Abstract

Buduk feeder is a 20 Kv medium voltage distribution system that gets power supplyfrom the ship's substation and crosses large coastal areas and rice fields and is prone to naturalphenomena such as lightning. During 2018 there were 3 lightning disturbances. Based on thesedata, it is necessary to analyze the distribution channel failure at Buduk feeders, so thecontinuity of the distribution channel can be better. The performance of the Spike System iswhen a lightning surge occurs on the distribution channel, the Spike System directly transmitsthe lightning strike to the ground. Based on the data analysis, it is necessary to add a Spikeprotection system to the Buduk Feeder to maintain the continuity of electric power.The methodused in this research is to collect data in the form of a single line diagram, disturbance data dueto lightning strikes at Buduk feeders. Next, compared the Buduk feed line before Spikeinstallation and after spike installation. First, analysis of technical data and the channelperformance before spike installation. Second, proceed with channel analysis after theinstallation of the Spike. Third, to analyze the causes of failure due to lightning strikes on thefeeders. The results obtained after the installation of the Spike system, the number ofdisturbances due to lightning surges, both induction and direct strikes, decreased in 2019 withthe number of interruptions one time.

Abstract

Public Street Lighting is a facility needed as a navigation aid for road users, increasingthe safety and comfort of road users, and supporting environmental security. The lack of lightingon the Ngurah Rai Bypass road is then performed a recalculation analysis and replacing theexisting lamps with LED types in order to maximize the lighting contained in the Ngurah RaiBypass. Measurements are made starting from the intersection of the Bali Mandara Toll roadtraffic lights towards (East) Sanur which ends at the first traffic light after the Bali Mandara Tolltraffic light, this road is an Arterial type road with a road width of 8 meters with a road length of1270m. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, that is, data collection isdone through measurement using objective and standard tools. The calculation results are thencompared with the conditions that occur in the field using IBM SPSS Statistics. Based on theresults of the research, it shows that the lamps installed with 10.21 lux still do not meet SNI 11-20 lux. Changing the type of mercury lamp to a 120 Watt LED lamp produces 13.21 lux, whichmeets SNI for PJU lighting.

Abstract

Along with technological developments, various technological innovations have begunto emerge that can be applied to facilitate individual or group work. One of them is the use ofappropriate technology, namely the use of technology in a field that can provide real benefit.Researchers designed an automatic watering system using RTC (Real time clock) based on theArduino Mega 2560 microcontroller. This watering system works automatically based on aspecified watering schedule according to the user's wishes. Users can set the watering timeeasily because the system is equipped with a keypad. Based on the results of tests carried out,the watering process occurs, when the time displayed on the LCD is the same as the timesetting given. Long watering duration of approximately 1 minute.

Abstract

Energy needs from year to year has increased along with the increase of population,economic growth, and high energy consumption. Until now, the world still depends on fossilfuels, this causes the depletion of oil availability and also causes air pollution. As a developingcountry, many industries are running around us and also many new industries are growingevery day. Every industry generally has an exhaust fan to maintain the temperature of the workspace. This exhaust fan works to remove air from the inside out. This research uses exhaustfan exhaust by using a 2-blade turbine and the addition of a wind tunnel, which will latercompare the output between using a wind tunnel and without using a wind tunnel. In theresearch the use of exhaust fan exhaust air without using a wind tunnel to get an output of0,30625W while with the addition of wind tunnel output increased by 8,25% to 0,76176W.

Abstract

It is time for solar power plants to supply electricity to agricultural businesses to avoiddependence on oil-fired electricity. Most agricultural businesses find it difficult to get electricitybecause they are located far from the center of the PLN network. The purpose of this study wasto determine the potential and design of PLTS for electricity needs in agricultural businesses.The method of analysis was carried out descriptively by calculating the primary data. The resultsof the analysis on each load requirement show that for a 500 watt load, 24 panels series SP-100-M36 Part Number 53-067, SR-500 - S-12V inverter, minimum battery 4666.66 Ah 47 unitsof Model SMT12100S are needed, 1000 watt load required 47 panels series SP-100-M36,Growatt 1000S inverter, 9333.33 Ah batteries 94 pieces Model SMT12100S, 1500 watt loadrequired 71 panels specification series SP-100-M36, Growatt inverter specification 1500Sminimum capacity battery 14000 Ah 140 pieces Model SMT12100S, 3000 watt load required142 pieces of SP-100-M36 specification panels, Sunny Boy 3000 TL inverter specifications,batteries with a minimum capacity of 28000 Ah 280 SMT12100S.Key words: Electric power, renewable energy, PLTS.

