Abstract

Subak Sembung Development Strategy As A Tourist Attraction In The Urban Area Tourism development in Bali is culture-based tourism. One of them is Subak SembungEcotourism which is located in Peguyangan Village, North Denpasar District, DenpasarMuniciplity. Its strategic location in the city center makes Subak Sembung facechallenges in land conversion. Development efforts needed to make Subak Sembung atourist attraction as well as a traditional organization in agriculture. The purpose of thisstudy was to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of SubakSembung, formulate alternative strategies, and determine priority strategies to developSubak Sembung as a tourist attraction in urban areas. The results of the SWOT matrixproduced several alternative strategies, namely market expansion, collaboration withgovernment and external entrepreneurs, developing agricultural-based touristattractions, holding promotions, arousing agricultural activities and religious rituals,development efforts that were in accordance with the awig-awig of subak, formingmanagement bodies of ecotourism, and selective in developing tourism facilities. Thepriority strategy based on QSPM analysis was to establish an ecotourism managementbody so that Subak Sembung could be developed with better facilities. Subak membertogether with the government and other stakeholders must take advantage of theopportunities and strengths they have in order to minimize the weaknesses and threatsfaced by Subak Sembung. Based on the results of the study, the suggestion that can bemade is to form a more creative ecotourism management body so that the appreciationand activities of the community can be developed for the sustainability of Ecotourism inSubak Sembung.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Influencing Factors of Land-use Change: Case Study of Subak Daksina, Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency A land-use change of agricultural land into non-farm is increasing every year along with increase in population and development in tourism sector. Accordingly, continuing conversion of agricultural land may lead to food security problem in the future. Determination of factors in affecting agricultural land use shifting was carried out in this study using survey method to farmers. In addition, in-depth interview and observation were used in data collection. Explanatory factor analysis was used to achieve the aims of the study. Results of this study reveals that there were four factors affecting land use shifting, covering land condition, eviction (associated with the human population conditions), land use (for own interests), and the land ineffectiveness. Among 16 variables included in the model, only two variables, i.e. post harvet risk and land tax. Key words: land use, eviction, land ineffectiveness.

Abstract

The Marketing Mix of Salted Peanut of Cendrawasih Brandat UD. Monang Denpasar-BaliUD. Monang is an agro-industrial busines engaged in the production of snack ofpeanuts. Seeing the interest of consumers who tend to consume more salted peanutsthan any other peanuts, this study aimed to determine the marketing mix conductedby UD. Monang on cendrawasih salted peanuts in term of the concept of product,price, place/distribution and promotion and to identify the constraints faced by UD.Monang in marketing salted peanuts produck with brand of cendrawasih. Based onthe research result of cendrawasih salted peanuts produck are processed from rawmaterials of the best peanuts. The marketing mix carried out by UD. Monang on itsproduck was to provide three packaging in the form of plastic to make it look moreappealing to consumers. Pricing implemented by UD. Monang is the cost pluspricing method which set the price based on the cost added by the percentage of thecost. For small-sized plastic packaging containing 125 gram was for Rp 3.900, 225gram for Rp 8.400 and 350 gram for Rp 11.400. the company uses retailer as anintermediary in the distribution of products to the end consumers. Promotionalactivities used by the company was to use personal selling. Internal contrains facedwas the company’s performance in terms of the promotion was less effective.External constraints were that their competitors of similar products resulted in thecompany having to compete fairly tight.

Abstract

Abstract Farmers’ Motivation in Horticultural Farming in Candikuning Tourism Village, Baturiti Subdistrict, Tabanan Regency Horticultural farming in tourism destination is supposedly influenced by motivation who are able to encourage themselves who are not included in farmer community to carry out holticultural farming activities in the Candikuning Tourism Village. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of farmers’ motivation who are not included in farmer community in terms of intrinsic and extrinsic aspect in Horticultural Farming in Candikuning Tourism Village. The results show that the level of farmers’ motivation falls into high category with an average score of 3.67 (73.44%) of the total maximum score. This is supported by the intrinsic motivation included in the high category with an average score of 3.91 (78.34%) of the total maximum score and extrinsic motivation included in the high category with an average score of 3.42 (68.53%) of the total maximum score. So that the level of farmers’ motivation in horticultural farming is high. The agricultural extension workers that assist the farming activity in Candikuning Village should counsel the farmers actively. The farmers should form a farmer’s forum in order to facilitate them to gain information about their farming activity. Abstract

The Impact of Changes in Local Food Consumptionof Sweet Potato and Sago into Rice Food,in Kampung Makimi, Makimi District,Nabire Regency, Papua ProvinceThe impact of rice policy is a change in the pattern of local food consumption of thecommunity. This study aims to determine the impact of changes in the pattern ofconsumption of sweet potato and sago local food into rice food consumption. Thesampling method uses simple random sampling as many as 40 household headsfrom402 populations, theanalysis method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Theresults showedthe impact of changes in the pattern of consumption of local food ofsweet potatoes and sago into rice consumption was a massive shift in publicconsumption resulted in a decrease in the level of preference for local sweet potato andsago food consumption. Most households prefer to consume rice food, because it tastesgood and is easily accessible. This can be seen by the amount of rice consumption asmuch as 1,443.8 kg / year, while the amount of sweet potato consumption is 182.4 kg /year, and sago is 728 kg / year. The negative impact of government policies andprograms on rice food availability has resulted in reduced production of local sweetpotatoes and sago. So the price of sweet potatoes and sago became expensive. Changesin the pattern of consumption of local foods of sweet potatoes and sago into riceresulted in an increase of 18.75% in Diabetes Meliatus in Makimi Makimi Village.Suggestion that can be submitted as input is that necessary to process local food intovalue-added commodities that can attract households to consume local food. Thegovernment is expected to formulate regulations related to the food sovereigntyprogram, especially local sweet potatoes and sago. Government policies for theassistance of raskin should be reduced by quota, and replaced by a food subsidiesprogram based on local food. There needs to be a tithe regarding the diversification ofconsumption of nutritiousbalanced food, especially in utilizing local food potential.

