Abstract

The need for electricity in Bali is increasing along with the growth of technology and developmentin Bali, so the quality of electricity distribution to customers must also be improved. This study took anexample from the 2018 case, Palapa Feeder used 2 reclosers which had an index value that did not meetthe standard of the reliability index value. When the Palapa Feeder only used LBS, SAIFI value was2.1055 and SAIDI was 7.2960, when the LBS was changed to recloser the SAIFI value was 1.203 andSAIDI was 4.091. When a recloser was added again the SAIFI value became 1.016 and SAIDI became3.4088. The use of 2 reclosers on a feeder is less effective, because if they are placed at a close distance,then there will be two devices work simultaneously when there is a disturbance so that the area which isnot affected by the disturbance will also experience a power outage. Therefore it is necessary to design arecloser placement point in order to obtain lower reliability index value in order to meet the PLN standard(SPLN) No. 68-2: 1986, World Class Company standards, World Class Service standards, and alsoobtained the optimum recloser location and more efficient.The design of recloser placement is carried out using the Quantum Genetic Algorithm method,which is an evolutionary algorithm based on the concept of quantum bits (qubits). The purpose of thismethod is to minimize the SAIDI and SAIFI value in order to obtain lower reliability index and meet thestandards in order to obtain an optimum recloser location. The results of the recloser placement designusing the QGA method show that the local optimum recloser location is in section 2 at point 56 with thehighest fitness value is 4.9715 and a SAIDI value is 1.8951 decreased by 44.4% and SAIFI value is 0.9978decreased by 1, 78%, and it is proven that the recloser placement design using the QGA method hassucceeded in obtaining local optimum with better SAIDI SAIFI index results and has met the PLN (SPLN)standard No. 68-2: 1986 with SAIDI 3,33 and SAIFI 1,2 and also meets World Class Company and WorldClass Service standards with SAIFI 3 (times/customer/year) and SAIDI 1,66 (hours/customer/year).

Abstract

Transformer failure may interrupt the electrical power delivery and causing a very highcost to the utility. In order to prevent failure in the transformer, continuous condition monitoringof a power transformer is necessary. Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) has been well knownmethod for transformer condition monitoring. A number of techniques have been developed inorder to assist engineers in interpreting the DGA test results. In this research, interpretation ofDGA test results using Fuzzy Logic approach based on Duval's Triangle is introduced. TheFuzzy Logic was developed based on the mapping of the different areas within the DuvalTriangle. The program validation was carried out by comparing the output program with thesimulated fault condition. The analysis results indicated that the introduced approach hassuccessfully determined the condition of the tested transformers. This approach, thus, wouldprovide advantages over the conventional method in determining the transformer condition.

Abstract

Pelton turbine is an impulse turbine that is different from other turbines where the peltonturbine utilizes a large high water fall (head), even with a small water discharge. The problemwith Pelton turbine is that the head is still difficult to control because this type of turbine uses ahigh head to rotate the turbine runner and there is no formula / equation to determine the angleof the nozzle which produces maximum output. Based on the problems described, it isnecessary to make a micro hidro power plant prototype using a pelton turbine with a laboratoryscale so that it can do the testing of the influence of water and the nozzle angle to obtainmaximum output results on a micro hidro power plant using a pelton turbine. The prototypetesting in this study used various water pressures, namely 5 psi, 9 psi, 13 psi, 17 psi, 21 psi,and 25 psi with nozzle angles, namely 60º, 75º, and 90º. Based on the results of the study, anincrease in the value of water pressure provided with an optimal nozzle angle will cause themicro hidro power plant performance to increase. The maximum output obtained is when thewater pressure is 25 psi with a nozzle angle of 90º which produces a turbine rotation of 917 rpmbefore the generator is coupled and 326 rpm after the generator is coupled, the generatorrotation is 1321 rpm, the generator voltage is 12.9 Volts, generator power is 30.96 Watt, torque is 0.98 Nm, and the highest efficiency occurs when the water pressure is 21 psi with a nozzleangle of 90º which is 3.91%.

Abstract

Nowadays electric vehicles begin to grow and are supported by improved batterytechnology such as smaller size and capable of storing large amounts of energy. One type ofsimple electric vehicle is an electric bicycle. This paper reviews the availability of batteries andbattery chargers for electric bicycles in Indonesia. The review includes a discussion on thetechnical specifications, manufacturer, the vendor of the battery, and battery charger. Thesurvey produced a data consists of 117 batteries and 54 chargers and then processed to obtainstatus on the availability in the domestic market. The information regarding the availability ofbatteries and battery chargers for electric bicycles is expected to be used as a quick referencefor the community in choosing batteries and battery chargers for electric bicycles and canprovide an overview to stakeholders about the status of batteries and chargers in conductingresearch and development of batteries and charging equipment for electric vehicles.

Abstract

In this study aims to analyze the use of Community radio frequency (Rakom) in Denpasar and byanalyzing the number of channels allocated frequency and the amount of authorized community radioauthorization in the city of Denpasar. It is hoped that the study is expected to give an overview of howavailability community radio channels in Denpasar City area. To be able to avoid interference in theservice area on radio community broadcasts in the city of Denpasar. Conducted analysis andsimulation of mapping of new LPK Radio services (community broadcasting institutions). Themeasured parameters include the calculation of the Budget link and the measurement results obtainedin the field which is then compared with the theory. Based on the results of simulated analysismapping and calculations used, in the area of Denpasar city there can only be 2 (two) radiocommunities.

