The purpose of this study is to describe the religious attitudes of the Muslim amid COVID-19 outbreak. Many muslims are very depressed, because the government and related authorities are trying to ban worship activities in mosques during COVID-19 pandemic. Many Muslims find it hard to leave their custom of worship together at the mosque. Many of them are still praying together in the mosque. This phenomenon is the object of the study. The results show that the pattern of worship activities carried out by Muslims amid COVID-19 pandemic has changed. At the surface level, it appears that mosques tend to be empty and closed. At a deeper level, we see a unique pattern that involves four variables: the obligation of worship, the worship participation, the encouragement of social distancing, and the rationality of Muslims.

The fact that the reformation having been running for more than two decades is still found being influencial in Indonesia today. One of the impacts is the opening of spaces for religious expression in public sphere in the name of democratization. The experience of Jamaah An-Nadzir is an exmple in wich this study is beeing carried out. This work is intended to explore the public response to Jamaah An-Nadzir's existence as a non-maintstream Islamic religious community in the Mawang area, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi as the product of the reformation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research approach, with data research methods through observation, interviews and literature studies related to the object of study. Three forms of paradoxical response of society in seeing the existence of Jamaah An-Nadzir were found in this work. First, there is a response to the resistance of th representatives of religious figures who reject the reasons for Islamic reasons, while there are those who accept that they are a community that only has different understanding in Islam or khilafiyah. Second, the response of the surrounding community shows that they tend to accept the An-nadzir community and enter into land management although a few people reject the strange name of the community and show an acceptional understanding to their physical appearance. Third, the local government's persuasive response to An-Nadzir is supported by a community empowerment approach in social and economic aspects. Likewise, the flow of democratization as an external factor cannot be separated from the existence of communities, Jamaah An-Nadzir was no exception. Thus, An-nadzir's existence can be accepted today, although they still has resistance from several elements. This study suggests the need for further study of this kind of religious community which is still undocumented, so that it can be mapped geographically for the life of the nation and state in the democratization era.

This study focuses on how the adaptation efforts and survival strategies of local communities in Indonesia to the non-natural pressure on nature and the value of their local wisdom in protecting and preserving the environment. Anthropological, ecological, and related literature on local communities are used as a review and analytical framework. The selected local communities are the Mentawai tribe, the slopes of Mount Merapi, and the Balinese in Indonesia. These three case studies show that the adaptations and strategies carried out by local communities are diverse and have different knowledge implications. The Mentawai tribe in maintaining the tradition of arat sabulungan and Balinese in revitalizing Wariga can adjust and adapt well when faced with natural ecological cycles and non-natural penetration. That is because its application is more flexible, practical, and intellectual than putting forward the device of beliefs and myths. While the case of the local community on the slopes of Merapi, which has local significance in the form of cosmological teachings in disaster management, tends to prioritize faith that is rooted more in myth than knowledge related to the objective world. Therefore, when this set of knowledge in local wisdom struggles to surpass marginalized status, the two cases of the Mentawai and Balinese communities can become persuasive and adaptive. In contrast, the local community on the slopes of Merapi is more challenging to adapt. The study also recommends that it is time for traditional knowledge originating from local wisdom in Indonesia to be adapted, modified and used as an essential resource in managing contemporary environmental issues effectively and collaboratively.

The purpose of this paper explains critically related to one's journey to perform Hajj and Umrah (pilgrimage) concerning individual piety in the crowd (globalization and capitalization) of religious rituals. Hajj and Umrah are not only spiritual journeys that have personal ethical values. Hajj and Umrah can educate someone to be patient, calm, and more submissive to God. Hajj and Umrah also teach the perpetrators to be generous, have social sensitivity, and care with fellow human beings. The writing method in this paper is ethnographic-sociological. This paper's data is based on literature, observations, and interviews with pilgrims and Umrah from Indonesia in 2014 and 2018. This paper finds that the Hajj and Umrah are also closely related to the political economy problems administered by the state and the private sector, in addition to educating the perpetrators to be pious. Hajj and Umrah can thus be said to have two sides at once, namely individual piety and social class.

This reseach examines the role of religious leaders in public health in the context of Covid-19 management. There are two arguments in this study. First, in the context of a religious society, religious leaders can play a socio-religious role through public health education. Second, the role will be effective as religious leaders analyze the media for providing da'wah public health material in accordance with the characteristics of the population. This article uses a descriptive method of analysis, which systematically describes facts and factual data. The data is then processed in a descriptive way to show how a phenomenon works. The primary data collected are The BPS survey on Community members’ behaviours on Covid-19 pandemic (BPS, 2020) and FGDs, analysed in the frame of related literature review. Results are reported in descriptive qualitative analysis. It is found that the community members’ obidinece on the Covid-19 health protocol is well influenced by the roles of sosial media, religious leaders’ suggestions, the population demographic characteristics and the enforcement of setup rules and policy.

This study aims to analyze the importance of a social entrepreneurship approach and celestial entrepreneurship in the midst of Islamic societies in Indonesia. Empirically, Indonesia as a country with the largest Muslim population in the world has great potential in developing community empowerment programs, especially in the Covid-19 pandemic situation which has created many new layers of indigent society. However, at the same time the availability of literature that examines social entrepreneurship as an important instrument of community development is relatively rare. Methodologically, this research is a library research conducted using literature in various forms, which are positioned equally depending on the connection with the main research topic. The results of this study indicate that developing a social entrepreneurship ecosystem that promotes innovation and collaboration is one of the solutions to overcome social problems that occur in the midst of the Indonesian Muslim community. In addition, this study also concludes that entrepreneurial practices carried out by the Muslim community are part of social responsibility, where the overall practice must be framed by Islamic values that prioritize the social dimension of humanity rather than being solely oriented to personal financial benefits.

The diversity of religious practices forms a new pattern, where each community is challenged to be 'in tune' with the current trend and situation. The pattern challenges each community to compete with others to provide good bargaining power so the audience is in the discourse that they produced. To propagate hijrah discourse, Taubah Muslim (Community’s name is disguised) community uses fashion as a strategy in da’wah activism. Taubah Muslim hijrah community is a community that persuades millennials to hijrah through da'wah. Fashion in this context is positioned as a medium as well as a 'new way' to approach the da'wah target. This article puts fashion as a social practice in which there are forms of representation and expression of Islamic values. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this article highlights how fashion is used and chosen by agents in da’wah arena as a strategy to reproduce hijrah discourse. Based on Pierre Bourdieu's social practice theory, the results of the analysis conclude that fashion is used as a placement strategy to encourage perceptions of shared identity. Furthermore, fashion functionally is used as an acculturation technique to approach the da'wah target (young generation). The choice of fashion as a da'wah strategy is based on habitus and capital owned by agents in the da'wah arena. Then, Fashion is treated as a representation of other meanings that are presented by agents to create reality, which is based on their habitus and capital. The existence of capital becomes an important thing for the community to maintain, strengthen, and differentiate (distinction) with others in achieving a dominant position, namely in terms of propagative hijrah discourse
