Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using by Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermented fruit skin flour in rations on broiler organs. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Research Station of Udayana University, Jimbaran, Badung, Bali for 5 weeks.Research using broilers type MB 202 take from PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk. One week old (DOC) as many as 90 tails with homogeneous body weight. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications, where each replication consisted of 5 broilers. The treatment tried in this study was RKBN0 ration without dragon fruit skin, RKBN1 ration with 5% fermented dragon fruit skin, RKBN2 ration with 7% fermented dragon fruit skin. Variables observed were heart weight, liver weight, spleen weight and bile weight. The results showed that the treatment of RKBN1 and RKBN2 received lower internal organs (heart, liver, spleen and bile) compared to RKBN0, but it was not statistically different (P> 0.05). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the use of dragon fruit peel flour as much as 5% and 7% no effect on broiler organs in the age of 5 weeks. Keywords :Broilers, internal organs, fermented dragon fruit skin flour,Saccharomyces cerevisie

Pig is one of potential commodity to develop some things must be pay more attention in this case are pen, feed, disease etc. One of disease that often infected pig is Miningitis Streptococcus suis (MSs), is also infected human being. This research aims to know attitud to the impact of Miningitis Streptococcus suis (MSs) disease at Abiansemal districk of Badung regency. The research conducted for 3 months. Ellection of location and determination of respondent used was Purposive Samplingwhich means sample was taken randomly. The number of respondents mean 35 pig breeders. Analysis of data used was descriptive qualitative analysis and correlation test spearman. The result of the research showed that attitude of pig breeders to the impact of Minigitis Streptococcus suis (MSs) is in the category positive. Factors related the attitude of the breeders to the impact of Minigitis Streptococcus suis (MSs) disease at Abiansemal district of Badung regency such as education, livestock owning and perception had significant corelationn (P<0,05) to the impact of Miningitis Streptococcus suis (MSs) disease . Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the effect of garlic (Allium sativum) on physical quality of eggs lohmann brown age 22-30 weeks. This research was conducted for 3 months at laying hens farm in Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan Sub-district, Tabanan Regency. 36 Lohmann Brown chickens with homogeneous weights were kept in 18 plots of batrey cages. The design used in this study was a complete randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications. The treatment consisted of drinking water without added garlic water extract (A) as control, drinking water with 3% extra garlic water extract (B) and drinking water with additional garlic water extract of 6% (C). The variables observed in this study were egg weight, percentage of egg white to egg weight, egg yolk percentage to egg weight, and percentage of egg shell to egg weight. The results showed the egg weight, egg yolk percentage and egg shell percentage in chicken has given garlic water extract was significantly heavier (P <0.05) compared with the controls, while in actual egg white percentage (P> 0.05) smaller than control. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the giving of garlic extract (Allium sativum) with 3% and 6% level through the drinking water can increase egg weight, egg yolk percentage, and egg shell percentage, and decrease percentage of chicken egg white Lohmann Brown age 22-30 weeks. Abstract

Pig waste that is not handled properly can be one of the triggers of environmental pollution. Behavior of pig breeders to date has not efficiently processed the waste product. The condition occurs because of lack of care for breeders on how to properly handle the waste. This study aimed to find out the behavior of breeder concerning pig waste treatment at Puhu Village, Payangan District, Gianyar Regency. The location was chosen Purposive with the reason that Puhu Village is a tourist village whose waste processing is not good yet. Respondents were determined by Quota Purposive Sampling, the number of respondents as many as 35 of pig breeders, five respondents for each dusun with the total number seven dusun at Puhu Village. Primary data were obtained from direct interviews and observations and secondary data were obtained from data recording in the Puhu Village Office. This study conducted from May till July 2018 at Puhu Village, Payangan District, Gianyar Regency. Data analysis in used by means of qualitative descriptive and Spearman level correlation coefficient test. The results showed that the behavior of breeder concerning pig waste treatmens is in medium category. The factors related to the behavior of breeder in pig waste treatmens such as age and number of livestock ownership have a non-significant corelation (P> 0,01). While education, building ownership, percepion, and motivation has avery significant corelation (P< 0,01)) with behavior of breeder in pig waste treatment. Sugestions that can be conveyed to the government is more active in providing counseling and training to breeders on the processing of pig waste. Breeders in order to increase their perception and motivation in processing pig waste through counseling assistance to minimize environmental pollution. Abstract

The study aimed to determine the correlation of body weight and body length with the size of Balinese pig testes that semi-traditionally maintained. This research was conducted in Banjar Losan, Takmung Village, Klungkung District, Klungkung Regency for 4 months. Nutritional analysis of Balinese pig feed was carried out in the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University, Denpasar. Research used 4 male pigs (not castrated) aged (3 months) with initial weight: pig I (5 kg), pig II (5kg), pig III (3.5 kg), and pig IV (3.5 kg). The study was conducted by analyzing the correlation coefficient, ie each pig measured body weight (X1), body length (X2), testicular length (Y1), and testicular width (Y2). The observed variables included body weight, body length, testicular length, and width testes. The results showed that there was a strong and statistically significant relationship between the correlation of body weight and body length with testicular size in male Balinese pigs. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that body weight and body length are positively and significantly correlated to the size of Balinese pig testes that are maintained in traditional cultures. Keywords: balinese pigs, correlation, weight, testis