Abstract

The need for electricity that is growing rapidly on the island of Bali, makes PT PLN (Persero)seek strategic steps in serving customers. Gilimanuk - Negara - Antosari Reconductoring SUTT150 kV is one of the efforts made by PT PLN (Persero) to improve the reliability of the BaliElectricity System which is used to overcome power evacuation problems in the future.Reconductoring goes through a one-month trip phase in each circuit. For this reason, a study isneeded to identify the electricity system readiness by using a power flow analysis simulatorapplication.The simulation is done by extinguishing each of the 150 kV conductors in the BaliElectricity System alternately by taking into account four scenario namely before conducting areconductor, reconductor circuit 1, reconductor circuit 2, and after reconductor. Voltagerecording is carried out on each bus with a tolerance of + 5% Vnom, recording of the load iscarried out on each active 150 kV conductor with a maximum capacity of 80% Inom. The resultsof the simulation show that the anomaly is only obtained when the simulation of circuit 1reconductor works if SUTT 150 kV Gilimanuk - Celukan Onion trip, causing a load exceeding80% Inom on SUTT 150 kV Gilimanuk - Pemaron and SUTT Gilimanuk - Negara - Antosari 2.

Abstract

The transformer is the main equipment that is very important at the substation.However, sometimes there can be damage to the transformer used. Damage to the transformerwill be able to disrupt the distribution of electricity, so it must get the right security, determiningthe right relay setting is an attempt to protect equipment, system security and consumer needsfrom possible disruption in the distribution system. In some roles, efforts to protect the powertransformer if there is a short circuit between phase and phase to the ground, then this study willstudy the coordination of the security system of power transformers in Padang Sambian mainsubstation. The results of the calculation of overcurrent relay (OCR) on the 150KV transformerthat has been done is obtained the results of the CT primary side current setting of 254.1 A andfor the secondary side of 3.178 A. For the actual working time of the relay is 0.91 seconds, if thecurrent exceeds value of this setting there will be a trip. The results of the calculation ofovercurrent relay (OCR) on the 20KV transformer that has been done is obtained the results ofthe CT primary side current setting of 1905 A and for the secondary side is obtained for 4.76 A.For the actual working time relay result is 3.69 seconds, if the current exceeds the value of thissetting there will be a trip.

Abstract

The large starting current in the starting process has the potential to damage theinduction motor. In minimizing the risk of damage, proper starting methods are needed. TheDirect On Line (DOL) method is a starting method commonly used in induction motors becauseof its economical installation and high work efficiency. The starting method which also has goodwork efficiency is the Variable Speed Drive (VSD). There needs to be a comparative analysisbetween the two methods to find out how the performance of the two methods is.Research results, the ongoing performance of the two starting methods on the fanmotor for cooling towers shows that the performance of the VSD method is superior to that ofthe DOL method. Starting performance on an induction motor can be seen from the efficiencyand economic value of the DOL and VSD methods. This performance is of course taking intoaccount the current, rotation speed and the resulting output power.

Abstract

Turbine is a component that plays an important role as an energy converter to be ableto generate electricity in the Micro Hydro Power Plant (MHP). The turbine used in this prototypeis a Pelton tubine. The Pelton turbine is a type of impulse turbine consisting of two blades as aprelude receiver for water jets from the nozzles by utilizing high water heads even though thewater discharge is small. This research will discuss the effect of the number of blades on therotation produced by the Pelton turbine and generator so that it can be seen the voltage,current, power produced that affects the torque value and efficiency obtained on the prototypeMHP. This study aims to obtain a turbine runner with the number of blades that can produce thehighest efficiency, then a variation of the pelton turbine runner is made with different number ofblade parameters from the runner with the number of blades according to the calculationobtained from the reference. Variations in the number of blades used are 14 blades, 16 blades,18 blades, 20 blades, and 22 blades. The results showed that the addition of the number ofblades starting from the smallest caused the performance of MHP to increase, the highestoutput obtained was using a turbine runner with a number of 22 blades which resulted in aturbine rotation of 852.2 rpm before the generator coupled and 497.2 rpm after coupling thegenerator. Generator rotation is 2133.8 rpm, Generator Voltage is 15.72 volts, Generator poweris 33.7 Watts and Torque is 0.6 Nm. The efficiency value using a runner with a number ofblades 22 is 4.54%. The resulting efficiency value is very low because the MHP prototype in generation is less effective and uses a small generation capacity DC generator, so it cannotgenerate power as much as hydraulic power.

Abstract

The Sanda feeder is supplied by Antosari Substation through transformer unit II and ithas 3 reclosers, they are pempatan recloser,bangsing recloser and palisan recloser. Based onthe 2017 disturbance fault recapitulation data from PT PLN (Persero) Bali, it has been phasephaseand 1-phase ground short circuit in Sanda feeders almost every month. One of theproblems that often occurs in Sanda Feeders is when a phase-phase and 1-phase ground faultoccurs at the end of the feeder network and causes simultaneous trips to the recloser at thebase of feeder network, causing the Sanda feeder relay to blackout. This shows the systemneed to analyze the evaluation of the coordination settings for the OCR and GFR protectionsystem on the recloser and Sanda Feeder relays to minimize disturbances so as to improveservice continuity. The analysis and simuation results represent that, the existing settingconditions of OCR and GFR has coincide coordination curves and the grading time is still below0.3 seconds. The calculation and simulation of OCR and GFR that are carried out show that theprotection system works selectively in the absence of coincide coordinating curves and a timegrading value above 0.3 seconds according to the IEC 60255 standard.
