Abstract

Contributions of Palm Sugar Industryon Farmers Household Incomein Belimbing Village, Pupuan Sub-District, Tabanan Regency The palm sugar industry is one of the side livelihoods for most people in BelimbingVillage. Belimbing Village is one of the villages in the Province of Bali that has beendesignated as the center of NIKOSAKE (Nira (palm sugar), Kopi (Coffee), Salak(Snake fruit), Kelapa (Coconut). This study aims to find out: 1) Sources of income offarmer households in Belimbing Village. 2) Contribution of palm sugar industry to theincome of farmer households in Belimbing Village. The data analysis method used isquantitative and qualitative methods. This study shows that the source of income offarmer households in Belimbing Village, Pupuan Subdistrict, Tabanan Regency comesfrom palm sugar industry, farming (rice, coffee, durian, mangosteen, coconut, cocoa,bamboo, and banana), and non-farming ( traders and laborers). The results obtained, theaverage household income of palm sugar is Rp 5,062,162 per year, the average farmincome is Rp 12,053,359 per year, and the average non-farm income is Rp 10,156,441per year.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Climate Influential Effect to the Production Risk of Shallots Farming Onion is one of the commodoties widely used in the Indonesian households, ranging from as a spice to herbal medicine. This means that onion has important value in society. Generally, farmer grow onion during dry season; however, in Kintamani District, Bangli Regency, Bali Province, they grow onion during wet season as well as during dry season. This study aimed at identifying the risk of farm enterprise of onion, and the factors which contributed to such a risk. The result of analysis showed that the farm enterprice of onion was more risky than that during wet season. Climate was also found to contribute to the risk of the farm enterprice of onion. Abstract

Marginal Rate of Technical Susbtitution in Combined Use of Fertilizer in LargeRed Chili Farming in Baturiti Village Tabanan RegencyLarge red chilli farming is intensive farming, so farmers in managing their farmingexperience various problems, both problems in farming and environmental issues.The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) marginal rate of technicalsubstitution (MRTS) from a combination of the type of fertilizers used, (2) the effectof changes of the use of fertilizers on the use of other fertilizers, and (3) theoptimization of allocation combinations of fertilizers in big red chili farming,whether it had qualified for optimal requirements. The results showed that, from acombination of fertilizers (urea, ZA, KCl, TSP, NPK) used by large red chili farmers,only NPK fertilizer which wassubstitutable with ZA fertilizers and urea fertilizerswhile other fertilizers are complementary in nature, MRTS of urea with NPKof0.058, and MTRS ZA with NPK of 0.118. NPK fertilizers were not perfectsubstitutes of the ZA and the urea fertilizers. The substitution abilitywas only 11%against ZA and 13% against urea. From the combination of the use of fertilizers inlarge red chillifarming, none of the combinations was optimal. It is suggestedfarmers should improve their skills in the use of a combination of various types offertilizers in chillifarming, so that costs can be minimized andthe profit of farmingcan be maximized.

Abstract

Abstract Raw Material Control and Quality Control Effective to Support The Smooth Production Process at PT Alove Bali PT Alove Bali is one of the aloe vera  organic liquid fertilizer manufacturer in Bali. The development of  business competition makes PT Alove  Bali is more strict in achieving the aim of creating and retaining customers. To achieve this objective, PT Alove Bali must be able to produce qualified products in accordance with the needs and desires of consumers. This study aimed to analyze the raw materials and quality control of the organics liquid fertilizer on PT Alove Bali. The analysis was performed by processing the data of defective products of the organic liquid fertilizer using statistical process control (SPC) methods to p-control, cause-effect diagrams, and analyze the optimum total cost over quality. Based on this research, the companies prefer to conduct the inventory in the process, because it does not cause too big storage costs as if the companies do supply raw materials. Analysis of the quality control using the p-control, indicating that the organic liquid fertilizer is in a state of uncontrolled, since there are points that outside the control limit. Based on the analysis of cause-effect diagrams, there are four factors that cause damage to the organic liquid fertilizer that are raw materials, tools and machines, processes, and workforce. Based on analysis of the total cost of optimum quality, the optimum amount of tolerable damage are 89.715 liters, so the  total cost of optimum quality the company that should be done as much as Rp 1.327.489.411,39. Abstract

