Abstract

This Research aims to develop a decision support system that can facilitate the proposal selection process and provide an alternative ranking for the selection results of student creativity program proposal selection. This decision support system uses a combination calculation of the Simple Additive Weighting and Weigthted Product methods, hereinafter referred to as Modified SAW. The criteria used in this assessment refer to the 2020 Student Creativity Program Guidebook. The data used in this decision support system uses proposal selection data in the Student Creativity Development Unit of Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra in 2019 for 2020. This system was developed by determining criteria and weight determination using the Simple Additive Weighting method and then make improvements to the weight and determine the preference value using the Weighted Product method. Each of the SAW and WP methods certainly has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of SAW with a simple and simple ranking process, can be applied to decision-making cases such as in the recommendation of selecting proposals with various attributes. While the use of Weighted Product (WP) is often used because the weight is calculated based on the level of importance and can evaluate the set of attributes by multiplying all criteria with alternative results as well as the power between weights and alternative multiplication results. This WP method can also be used in assisting in recommendation of proposal selection based on what is needed by the University. By utilizing the advantages and disadvantages of each method, this combination is able to produce an accuracy of 91% for the SAW method, 97% for the accuracy using the WP and 99% for the accuracy value for the combination of the SAW and WP methods. This decision support system using MOD SAW can help facilitate the proposal selection process and provide alternative ranking results. Further research is suggested for the development of a decision support system for proposal selection using a combination of different methods between SAW and other methods.

Abstract

Abstract

Monitoring is a necessary part of Home surveillance that can be done through the internet network as a security measure. Many CCTV cameras on the market today continue to employ analog and conventional technology, specifically coaxial wire. As a result, extra expenditures for CCTV system wiring are required; besides being more expensive, the installation takes more handling, as the picture data cable and control signal cable cannot be merged. This project aims to develop a security system capable of detecting object movement in real-time utilizing a webcam camera attached to a raspberry pi. The findings of this study enable the development of a low-cost CCTV system that can be monitored remotely via the Internet of Things.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI)-based facial recognition technology has become a significant research topic in the field of computing and security. At the Indonesian Palm Oil Institute (ITSI), AI-based facial recognition is introduced to students to improve their skills in developing AI-based applications. This study aims to implement and test a facial recognition system using a Python program by utilizing a dataset generated independently. This research method involves several stages, namely collecting ITSI students' facial data, data processing, creating a facial recognition model using a machine learning algorithm, and evaluating model performance. The dataset used was developed through a live shooting session involving active student participation. The facial recognition model was trained using a convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm that was optimized to improve accuracy. The results of the study showed that the developed model was able to achieve high facial recognition accuracy, with an average accuracy rate of 92%. The discussion includes an analysis of factors that affect accuracy, such as variations in lighting and shooting angles, as well as the potential use of this technology in a campus environment, including for attendance and security purposes. The conclusion of this study shows that the implementation of AI-based facial recognition can be effectively applied in an academic environment, as well as providing students with practical experience in developing and testing AI applications. This study also opens up opportunities for further research on improving the performance of facial recognition systems and their application in various real-world scenarios.

Abstract

The palm oil industry is an important economic pillar in various countries, making a significant contribution to global vegetable oil production. Despite its vital role, oil palm growth is often faced with serious challenges such as pest and disease attacks that can threaten crop yields and plant health. Oil palm seeding, as the initial stage in the plant growth cycle, is key in ensuring optimal quality and productivity in the future. The successful application of mobile robot technology in detecting pests and diseases in oil palm nurseries will not only increase production efficiency, but also support the principles of sustainability and wise resource management.

Abstract

Messages require high security in the exchange process because the message is confidential and may only be read by the intended recipient. Information security problems in messages are often encountered, such as active eavesdropping, passive eavesdropping, fraud and data manipulation by unauthorized parties. To overcome this problem, cryptography can be used. This research uses cryptographic techniques with the Vigenere Cipher method to encrypt messages. The aim of this research is to encrypt messages to produce codes that will be sent to the recipient. The encryption process is carried out using the Vigenere Cipher method in the Python programming language. The researcher implemented a program to encrypt the message. The research results show that messages can be protected more strongly and securely. So, if the message is hijacked or intercepted by irresponsible parties, it will be difficult for them to find out the contents of the message. In this way, the confidentiality and authenticity of the message is maintained until it reaches the recipient.

