Abstract

Based on Rules of National Education Minister Number 22 Year 2016 about Process Standard in implementing 2013 curriculum, scientific approach in learning could be used to improve cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. To ensure this scientific approach running smoothly, teacher should be able to design learning in which uses scientific aspect. In Banyumas municipal, there were several primary schools implemented 2013 curriculum appropriately. This research aime to analyze effectiveness of scientific approach learning instrument under theme saving energy. This Research and Development study was conducted for fourth graders of SDN 03 Cilangkap and SDN 01 Samudra, Banyumas municipal. The techniques to collect data were interview, observation, questionnaire, documentation, and learning outcome test. The findings showed that the learning instrument validation by validators was said valid. The implementation of the learning instrument on theme ? saving energy for the fourth graders were practical and effective. The effectiveness of the instrument could be seen from the learning outcomes of the students in prestest and posttest. The score of students before intervened by the product was 64.26. Meanwhile, after intervened by the product, it improved into 78.89. Thus, it resulted to N ? Gain test with 0.40, categorized moderate. Furthermore, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes also had improvement with very well criterion on affective domain and well criterion on psychomotor domain.

Abstract

Assassement instruments of speaking skills used by teacher, not yet to able to describe students speaking skills. The teacher was also found to have no assessement rubrics. This developmental research aimed to produce teacher?s handbook in the form of valid, reliable, effective, and practical android based-student speaking skill assessment on learning Indonesian language at primary school. This research referred to Borg & Gall with 10 stages of development. However, this research only used until the ninth step. The findings showed that (1) based on expert judgment, the instrument was worthy to test with some revision, (2) empirical reliability of those four instruments both in small and large test scales was reliable, (3) the instrument construct validity was analyzed by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), all of the constructs were valid, (4) the developed product an android based student speaking skill instrument development was valid, reliable, and practical. The judgment based on the homeclass teacher showed that the product was practice to assess student speaking skill.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the STEM-integrated PBP model to improve the creative thinking abilities of elementary school students. This type of research is a quantitative research method with a control group pre-test post-test design. The study population consisted of all grade IV students in Tersono District, Batang Regency. Samples were selected through a purposive sampling technique, so that selected class IV SD Negeri Rejosari 01, amounting to 20 students as an experimental group and SD Negeri Tersono, totaling 23 students as a control group. Data collection techniques used to test techniques, the results showed that the experimental class's creative thinking skills reached 85% classically with an average value of 80.75; while the creative thinking ability of control class classically only reaches 56.52% with an average value of 76.74. The N-gain score of the experimental class reached 0.51 with the medium category while the N-gain score of the control class only reached 0.33 with the low category.

Abstract

This study is aimed at examining the effect of academic supervision and leadership of the principal on teacher performance mediated by teacher work motivation. The method used in this study is a quantitative method, the results of the study will be processed using some statistical analysis, namely by using descriptive analysis techniques and path analysis techniques with the help of the SPSS program. The number of respondents used in this study was 75 respondents. All respondents were all public elementary school (SDN) teachers in the Tasifeto Barat-Belu-NTT Sub district which were spread across twelve Public Elementary Schools. Based on the results of the path analysis, it was concluded that academic supervision and leadership of the school principal either partially or simultaneously had a significant effect on work motivation and teacher performance, Furthermore, the analysis also showed that work motivation also has a significant effect on teacher performance, this showed that the better the academic supervision and leadership of the principal, the higher the teacher's work motivation can further improve teacher performance.

Abstract

Education is aimed at improving the quality of human life, both individually and in society. Education is not separated from an institution where learning is a school. There is no denying the quality of service between public and private schools. However, the phenomenon is in contrast to current on-going program of the government to promote qualified and affordable education through public schools. This research aims to analyze background of primary school selection for parents as seen at a private school in Purwokerto. This research uses qualitative method with study case type. The research was conducted at a primary school in Purwokerto. The data sources were obtained from the students? parents, teachers, and the principal.  Techniques of collecting data were observation, comprehensive interview, and document study. The validity test was done by source triangulation. The finding showed that parents considered two factors: theological and academic factors. The theological factor was based on religious consideration. Parents wanted their children to have strong religious foundation. The academic factors dealt with the human resource ability to achieve both academic and non-academic achievements for the students.