The Comparative and Competitive Advantages of Arabica Coffee (Coffea arabica) Commodity in Ulian Village, Kintamani Sub-District of Bangli Regency The study aimed to analyze the comparative and competitive advantages and the divergence of input and output of arabica coffee commodity, to find out the government protection policy against inputs and outputs; and to investigate the impact of changes in input and output prices on profits, comparative advantages, competitive advantages, divergence, and government protection against inputs and outputs. Methods of data collection was interview and observation. The respondents were 38 farmers in Ulian Village, Kintamani, Bangli and selected by random sampling. Data analysis used Policy Analysis Matrix and sensitivity analysis. The result of analysis by using Policy Analysis Matrix showed that the social profit was Rp 47.953.373 and private profit of Rp 33.202.446. The superiority of arabica coffee commodity in Ulian Village consists of comparative and competitive advantages expressed in DRC ratio of 0.23 and PCR ratio of 0.29. The divergence of input and output consists of divergence of revenue of Rp15,734,996, tradable input divergence was Rp 0, domestic factor divergence was Rp. 994,070, and divergence of net profit of Rp 14,750,927. Government protection was expressed in NPCO ratio of 0.75, EPC ratio of 0.75, PC ratio of 0.69, and SRP ratio of -0.24. These ratios indicate that arabica coffee farmers in Ulian Village, Kintamani, Bangli have no protection from the government. Changes in input and output prices during inflation were at 3.02 percent, an increase in input prices by 10 percent and a fall in the price of output by 50 percent resulted in arabica coffee commodities in Ulian Village, Kintamani, Bangli to have comparative and competitive advantages. There is no government protection on arabica coffee farmers in Ulian Village, Kintamani Sub-District of Bangli Regency when input and output prices changed.

Abstract

Employee’s Job Satisfaction at Fresh Food Department Tiara Dewata Supermarket Efforts to obtain optimal performance from the presence of employees in a companyneed to be done by setting the right strategy, namely by thinking about how to manageemployees so that they are able to achieve the company's objectives. This can be realizedby creating job satisfaction of the members of the organization concerned which willfurther improve work performance.The objectives of this research are: (a) To analyze job satisfaction at Tiara DewataSupermarket. (b) To analyze the factors forming employee job satisfaction at TiaraDewata Supermarket. The population in this study were all employees of Tiara DewataSupermarket in the fresh food department with total 60 people. The sample wasdetermined by Saturated Sampling method, which is a sample determination technique ifall members of the population were used as samples. Data analysis method used is factoranalysis, namely The First Order Confirmatory Factor Analysis and The Second OrderConfirmatory Factor Analysis, which is processed using AMOS 22 software.The results show that: (1) Fresh Food employees at Tiara Dewata Supermarket are verysatisfied working under the auspices of the Tiara Dewata Supermarket, this can be seenfrom the results of the average assessment score consisting of: main tasks and workfunctions, supervision by the leadership, opportunities for advancement, co-workers, andworking conditions, with an average overall score of 4.40 at an interval of 4.2-5.0. (2)All research factors and indicators are valid / significant as a measure or form of employee job satisfaction. Overall the factors that give the biggest contribution or thestrongest measure of job satisfaction is the opportunity to progress with the value ofloading factor 0.986, while the factors that give the smallest contribution or the weakestas a measure of the construct of job satisfaction are co-workers with the value of loadingfactor 0.943.

