Abstract

Tension-Type Headache (TTH) headache is a type of primary headache which mostly complained by patients. The pain often ignored due to low mortality rates. Inadequate management makes the pain becoming chronic and causing a high disability rate. Many factors involved in transforming infrequent tension-type headache to chronic tension-type headache. Abstract

Based on a study conducted by the WHO Global Burden of Disease in 2010 stated, OA ranks 11th, the cause of disability in the world, and ranks 6th in East Asia and the Asia-Pacific countries, ranked 10th in North America, ranked 7th in Eastern Europe , and ranked 13th in Western Europe. Pathogenesis of osteoarthritis (OA) as degenerative joint disease that was once thought caused by a mechanical process. The prevalence, etiology, pathogenesis and progression of OA are still not understood until now, mainly because of the many influencing factors. This type of research is a analytic study. It was conducted in Rheumatology Polyclinic Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from February to December 2019. Affordable research population is all genu osteoarthritis sufferers with effusion who go to Dr. RSUP Mohammad Hoesin Palembang as 80 samples. Comparison of NFATC1 mRNA levels in genu osteoarthritis patients with effusion shows that there is no difference in gender and history of diabetes, whereas hypertension history and degree of osteoarthritis based on Lawrence Kalgren shows significantly different expression of NFATC1 mRNA. Age with NFATC1 mRNA expression showed no significant correlation, in contrast to BMI, Stroke Test and joint effusion volume showed a weak significant correlation, even though the direction of the correlation was negative on Stroke Test and joint effusion volume.

Abstract

Back Ground: Hemifacial spasm is one of movement disorder case that commonly found in daily clinical practice. Epidemiological data are very limited, the average prevalence is 11 per 100,000 population, 14.5 per 100,000 in women and 7.4 per 100,000 in men. In Germany, the estimated prevalence is 8000 to 9000 peoples.1 The incidence of women is more than that of men with a ratio of 2:1. Based on Yaltho and Jankovic study in 2011, out of 215 patients, the ratio of men to women was 1:1.8.2 One study in Indonesia also reported that most of the subjects were female (64.7%).3 Treatment with botulinum toxin injections is preferred to microvascular decompression surgery therapy, but this injection is only effective in a few months and quite expensive. This study is the first study to assess the effectiveness of dry needling on clinical improvement of hemifacial spasm compared to standard therapy of botulinum toxin injection.Methods: The study design was quasi experimental. Total of 24 subjects were divided into two groups. The first group underwent dry needling intervention while the other had botulinum injection. Clinical severity before and after treatment in both groups was assessed using Jankovic and HFS7 scores.Results: In dry needling group there were significant differences between Jankovic and HFS7 score at baseline and at week 1, 2, 3 and 4. While in botox group significant differences were also Jankovic and HFS7 score at baseline and at weeks 2 and 4. There were also a significant difference of Jankovic and HFS7 score when we compared dry needling group to botulinum toxin group.Conclusion: Dry needling can be an alternative treatment for hemifacial spasm, although clinical improvements based on Jankovic and HFS7 scores in dry needling group were not as effective as those with botulinum toxin injections.

Abstract

The Secretion of IFN-Gamma and IL-2 After ESAT-6-CFP-10 Fusion Antigen Stimulation in Active and Latent TB Patients. This study held to discover how immune responses work and to know the pathogenesis of active TB and latent TB patients. This study used PBMC to stimulate T Cells with ESAT-6 and CFP-10 antigen fusion, and measure the level of IFN-gamma and IL-2 with ELISA antibody sandwich (U-Cytech). 16 ml of blood were drawn to 5 tubes. ESAT-6 CFP-20 inducted one tube with QuantiFERON for IFN-gamma assay. The other four tubes were PBMC isolated using Ficoll-Paque, and pre-incubated with stimulation of ESAT-6 CFP-10 fusion antigen for 24-72 hours at 370 C and measured using T-Spot and ELISA reader. We got from this study that there are no significant differences in IFN-gamma levels for both groups with active TB and latent TB. Measurement of IL-2 levels showed significant differences between the two group.

Abstract

Tea garden waste has been investigated in the form of parasite tea Squrula oortina Species Family: Loranthaceae from the Dempo Pagar Alam tea plantation, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra. Stem and leaf samples are then dried and powdered, then isolated with 70% water-ethanol subfraction. The extract was then dried by vacuum distillation at 70oC until a concentrated extract without ethanol was obtained. The results of the study were tea parasite extract, and the extract was tested for phytochemicals (monounsaturated fatty acids and double, theobromine derivates, quercetin derivates and Epicatekin derivates). Next, it would be taken to the Laboratory of Biological Sciences at Gajah Mada University to be tested for cytotoxic effects on Hella cells, with control positive doxorubicin. The results of the research were tea leaves extract IC50 = 2538 ug/mL and the standard of doxorubicin IC50 = 0.88 ug/mL so that it could be concluded that the parasite of the tea parasite had cytotoxic and proliferative effects.
