Abstract

IndonesiaTourism has been growing significantly over the past few years. In 2013, income from tourism reached 10,054 millions dollars, occupied the third place of indonesia export commodities. The ministry of tourism and creatice economy has targeted 20 millions arrivals and 240 trillion rupiahs from international tourist arrivals in 2019. As Bali has been contributing for more than 40 percent of international tourist arrivals in Indonenesia, it is expected to have around 8 millions international arrivals in 2019. Using ARIMA method, it is predicted that the number of international tourist arrivals in Bali will be 5,07 millions in 2019, far below the target. This result suggests that government should give more effort to develop tourism in the upcoming years to fulfil the target.

Abstract

This paper aims to evaluate the impact of government policies in cash transfer on social capital in Indonesia. The method that will be used in this study are differences-in-differences (DID), while the data used is Indonesia Familiy Life Survey in 2000 and 2007. Based on the estimation results, the recipient of cash assistance is unconditional, namely cash assistance (BLT) more actively involved in social capital, especially in arisan activities. One of the household motivations to participate in arisan activities is to have access to credit and the ability to maintain purchasing power or carry out consumption smoothing when there is an increase in the price of fuel oil (BBM) in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the households that received unconditional cash assistance, namely the Program Keluarga Harapan did not have a statistical effect on social capital in Indonesia. These findings indicate that households that receive Program Keluarga Harapan assistance tend to be less active or involved in social capital activities in Indonesia.

The analysis technique used is Binary Logistic Regression Model. Results of the data analysis showed, that simultaneously revenues, costs of transport and accessibility have a significant effect towards the intensity of the use of public transport services Trans Sarbagita. Income and accessibility partially negative and significant effect towards the intensity of the use of public transport services Trans Sarbagita, while transport costs partially not significant effect towards the intensity of the use of public transport services Trans Sarbagita. Trans Sarbagita business should adds bulk carriers so as to reach the locations of residential areas to reduce the use of private transport.

Abstract

Early marriage is still a common phenomenon in Indonesia. This phenomenon is motivated by various factors such as social, economic and cultural. This study aims to examine the role of cultural factors on the occurrence of early marriage in Indonesia. The culture proxyed by two forms, first, ethnicity background in the household and second, the matchmaking process. The analysis used Indonesia Life Survey (IFLS) data in 2014 with logistic model and ordinary least square (OLS). Results show that ethnic background has a very important role in influencing early marriage. Children from Javanese, Sundanese, Madurese, Sasak and Betawi ethnic have a tendency to marry earlier than other tribes. The study also proves that matchmaking process is a significant factor that encourages early marriage. Location is an important factor for a firm to grow. Firms will have many advantages if they were located in a cluster. This article will discuss about the factors that used to point the SME location of the special product in Bengkulu by using discriminant analysis. Generally, discriminant model that used have a good prediction ability, with a true prediction more than 78% cases. There are five different variable that found as predictors of the location; the amount of the labor, the government rules , the education of the businessman, source of the product supply, and capital investment. Abstract

This study aims to identify the impact of economic development and industrialization to the environmental degradation in Indonesia, both in the long term and short term. To see the effect of economic development and industrialization to the environmental degradation in Indonesia, this research was used Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) model and the model of Error Correction Mechanism (ECM). The results of the study explain that in the long term, improvement of people's income and industrialization have positive effect linearly with the increase in C02 emissions and at a certain income level there is a process improvement environment characterized by a decrease in CO2 emissions. But in the short term only industrialization which influence on the increase of CO2 emissions Expected that the consensus between the government and businesses (industri) in reducing the impact of pollution and the increased awareness of society in helping to reduce environmental damage.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe how accomodation in Bali looks like and what factors that statistically significant affect accomodation’s room occupancy rate which is the indicator of accomodation productivity with logit and probit equations. Those models then compared to know which one is more precise. The result of this research involving 1.785 accomodations in Bali shows that there is a significant difference among accomodations viewed in different angles, like accomodation type, chain status, and location. From ten variables hipothyzed affecting accomodation’s room occupancy rate, six of themare statistically significant. Those variables are number of workers, number of beds, chain status, association membership, location, and region. Logit and probit models each has 73,39% and 72,94% accuracy. Because of its higher accuracy, logit model is more precise to predict the tendency of accomodation room occupancy rate.
