Abstract

The Android operating system on smartphones has developed rapidly and become a favorite among other operating systems. In addition to applications that can be obtained for free, making applications on Android is also easy because the platform is open source. Hence, it allows users to create or develop applications already available. By utilizing convenience, Android smartphones can be used to control household appliances such as fans. Applications on Android can be made with the MIT App Inventor software, so it can be used to adjust the fan spin. Android applications can ease users to increase or decrease the spin speed of the fan from a distance. Arduino Nano microcontroller and Relay were used to adjust the fan spin, while the Bluetooth Module was used to connect the microcontroller and Android smartphone. After the testing process, the fan spin could be set using Android with a maximum distance of 15.2 meters without barriers and 11 meters with a wall barrier. Fan spin has 3 speed, 1473 rpm for high spin, 1462 rpm for medium spin, 1451 rpm for low spin, while the timer used consisted of 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 120 minutes.

Abstract

Technology information has been growing rapidly in the last few years. HMIPv6 is one of environment used in mobility internet connection. One of transmission used in this method is Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). TCP has a normal connection that connect mobile node to the internet and has a normal speed of transmission. This paper tries to compare TCP with another protocol. High Speed Transmission Control Protocol (HS-TCP) is a transport protocol that introduces new method by improving general algorithm of TCP in reducing time of loss recovery. HS- TCP is compared with TC¬P to see the performance of each protocol. The simulation of these protocols is using Network Simulator 2.31 (NS-2.31). The topology of HMIPv6 concludes 1 Home Agent (HA), 2 Foreign Agent (FA), 1 Mobile Node (MN), 1 Correspondent Node (CN). The performance measurement is processed when MN moved from FA2 to FA1 while communicating with CN. Throughput of HMIPv6 will become the parameters for QoS. The result of the simulation shows that HS-TCP has a better performance than TCP by looking at the throughput which ran on the HMIPv6 topology. This simulation have proved that HS-TCP are suitable to be implemented in neighborhood supporting high speed. With bandwidth at 100 Mbps, we can see that HS- TCP is 32% better than HS-TCP, in 500 Mbps HS-TCP is better at 96% than TCP. In 1Gbps, HS-TCP is better at 85% than TCP and in 10Gbps, HS-TCP is better at 86% than TCP.

Abstract

This paper presents the modeling and simulation of wind turbine driven by doubly-fed induction generator which feeds ac power to the distribution network. A stator flux oriented vector control is used for the variable speed doubly-fed induction generator operation. By controlling the generator excitation current the amplitude of the stator EMF is adjusted equal to the amplitude of the grid voltage. To set the generator frequency equal to the grid one, the turbine pitch angle controller accelerates the turbine/generator until it reaches the synchronous speed. The system is modeled and simulated in the Matlab Simulink environment in such a way that it can be suited for modeling of all types of induction generator configurations. The model makes use of rotor reference frame using dynamic vector approach for machine model. The system is also simulated when a fault occurs in 25 kV grid of distribution system. The results of a single line to ground fault and a symmetrical three-phase ground fault is analyzed. The results show that the wind energy conversion system can normally operate in fault conditions.

Abstract

Among several types of cancer, lung cancer is regarded as one of the most common and serious. In this respect, early diagnosis is required and beneficial to reduce mortalities caused by this type of cancer. Such diagnosis is typically performed by doctors through manual examinations on X-Ray images. However, manual examinations are labor extensive and time consuming. In this paper, we conduct a study to analyze the performance of some computer-based lung cancer diagnosis algorithms. The algorithms are built using different feature extraction (gray-level co-occurrence matrix, pixel intensity, histogram and combination of the three) and machine learning (Multi-layer Perceptron and K-Nearest Neighbor) techniques and the performance of each algorithm is compared and analyzed. The result of the study shows that the best performance of lung cancer classification is obtained by the computer algorithm that uses the combined features to characterize lung cancer and subsequently classifies the features using Multi-layer Perceptron.

Abstract

The development of communication technology in Indonesia is currently growing, one of which is cellular telecommunications technology. Cellular communication technology developed from the first generation to the present time has entered the 4th generation known as 4G LTE. The writing of this final project discusses the analysis and optimization of the 4G LTE network of Telkomsel seluer operators in Jombang, East Java. Measurements were made using the drive test method to test the 4G LTE network in the inner area of Jombang district. This testing is done to check the network in the inner area whether it is optimal in providing network to customers. This drive test uses a nemo handy device and to analyze drive test results using a nemo analyzer. The results measured when doing a drive test are RSRP, SNR, and throughput parameters. The results of the RSRP parameter get 95% of the total sample RSRP values -100 dBm to 0 dBm. The SNR parameter gets 94% of the total sample which has a value of 0 dB to 25 dB. The throughput parameter gets 95% of the total sample value above 1Mbps. After a drive test and analysis there are 4 areas that need to be optimized because in terms of quality or SNR and the data speed or throughput is below the standards applied by the operator.

Abstract

Along with technological advances, it is estimated that the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of Kulon Progo Regency increases annually by 7.6%, and the population growth of Kulon Progo regency increases annually by 0.9%. However, after assuming with Muara Bungo Regency as a reference to GRDP growth and Population of Kulon Progo Regency due to the influence of the Establishment of New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) in 2019, the population growth every year is 15.78%. While GRDP in 2018 until 2019 equals to 82.91% and next year equals to 7.6 %. Load forecasting the burden for the next ten years by using multiple linear regression affected by NYIA in 2019, the loading of the 150 kV Wates substation is only up to 2021 for the power transformer I of 24.83 MW and the power transformer II 55.40 MW. So it is estimated that for 2022, power transformer I and power transformer II of 150 kV Wates Substation are no longer able to serve the loading. Then, in 2021 a feeder shift and uprating power transformer I need to be conducted. In 2024 a power transformer III is needed. In that year the feed formation from power transformer I and power transformer II was changed to power transformer III.

Abstract

Mobile robots are proven to be reliable in supporting the human tasks by using a computerized system that minimizes human errors. However, recharging the battery in these robots is still performed manually by the user. Therefore, to extend their lifetime, an indoor automatic docking system ‘AutoDock-IPS’ is created for mobile robot to charge its battery automatically. The automatic docking system determines the location of the docks (i.e., charging stations) so that, prototype can immediately navigate to them. Experiments were carried out to validate the docking method by utilizing a compass module as a direction sensor and a rotary encoder as a displacement indicator. These sensors are combined into a robust indoor positioning system. The results show that the prototype can find the fastest route to the docking station to perform battery charging procedure.