Abstract

Stanford University Interim (SUI) is a propagation model developed by the institute ofElectrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). SUI propagation is divided into three conditions,namely conditions A, B and C. Of the three conditions, there is a correction factor (shadowfading) caused by buildings and trees whose values are 8.2 - 10.6 dB. This research willanalyze the comparison of the shadow fading value in the SUI propagation model. The methodused is a simulation using radio atoll planning and drive test measurements on the BTSLTE_Kampus_Udayana, LTE_Jimbaran and LTE_GapuraUdayanaRoad in the Bukit Jimbaranarea. The results of the drive test will be compared with the simulation in Conditions A, B and Cand look for the shadow fading value. The results obtained are for BTS LTE_Kampus_Udayana,LTE_Jimbaran and LTE_GapuraUdayanaRoad closer to condition A with an average differenceof -6.45 dBm, this is supported by the conditions in the three BTS settings where the contoursare hilly and the intensity of the trees and the buildings are high to moderate. As for the shadowfading value, the simulation results were obtained at 8.31 dB and the drive test was 11.47 dB.

Abstract

An electric power system will get overload disturbance if a plant that was previouslyable to supply power to a system that is outage, causes other plants that are still operating tohave the entire load of the system. This study aims to see the performance of under frequencyrelay (UFR) that has been installed in the Bali system in overcoming overload disturbances,namely in the form of generator outages according to the scenario that has been made. Themethod used is to model the load shedding scheme using UFR in software and run according tothe scenario. The scenario referred to is a disturbance that causes one or more generators toexperience blackouts due to disturbances. The results of the analysis show that under thefrequency relay (UFR) installed in the Bali system it cannot return the system frequency to itsnormal state, namely the system has a shortage of generating power with a steady statefrequency below 49.8 Hz in the 3rd, 4th fault scenarios. , and the 5th while the system hasexcess power generation with a stable state frequency above 50.2 Hz at the 9th and 10thdisturbances.

Abstract

The important thing to consider in the process of sending optical fiber network signals is theselection of line coding types. Line coding is a process of converting digital data into digital signals sothat they can be transmitted in optical fiber networks. Line codings commonly used are NRZ and RZ.Therefore, this research discussed the comparison of the performance of NRZ and RZ line codings infiber-optic networks in terms of Q-Factor, BER, and Eye Diagram. The result of this research was thecharacteristic form of the electric signal line coding NRZ with one data element using one signalelement, while in the RZ coding line, one data element used two signal elements. The maximum risetime variable using the RZ coding line is 0.3 bits, while the NRZ coding line is 0.7 bits. The bestrectangle shape model using line coding RZ is sine while line coding NRZ is exponential. Themaximum bit rate using the RZ coding line is 11.5 Gbps while using the NRZ coding line is 18 Gbps.The maximum transmission distance using the RZ and NRZ coding line is 75 km. Another output ofthis research is a practicum module that can be used by students of the Electrical Engineering StudyProgram to understand optical communication systems, especially line coding RZ and NRZ. Based onthe results of student assessments of 87.6% and the post-test score which is higher than the pre-testscore, the practicum module is feasible as teaching material.

Abstract

This study proposes a design of simulation program for implementing Bose ChaudhuriHocquenghem (BCH) code on Direct Sequence Spread Specterum (DSSS) to knowing theperformance of the effect of DSSS with flat fading channel and AWGN without BCH code (7,4)with the application of BCH code (7,4) on DSSS with flat fading and AWGN channel. Thissimulation consist of simulation of BER application of BCH code (7,4) on DSSS with flat fadingand AWGN channel, simulation of BER application code BCH (7,4) on DSSS with AWGNchannel, simulation of the effect of Eb/No on noise variance in the DSSS system, and BERsimulation as a function of noise variance on the DSSS system. Simulation of application BCHcode (7,4) on DSSS with flat fading and AWGN channel analyzed based on Bit Error Rate(BER) versus Energy Bit per Noise (Eb/No). The application of BCH code (7,4) on DSSS withflat fading channel and AWGN shows better performance than DSSS with flat fading channelsand AWGN without BCH coding (7,4). On the Eb/No value 10 dB, simulation application BCHcode (7,4) on DSSS with flat fading channel and AWGN generate BER value which isapproaching 0 with BER value 0.0188, while the DSSS simulation with flat fading channel andAWGN without BCH code (7.4) generate a BER value of 0.0228.

Abstract

Ground fault currents that flow in the disturbance area and in the switchyard area of theSubstation create tension on the ground which can result in touch voltage and step voltage thatexceed the allowable limits of human safety. The thickness of the coral rock affects the value ofthe touch voltage and step voltage. This research was conducted to determine the effect of thethickness of the coral rock on clay and sandy soil on stepvvoltage anddtouchvvoltage.Themethod used is by measuring coral, clay soils and sandy soils, then calculating thevvalueofttouch voltageaand stepvvoltage based on the thickness of the coral used. The results ofcalculations and analysis of several thicknesses of coral stones used in clay soil, obtained theresults of the touch voltage in the dry state of 153.5615 volts and in the wet state of 152.0702volts, the results of the step voltage in the dry state 188.5057 volts and in the w et state 182 ,8265 volts. On sandy soil, the results of the touch voltage are 153.6893 volts in dry conditionand 152.1981 volts in wet conditions, the results of the step voltage in dry conditions are189.141 volts and in wet conditions 183.4349 volts.
