Abstract

n the Environmental Physics concentration, to implement the academic curriculum of Physics Department of FMIPA UNIMA, it had been made guidance in the book form to be used in performing the field practicum activity. The guidance had been utilized since the year 2001. However, the conventional activity apparently caused unfavorable risks to the students based on the efficiency of circulatory system so that the students could not attain the intended performance yet. Therefore, it has been arranged a new model of activity with several treatments by using the totally ergonomics approach. In order to test the capability of the activity compared with the conventional one, it had been done a research with the hypothesis: the intervention with the totally ergonomics approach decreases and the body core temperature of the student in the low land/hot area. This research was done by using the design of treatment by subject. The research has used 15 subjects as sample. The measurements of dependent variable were done in the beginning, among units of practicum, and the last on the end of period. The results of the research showed that the activity with the totally ergonomic approach could decrease fatigue and the body core temperature of the student significantly (p<0.05). With the decreasing of fatigue and body core temperature, it means that the activity is good biomechanically and thermally (in low land/hot area). The fatique and hyperthermia condition were responsible as the main cause of the low performance of the students. The activity with ergonomic intervention by using the totally ergonpomics approach succeeds in overcoming the fatigue and hyperthermia condition so that the performance of the students could increase considerably. Based on the research it can be concluded that the intervention with the totally ergonomic approach can: decrease fatigue and decrease body core temperature of the students in doing the field practicum activity. It can be suggested that in doing the activity with ergonomic intervention by using the totally ergonomic approach, principal requisites of every treatment must be fulfilled in order to achieve the intended goals.

Abstract

AbstractPlankton (phytoplankton and zooplankton) has an essential factor for aquatic ecosystem, because plankton is a primary food source for aquatic animals. This study was carried outin the Alas Strait, Sumbawa Regency on May 2012. Based on the data collected from 32stations, phytoplankton distributions (abundance and ecology indexes), water qualitycondition, and relationship between them were examined. Phytoplankton identificationresults show that a total of 25 species was found, and that species were classified into sevenclasses. Bacillariophyceae (diatom) was the dominant class found in the study area. Pearsoncorrelation indicated that water temperature, transparency, salinity, nitrate, and phosphatewere the parameters significantly affected on phytoplankton distribution and abundance. The results from this study could contribute on the development marine aquaculture in thisregion in term of pearl aquaculture development.

Abstract

This study was a descriptive study aimed to describe the form of the utilization of palm and its products as well as economic value is given, while also seeing how the other benefits of ejection for the surrounding environment, as well as how the shape of preservation for plants papyrus remain. This study was conducted in five village spread over 2 sub-district in the city of Kupang Namely District of Kelapa Lima (Ex. Oesapa and Kel. Lasiana), District Maulafa (Ex. Maulafa, Ex. Naimata, Ex. Penfui). The results showed that the population of ejection in the city of Kupang decreased dramatically due to the logging in the region much overgrown palm trees for the construction of both the tourist and residential., Selin was also in the utilization of palm majority of people take advantage of ejection based on knowledge own. Forms of utilization of ejection by the public more on making laru (alcoholic beverage) compared to utilization in other forms such as the manufacture of sugar and liquid sugar plate. It also forms other uses by the community that is in the manufacture of woven still own consumption and has not been introduced to the outside world, although there is the result of webbing that has been introduced to the international level (sasando) but even that would be done by a small group, while when seen in a tree palm has many benefits that can help improve the local economy. Research results also showed a lack of government attention to forms of utilization of these palm trees. Lontar will have value and economic benefit is higher when papyrus was given attention and assistance for people in their utilization thus increase the economic value to the community beneficiaries ejection. Based on these results submitted suggestions like society, the government and all parties concerned to keep attention ejection as one of the typical existing plants NTT. For the government dfan the relevant agencies need to continue to do the socialization and assistance to the community in terms of pemafaatan, processing and marketing of products or product ejection to be better known by the outside world and also needs to be an understanding for the community in the efforts to the preservation of plants palm that because other than plant papyrus that have direct benefits, papyrus also has services for the environment, so that the existence of ejection is maintained.

Abstract

The destruction of nature is caused by the wrong human’s point of view towards neighbourhoods. Ecofeminism assumes the caused factor of nature destruction comes from patriarchy culture which more on dualistic logic, hierarchy and the fight for domination. The thought of patriarchy causes destruction of nature and oppression of woman. Ecofeminism thought is interesting to be researched because it offers alternative vision which more sociable and gender balanced. The aim of this research is to explicit, critically evaluate, formulate concept of ecofemisthics ethics thought comprehensively and to reveal new vision relating to keep forest preservation. The chosen literature is analyzed using philosophy method: description, interpretation, and holistic. The result of this research shows that nature preservation is lasting and oppression towards woman is stopped if society abandoned patriarchy thought. Ecofeminism develops the concept of care ethics holistically, interactively, non-reduction, and participatively. Principe of ethics which need to be concerned are responsibility towards the whole biosphere, cosmic solidarity, keeping balance with nature, equal relation, careens and simplicity. The excess of ecofeminism succed in realizing the danger of patriarchy thought towards woman and nature. The weakness of it is that it generalizes and universalizes feministhics values uniformity towards all women instead of a priory negative towards the quality of masculinity values. Ecofeminism develops human moral responsibility based on women special experiences.

Abstract

AbstractThis article aims to look at find out the existing condition of the way the community hanldetheir wastes, at the level of household, to analyse points which back the communityparticipation, having constrains of the handling of the existing wastes and waste-relatedproblems which the community of the respective city face. The questionaire-based survey, was engaged into the research as the survey method while the stratified random samplingwas engaged throughout the analysis of the same as the sampling technique. The resultsshows that existence of an operational public waste collecting system tends to lessen thewaste-related problem in the respondents’ residential enviroment. Four factors whichdifferentiate the respondents who participate from those who do not, in respect to wastetreatment are: behaviour of disposing waste to river, behaviour of burrying the wastes, theproblem of smell and the problem of river pollution. Existence of a good public wastecollecting system which can overcome the waste-related problems in the residentialenvironemnt of the community, can motivate the same to participate in better treating andmanage their wastes.
