Abstract

The study was carried out to evaluate the influence of smartphone attributes on student’s buying decision in Lagos State Tertiary Institutions. Research design adopted was purely descriptive, employing cross sectional survey method in data collection. Data for the study were generated through the use of structured questionnaire and administered to a sample of 362 out of 3,792 students in selected tertiary institutions in Lagos State. Data collected were analyzed using Multiple Regression Analysis. The results showed that all smartphone attributes considered in the study were found to be positively and significantly related to student’s buying decision. Specifically, technology attribute has highest impact on student’s buying decisions, followed by application and price attributes. The study concluded that technology, application and price are considered the most top three attributes that significantly influenced student’s buying decision of Smartphone. It was recommended that firms should focus on improving their technology in other to bring about innovative features and application, and more importantly adopt variety of price strategies while not neglecting the image and design attributes, as these were regarded as secondary attributes in determining consumers’ choice of Smartphone. https://doi.org/10.26905/jmdk.v6i1.1938

Abstract

Jatiroto Sugar Factory is the largest business unit owned by PTPN XI, the performance of Jatiroto Sugar Factory is the foundation of the company's survival because it has the largest sugar production capacity among other business units.This study aims to analyze the effect of work conflicts, work stress, organizational commitment and employee performance at Jatiroto Sugar Factory. This research is an explanatory research. The population in this study are employees of permanent status and has worked at least 2 years as many as 150 people.The results shows that : 1) Work conflicts have significant effect on organizational commitment of employees; 2) Work stress significantly influences organizational commitment of employees; 3) Work conflicts significantly affect employee performance; 4) Work stress had a direct but not significant effect on employee performance; 5) Organizational commitment has a significant effect on employee performance at Jatiroto Sugar Factory. https://doi.org/10.26905/jmdk.v6i1.1985

Abstract

Recently, the sugar industry is facing a very tight market competition. This condition encourages companies to improve quality and competitiveness immediately through improvement of  customer satisfaction consistently and continuously. The purpose of this research is to examine and discuss the effect of knowledge sharing in applying ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System to the performance of employees innovation and performance at Jatiroto Sugar Factory. Data obtained through questionnaires as 130 respondents with proportional stratified random sampling. Data analysis uses The Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The result of the research shows a significant influence between : 1) knowledge sharing on the implementation of ISO 9001:2008; 2) knowledge sharing on innovation performance, 3) knowledge sharing on employee performance, 4) implementation of ISO 9001:2008 on innovation performance, and 5) implementation of ISO 9001:2008 on employee performance. The indirect effect was found a significant in knowledge sharing on innovation performance through the application of ISO 9001:2008. However, there is no influence of knowledge sharing on employee performance through the application of ISO 9001:2008. https://doi.org/10.26905/jmdk.v6i1.2045

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the number of MSMEs and the growth of labor to tax revenue. This research finds that the number of MSMEs has a significant effect on tax revenue. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the direct and indirect effect of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, trust, and repurchase intention of customer Go-Jek online transportation in Malang. This study uses questionnaires as the research instrument with 120 respondents as the sample. Sampling technique is purposive sampling. This study uses Partial Least Square (PLS) to analyzed the data. The result shows that there is a significant direct effect on perceived ease of use on perceived usefulness, trust, and repurchase intention. In addition, trust has a significant influence on repurchase intention. This study also confirms that trust partially mediates the influence of perceived ease of use on repurchase intention. The other result shows that there is no significant relationship between perceived usefulness on repurchase intention and perceived usefulness is unable to accomodate the relationship of mediation between perceived ease of use on repurchase intention.  https://doi.org/10.26905/jmdk.v6i1.2067

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the direct and indirect effect of hedonic value, utilitarian value, word of mouth, and behavioral intention of consumer in Casa Baio Paradise Resort, Sulawesi Utara. This study uses questionnaires as the research instrument with 108 respondents as the sample. Sampling technique is purposive sampling. This study uses Partial Least Square (PLS) to analyzed the data. The result shows that there are : 1) a significant direct effect of hedonic value to word of mouth; 2) utilitarian value to word of mouth; 3) utilitarian value and word of mouth to behavioral intention. This study also confirm that word of mouth full mediates the influence of hedonic value to behavioral intention and partial mediates the influence of utilitarian value to behavioral intention. Abstract

Performance appraisal system aims to guide the employee in achieving company's goals. The objective of this study  are : 1) to directly analyze the effectiveness of performance appraisal system in influencing work satisfaction, work motivation, and employee performance; 2) to directly analyze the effectiveness of work satisfaction and work motivation in influencing employee performance;3) to indirectly analyze the effectiveness of performance appraisal system in influencing employee performance through work motivation and work satisfaction as the intervening variables. Performance appraisal system is implemented only to the employees with superior position in a company, not to those who are subordinates. Thus, the promotion is not targeted to the individual with the biggest contribution in the process of achieving company's goals. Primary data are collected by distributing questionnaires to the respondents using purposive sampling technique. The sample are consisted of 110 employees of the engineering division at Wringinanom Sugar Factory, Indonesia. Data are analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results of the study show that the performance appraisal system has a direct and significant effect on work satisfaction, work motivation, and employee performance, and it has an indirect significant effect on employee performance through work motivation and work satisfaction as the intervening variables.https://doi.org/10.26905/jmdk.v6i1.2090

Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain the meaning of change in hijab culture in society and how the role of these values change on the implementation of differentiation-focus strategy and its effect in improving business performance. This research is conducted  on small business hijab Faiz Collection in Manyar District Gresik. This research approach is a case study with qualitative descriptive research method. The findings of the study indicate that the meaning of change in hijab culture is related to values on the hijab. The first value is cultural value, formed by: 1) religious system, 2) social     organization     system,            and 3) knowledge system. The second value is hijab value, formed by: 1) religious system, 2) community norms, 3) requirements, and 4) benefits. The third value is business value, formed by: 1) consumption activities, 2) production activities and 3) distribution activities. The effect of changing needs on hijab (from hijab standard to the syar'i hijab) to business performance is the increasing sales doubled compared with the standard hijab sales.  https://doi.org/10.26905/jmdk.v6i1.2151

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of liquidity, profitability, growth opportunity, company size and capital structure to company value. The population of this research is food and beverage companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange period 2012 – 2016. The technique used in sampling is purposive sampling. The sample in this study is nine companies. Data analysis using SmartPLS. The result of this study shows that growth opportunity and company size have positive and significant influence to company value. Profitability and capital structure have negative and significant influence to company value. Liquidity has positive and not significant influence to company value. Liquidity and profitability have negative and significant influence to capital structure. Growth opportunity and company size have positive and not significant influence to capital structure. Capital structure as an intervening variable from liquidity and profitability to company value, but not for growth opportunity and company size to company value. https://doi.org/10.26905/jmdk.v6i1.2155