Abstract

Abstract Analysis of raw material inventory control  cocoa beans Delicacao Bali factory in  the district Tabanan   Raw material availability is very important for the production process, therefore Delicacao Bali factory should be able to determine the amount of optimal raw material inventory. Reduce the cost of inventory in order to keep the production process running smoothly. In this case the company needs to analyze the inventory management to be able to minimize the total cost incurred in the  inventory. This study aims to (1) analyze raw material inventory control conducted by Delicacao Bali, (2) analyze alternative raw material inventory control to be applied,the Bali Delicacao to improve the efficiency of the inventory costs. The method used in the study included (1) Qualitative descriptive method and (2) Quantitative Method. The results of analysis the inventory cost, methods MRP of company policy shows that inventory control policy Delicacao Bali cocoa beans is not optimal. The comparison total inventory costs incurred by the company in 2013 amounted to Rp 19,998,452.00, when using the technique of LFL company can issue a total inventory cost of Rp 8,600,000.00, and cost savings (efficiency) reached 54.93 %. While the techniques EOQ company can issue a total cost of Rp 4,109,355.18 and cost savings (efficiency) reached 79.45 %. MRP techniques EOQ is an alternative method that can be recommended to the company as an inventory control techniques in the hopes this method can save the cost of raw material.  Keywords : Inventory cost, MRP, Delicacao Bali

Abstract

The Organic and Non Organic Carrot Farming Analysis (Case Study on P4SEka Setia Lestari, Bangli Village, Baturiti Sub-District, of Tabanan Regency) The objectives of the research are to determine the differences of income of theorganic and non organic carrot farming. The second objective is to find out theconstraints faced by the organic and non organic farmers.The research wasconducted in Bangli Village, Baturiti Sub-District, Tabanan Regency. Determinationof the location is done purposively because Eka Setia Lestari already has organiccertificate and recognized by the LeSos Organic Institute. The respondents werefarmers who planted carrots during the planting season of September - December2015 at P4S Eka Setia Lestari with the number of 24 people. Determination ofrespondents of the research was conducted by census method. The analysis used wasfarm income analysis, Mann Whitney test, and descriptive analysis. The resultsshowed that the organic carrot income was Rp 7,646,446.67 and non-organic carrotincome of Rp 6,191,229.06. Based on the results of Mann Whitney test, it wasobtained significant differences between the incomes of farmers who grew organicand non-organic carrots . The constraint faced by the organic carrot farmers is thatcarrots are more susceptible to pests and diseases attacks while the constraintexperienced by the non-organic carrot farmers is the price fluctuations in the sale ofcarrots in the market.

Abstract

The Behavior of Subak’s Members in the Use of Organic Fertilizer on Rice Paddy Cultivation (A Case Study of Subak Dukuh, Kapal Village, Mengwi Sub-District of Badung Regency) The negative impact of consuming food containing excess of chemical residues has become the health issues lately. Environmental and food safety issues led to a lifestyle trend of going back to nature. Some individuals, groups, and organizations initiated the movement of environmentally friendly farming system namely organic farming. Seeing this condition, the researchers were interested in conducting research concerning the behavior of Subak’s members in the use of organic fertilizers in the cultivation of rice paddy. This research was conducted in Subak Dukuh which is located in the village of Kapal, Mengwi, Badung Regency. The selection of this region as the research location was done purposively. The populations of this research were members of Subak Dukuh totaling of 162 people. Determination of the sample size in this study using the formula of solvin so that the number of respondents taken were 35 people. The result shows that the level of knowledge of farmers on organic fertilizers was categorized as good achieving a score of 71.20 percent. But the behavior of farmers towards organic fertilizer was classified in the medium category with an average score of 66.20 percent. On the application of organic fertilizers, the farmers was in medium category with score of 63.80 percent. Based on the research results, it is suggested to the members of Subak as program implementers to apply or utilize the technology in the agricultural sector introduced by the extension workers, because before trying a new technology that given by the extension workers, farmers did not know whether the technology is good or not to be applied to their rice fields.

Abstract

Analysis of the Value Additional Processing Of Purple Sweet Potato in PO. Imo Syrup Denpasar PO. Imo Syrup Denpasar is the business processing a purple sweet potato into syrup and juice so as to be durable and provide value added of a product. The purpose of this study is to determine the size of value added of purple sweet potato as the raw materials of syrup and juice and to calculate provit level obtained the company. The research analysis used of the value added Hayami and BEP method with cycles once process production. The research results showed that 10 kg purple sweet potato become 18,75 L syrup and value added is Rp 59.660/L syrup, processing 10 kg purple potato became 15L juice and value added Rp 72.500/L juice. Advantages of gained for one of a production peocess is Rp.52.760 /L Syrup and foe juice is Rp 65.600/L. This effort is also supported by the acquiremwnt on syrup worth Rp.10.416.666 or in break event condition can be obtained by selling as much syrup 221,63/L with selling price Rp.6.693/L. At the minimum sale of juice or in breakeven points Rp.1.736.111 or to produce a much 126,08 L with selling price Rp.980,85/L. Financially PO. Imo Syrup Denpasar can be said profitable. The sugestion that can be given to company is do the promotion by social media. so that the people knows about benefit of and an existanceof juice and syrup purple sweet potato.