Abstract

Based on constitution number 20 Year 2003 about educational system concerning with National education, it asserts that teaching - learning activity should be PAIKEM in nature. To promote PAIKEM learning, teachers should design the learning by cooperative learning model. In Public Primary School 2 Sambung, the teacher had implemented 2013 curriculum but the realization was not fully utilized PAIKEM well. This research aims to find out Talking Stick model assisted by PowerPoint medium influences to students? critical thinking skills. This qualitative descriptive research took population from Public Primary School in Sultan Agung cluster, Kudus municipality. Then, the sample was taken by purposive sampling, resulting to IV A class of Public Primary School 2 Sambung which consisted of 22 students as experimental group. Meanwhile, the control group was obtained from IV B class, consisting of 18 students.   Techniques of collecting data were test - essay test, and non-test - documentation and observation. The calculation of independent sample t-test showed that tcount0.4, meaning that tcount>ttabel.Result of experimental group's N-gain score was 0.65, categorized moderate. Meanwhile, the control group obtained 0.35, categorized moderate. It showed there was improvement of critical thinking skill after being intervened by talking stick assisted by PowerPoint media.

Abstract

Learning inside of classroom is only merely transferring knowledge or memorizing in nature. It has not had purpose to improve students? conceptual understandings.  To make learning process capable in improving conceptual understanding, teachers should prepare innovative learning model and make their students able to determine solution by themselves  from the given problems.  This research aims to analyze improvement of students? conceptual understanding after being intervened by Problem Based Learning assisted by Mobile Learning. This quasi experimental research used nonequivalent control group design. It was done for V graders of Public Primary School 2 Ngeling and Public Primary School 3 Ngeling in Jepara municipality. Techniques of collecting data were documentation, observation, conceptual understanding test in the form of multiple choices. The data was analyzed by gain score test and t-test. The results showed there was significant difference of the students? conceptual understandings intervened by PBL assisted by mobile learning media. There was significant difference of conceptual understanding score between both groups with significant level 5% with N-gain of experimental group 0.61, categorized as moderate while the control group obtained 0.19, categorized as low. The independent test stated there was difference between both groups as shown by score of tcount 0.411 with significant level 0.000. It showed that problem based learning assisted by mobile learning media could improve the students of the primary schools? conceptual understandings.

Abstract

Cahaya Ummat Integrated Islamic Junior High School is an educational unit that seeks to implement an Islamic education system. Based on observations and school quality report cards, the launching of the concept of quality assurance does not yet have the vision and direction for efforts to improve the quality culture, so that increasing the scale of quality and the development of stagnant education units tends to even decrease. The concept of this research aims to describe the efforts to guarantee the quality of education starting from the mapping, planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring stages. Education Quality is the level of conformity between the administration of educational units and national education standards. This research uses descriptive qualitative research design. Types and sources of data are primary and secondary data. The research data was obtained from the school management & community team and school documents, field observations and documentation. Data analysis techniques using the method of Miles and Huberman from data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions / verification. The results showed the need for a quality assurance team was formed which mobilized all educational unit resources to focus on overseeing the quality assurance cycle in the educational unit.

Abstract

Teachers? performance is an urgent matter to achieve the quality of Indonesian education. All of schools have target to get optimal teachers? performance. Thus, it is important as a teacher to know the determinants on teachers? performance. Some of the determinants on teachers? performance in the study are principal?s leadership, cultural organization, competence, and job satisfaction. The study aims to analyze the influences of principals? leadership, competence, and organizational culture on teachers? performance through job satisfaction in private junior high school especially Southern Brebes. The population of the study was 108 teachers (S.1 degree) of four schools and 78 teachers as a sample which was taken by Slovin formula where e = 6% (0.06) and the sampling technique used proportional random sampling. Furthermore, data collection used questionnaire and data analysis technique used a path analysis for hypotheses test with SPSS (statistical packages of social scientists) for Windows version 23.0 application computer program with level of significance at 0.05. The results of the study found that principals? leadership, cultural organization and competence have positive and significant influences on teachers? performance with job satisfaction as mediation. It means that rising of principals? leadership, organizational culture and competence will influence on job satisfaction, thus teachers? performance will increase too. Therefore, the suggestion for teachers that they should able to increase teachers? performance. It is an effort to improve the progress of Indonesian education.

Abstract

Improving communication skill through mathematics learning should be owned by students in their daily lives. Such effort should be done to reach mathematics learning purpose. This research aims to create review effectiveness of CIRC typed cooperative learning to students? mathematics communication skills, and obtain the existence of mathematics communication skill differences reviewed by student emotional quotient. This mixed method research used triangulation concurrent method. The subjects were fifth graders of 03 Public Primary School Ngaliyan Semarang. The findings showed that CIRC typed cooperative learning reached classical accomplishment with only 68.57%. It meant it had not reached classical accomplishment criteria 70%. The average of mathematics communication skill test by using CIRC was 71.54, better than those taught by discovery learning with 54.43. There was improvement of the students? mathematics communication. And the emotional quotients of the students did not influence their mathematics communication skill improvement. Thus, it could be concluded that CIRC typed cooperative learning could effectively improve mathematics communication skills of the students. Based on the findings, it is suggested to create questions emphasizing on indicators and implementing emotional quotients as efforts to improve mathematics communication skills.?