Abstract

The aims of study are to carry out the potential of Belimbing Village which is seen from four aspects those are Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat, and also to know the strategy of development of rural tourism in Belimbing Village. This study based on quantitative and qualitative method. Quantitative data was directly from observations and interviews with the questionnaires  besides, the supporting data was from library resource. Based on analysis result, Internal factors (a) strength : beautiful and conservation of nature are the most significant influence on the development of rural tourism in Belimbing Village, (b) Weakness : Belimbing village is not ready to receive the tourists, since the lack quality of the environmental cleanliness. External Factors (a) opportunity : the most important factor of opportunity is the value of the people who always maintain and preserve traditional cultural, (b) Threat : the most important threat is the threat of competition with others regions in the development of rural tourism. Based on SWOT analysis obtained the development strategy such as follows; (a) S-O strategy is the development of rural tourism in order to maintain the attraction and promotion in Belimbing village. (b) W-O Strategy is to improve the facilities and infrastructure, (c) S-T strategy is outreach to the local people, in order to increase security and defense, (d) W-T strategy is the strategy of administration and management of Belimbing village as well as language training and tour guiding to the local people. Therefore, the priority that can be done in developing rural tourism and to maintain its attraction by providing tourism packages or tracking map and also to order the local are properly.   Keyword : potential, SWOT analysis, tourism village

Abstract

The Role of Marketing Mix Perception on the Purchasing Decision and the Product Loyalty to the Hatten Wines Hatten Wines is a local wine-based local alcoholic beverage product that is sought after by tourists visiting Bali. The decline in product sales turnover of Hatten Wines since 2008 lies behind this study. The purpose of the study was to identify the variables that determine the marketing mix decisions on the product purchases and loyalty toHatten Wines and their constituent indicators and determine the role of the marketing mix perceptions on the purchasing decisions and loyalty to the products of Hatten Wines. The study was conducted in Sanur, Kuta and Nusa Dua by distributing questionnaires to 100 foreign tourists. The data were analyzed based on the factor analysis with SPSS 19 program. The findings showed that the marketing mix variables that determine the purchasing decision and the loyalty to the products of Hatten Wines consist of four variables: product, price, promotion, place and distribution. The product variables are formed from five indicators: brand, flavor, packaging, aroma, and product variety. Price variables are formed from three indicators, namely affordability, price conformity with benefits, and price competitiveness. Promotional variables formed from four indicators of promotional services, promotional media, promotional quality, and promotional quantity. Place and distribution variables are made up of three indicators: place of sale, product availability, and ease of access. The role of the marketing mix perceptions on the purchasing decisions and the product loyalty to Hatten Wines can be explained by the variance value of 60,946%, the remaining 39,054% is influenced by other variables that are not incorporated into the model. Improved marketing mix quality is needed to improve the competitiveness of the products of Hatten Wines from those of imported products.

Abstract

Abstrak Agriculture is a sector that plays an important role in the welfare of the Indonesian population lives . As one of the pillars of the state economy , the agricultural sector is expected to increase the income of rural residents especially are still below the poverty line. For the various investments and policies have been taken by the government to encourage growth in the agricultural sector , one of them in the form of fertilizer subsidies. The research objective was to analyze the level of paddy rice farming profits as a result of the impact of the fertilizer subsidy in Tabanan. The results show the financial benefits of paddy farming in the dry season and the rainy season is Rp . 5,625,704.23 per ha and Rp . 5,802,663.42 per ha . R / C each season are 1.40 and 1.39 . Economic advantages in the dry season and the rain is Rp . 3,052,706.47 / ha and Rp 1,234,146.40 / ha , while the divergence of net profit was Rp . 2,572,997.76 / ha and Rp 4,568,517.01 / ha .   Keywords : subsidie, profit, season

Abstract

Coconut Farmers Empowerment Effort (Cocos Nucifera) in the Village of Pesaban,Sub-District of Rendang, Regency of Karangasem. Pesaban Village, Rendang Sub-District of Karangasem Regency has great coconutpotential, but farmers can’t utilize the condition properly. The purpose of this researchis to investigate: (1) coconut farming potential, (2) aspect and effort of empowering thecoconut farmers. The research uses qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. Theresults showed that the potential of natural resources of coconut farming, humanresources, and financial resources are good. Ownership of assets is good and belongs tothe farmers themselves, relationships between individuals and groups are wellestablished, coconut farmers have organizations to cooperate, and the partnershipsynergy of coconut farmers with the local and outside traders. Access to information isvery less, the participation of the group has been well built, coconut farmers have asense of responsibility in maintaining the good quality of the product, group forumshave not fully be a problem-solving.
