevan dalam perdebatan nilai HAM di Myanmar.Kata kunci: Globalisasi, Hak Asasi Manusia, EnglishSchool, Pluralisme, Solidarisme, TatananInternasional, ASEAN, Myanmar
