Abstract

In the era of globalization critical literacy skills possessed by students. Ironically literacy in Indonesia is very low. Learning history is integrated with geography expected to improve the literacy history skills of students departement social studies. Traffic literacy can make students understand the history of local history in the surrounding environment and have a critical attitude towards historical environment. This study is a qualitative research. The study was conducted at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The subjects were students of the fifth semester majoring departement social studies class A. Data collection research using observation sheets, interviews, documentation and assessment indexes based on historical literacy. Analysis of the data using the model of Miles and Huberman. Based on observations conducted by researchers, the first and second meetings of learning to do without integrated with geography. The result is the literacy skills at an early stage of history to understand the events that indexes and narrative of the past. The third and fourth meetings learning is done by integrating the science of history with geography. The result is the development of historical literacy students be perfect cover 12 index are to understand the events, narratives, research skills, language history, the concept of history, an understanding of ICT, connect, debate and disagreement, the representation of expression, moral judgment, the application of scientific and historical explanation. Abstract

In the process of education, teachers play an important role as a determinant of the achievement of educational goals. The learning process in the classroom is seen to play an important role when serving learners in learning. Pedagogic competence is the ability to manage the learning of learners which includes students' understanding, design and implementation of learning, evaluation of learning outcomes, and development of participants. Teachers will build a positive attitude in learning, generate curiosity, encourage independence and accuracy of intellectual logic, and create conditions for learning. Therefore, teachers are expected to be able to design activities, communication, and association that leads to learning. Interest, talent, ability, and potential learners will not develop optimally without the help of teachers. Learners one and the other there are basic characteristics, then the teacher must pay attention to individual characteristics of learners. Characteristics of students, ie (a) individuals possessing typical physical and psychical potentials, (b) developing individuals, (c) individuals requiring individual guidance and humane treatment, (d) the individual has the ability to be independent. The problems faced by the teacher about the lack or inability to master the characteristics of learners when implementing the learning, among others: (1) inability to master the characteristics of moral-emotional aspects of learners, (2) lack of mastery of socio-cultural aspects of learners, (3) lack of control (4) lack of mastering the intellectual aspect of the learner, (5) lack of mastering the moral aspect of the learner, (6) there is some kind of child character when learning. Efforts by teachers to integrate values and attitudes education in schools can be done using several approaches, according to Amri (2011: 89) are: (1) cul-tivation of values, (2) cognitive development, (3) self-clarification, (4) learning do.DOI: 10.17977/um022v3i12018p027

Abstract

This research article aims to analyze the needs of traditional coastal fishermen empowerment in North Minahasa Regency North Sulawesi Province based on economic education and coastal potential. This research uses descriptive qualitative research design using survey method, field observation, interview and Focus Group Discussion. Research subjects are coastal fishermen of Minahasa Utara amounting to 40 fishermen spread in 3 sub-districts of East Likupang Subdistrict, Kema District and Wori Sub-district of North Minahasa Regency which has capture capacity of 5 Gross Ton downward. The results of the needs analysis are identified in the observation, in-depth interviews and the Focus group Discussion which confirmed by the survey results showed that 85% of fishermen need knowledge and understanding of the characteristics, attitudes and principles to become successful entrepreneurs who can be implemented in productive activities in the coastal, 90% require knowledge of business diversification based on coastal and marine potentials (fishermen alternative business), 90% stated that they need knowledge and understanding of processing of fish processing products as coastal and marine potential, because of abundant raw materials, 80% requiring literacy on how to build business partnerships and business networks with other business groups, 90% stated that they need literacy on establishing a joint venture group of fishermen and how to develop the business group. 92, 5% Fishermen need literacy on venture capital and access to venture capital and 85% say they are in need of money management, planning for proper financial allocations and saving procedures KeywordsNeeds Analysis, Fishermen Empowerment, Economic Education, Coastal Potential.  http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um022v2i22017p095

Abstract

The learning objectives of Pancasila and Citizenship should be used as a way in increasing nationalism, and that form of nationalism should be embodied in concerning of public policy. Every Indonesian citizen participates in increasing society’s life which is fair, peaceful, and prosperous in Pancasila and Citizenship subject, the researcher asks the students to make LOC (Letter of Concern) video which should be uploaded on YouTube. The authorities are also expected to be able in taking wise public decisions. This research method is using literature study that is finding theory reference which is relevant with a case or problems that is found. Abstract

Uncovering the function and role of geography, is useful to (1) cultivate an attitude of awareness and concern for the environment and resources. (2) Increasing Tolerance to socio-cultural awareness for the community. Historical heritage is a vehicle that is suited to make it happen. Turen, ancient city in Indonesia has a history of the area should retain identity, safeguard the environment, natural resources, history, and human. Abstract

Efforts to strengthen the character become the basis in the implementation of the curriculum 2013. Application of the 2013 curriculum provides a paradigm shift, which in the end result of learning students not only master the knowledge but also master the attitude and skills. One of the two characters developed is curiosity and social care. To form the character, it needs an educational instrument such as a competent teacher, adequate learning resources, and the most important is the action of learning in the form of approach, model, method, or appropriate learning strategy. So the application of discovery learning model with scientific approach. Abstract

This article aims to describe the role of religious tourism in the grave of Gus Dur in building the socio-economic life of the community around Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang and analyzing the socio-economic life. To achieve that goal, a qualitative descriptive approach is used. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentary study. Data were analyzed by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The result of the research shows that religious tourism of Gus Dur grave is very important in building the socio-economic life of the community around Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang, especially since Gus Dur is buried in the cottage area because of the many pilgrims coming from various regions so that the surrounding community can take advantage of the opportunity to establish various kinds Kinds of business based on Islamic principles. Abstract

This study aims to increase students' motivation in learning Social Sciences through the implementation of cooperative learning model Group Investigation. The method used in this research is the Classroom Action Research are implemented in the first cycle and the second cycle. Each cycle consists of five convened four meetings in the classroom one meeting outside of instructional hours. The type of action taken is learning social studies using cooperative learning model type Group Investigation. Results of research conducted showed an increase in student motivation in the first cycle the percentage reached 77% criterion of "High" and the second cycle the percentage reached 96% criterion of "Very High". Happened percentage increase of 19%. Abstract

Project Based Learning model based on local potential is a project-based learning model, the resulting project is a business proposal, processed food products and packaging labels and small business practices in the School. Food processing products produced are foods or beverages that utilize the local potential of agricultural products in Malang. Potential of Malang area include agricultural products spread in Malang area that is apple, strawberry, orange juice, bark, banana, sweet potato. The last project is a small business practice formed by several students who work with school cooperatives. This small business is a temporary business that is practiced in schools with business actors are the students who are formed in several groups, the activity is to sell the results of the food processing business project in the school cooperative. Processed food products can be produced food, snacks or drinks. The learning model is applied to the subjects of entrepreneurship and is the subject of knowledge transfer that is taught in all majors at the senior high school or vocational high school level, where the material contained in the subjects consists of four aspects: craft, engineering, cultivation and processing. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning model on geography problem-solving sklills. This research model is quasi experiment with non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of the study were the students of XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Pulau Laut Timur, academic year 2016/2017. The assessment instrument is an essay test based on an indicator of problem solving skills, ie (1) identifying problems; (2) formulate the problem; (3) finding alternative solutions; (4) choose alternative solutions; and (5) make conclusions. Data analysis using independent sample t-test model with 5% significance level. The results showed that there is an influence of PBL model on geography problem-solving sklills. The geography problem-solving skills of experimental class with PBL model is higher than control class with conventional model.