Abstract

Dalam dunia komputasi awan yang semakin berkembang, ancaman serangan Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) menjadi isu yang sangat krusial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengimplementasikan model prediksi serangan DDoS menggunakan algoritma Random Forest dan analisis perilaku jaringan. Dataset CICIDS2017 digunakan sebagai sumber data utama untuk melatih dan menguji model prediksi yang dikembangkan. Pemilihan algoritma Random Forest didasarkan pada kemampuannya yang tinggi dalam menangani data besar dan kompleks serta kemampuannya dalam mengenali pola anomali yang sering menjadi indikasi serangan siber. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa model ini mencapai akurasi yang signifikan dengan precision sebesar 97,8%, recall sebesar 98,2%, dan F1-score sebesar 98,0%. Analisis perilaku jaringan yang diterapkan, melibatkan fitur-fitur dinamis seperti waktu antar paket (Inter-Arrival Time/IAT), ukuran rata-rata segmen, dan jumlah paket per detik, yang terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan deteksi model. Implementasi model dalam lingkungan komputasi awan menunjukkan bahwa metode ini dapat diintegrasikan dengan sistem deteksi intrusi (Intrusion Detection Systems/IDS) yang sudah ada untuk memberikan lapisan perlindungan tambahan terhadap serangan DDoS. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan kombinasi algoritma Random Forest dan analisis perilaku jaringan sebagai solusi yang efektif untuk mendeteksi serangan DDoS dalam lingkungan komputasi awan. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji model dengan dataset yang lebih beragam serta mengoptimalkan algoritma untuk meningkatkan performa deteksi.   Kata kunci: Random Forest, DDoS, Cloud Computing

Abstract

The increasingly rapid development of the culinary sector makes commercial competition in this field increasingly fierce. Food stalls serve a variety of menus and drinks, but stall owners need to strive to create product innovations in order to provide satisfactory service to customers. Under these conditions, a computer technician is needed to find out recommendations for food stall menus. The analysis method used is a data mining technique with the Apriori algorithm, where this algorithm is used to identify the data sets that appear most frequently (frequent itemset). The research results show that the highest support and confidence values ​​are Ayam Penyet and Fried Rice with 50% support and confidence values 76%. This can be a combination of menus suggested from data that has been collected and applied according to an a priori algorithm which is expected to be used to evaluate service and possibly increase guest satisfaction so that the Food Stall can develop more quickly.

Abstract

Desa Kelapa Bajohom merupakan salah satu desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Serbajadi, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Desa ini memiliki potensi dalam sektor perkebunan terutama dalam produksi kelapa santan. Besarnya produksi kelapa santan berbanding lurus dengan jumlah limbah perkebunan yang dihasilkan, salah satunya yaitu limbah tempurung kelapa. Limbah tempurung kelapa yang terdapat di Desa Kelapa Bajohom belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Hal ini terjadi karena minimnya kesadaran, pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat untuk mengelolah limbah tersebut. Tempurung kelapa merupakan biomassa yang dapat diolah menjadi briket arang. Sehingga, pengabdian melalui pelatihan pemanfaatan limbah tempurung kelapa menjadi briket arang di desa Kelapa Bajohom ini perlu diselenggarakan. Bahan yang digunakan antara lain tempurung kelapa, minyak tanah, tepung kanji, air. Alat yang digunakan korek api, lesung, baskom, saringan/ayakan, cetakan briket, wajan, kompor, pisau, ember. Teknik pembuatan briket sangat mudah, murah dan cepat. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah melalui sosialisasi dan langsung praktek. Hasil yang didapat dari terselenggaranya pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya kesadaran, pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat Desa Kelapa Bajohom dalam hal ini pemanfaatan limbah tempurung kelapa beserta tatacara proses pembuatan briket arang yang memiliki nilai jual.

Abstract

UMKM memiliki peran strategis dalam mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat, termasuk di Kabupaten Asahan, Sumatera Utara. Salah satu UMKM yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan adalah Keripik Selasih, yang memiliki produk unggulan namun masih mengalami kesulitan dalam pemasaran digital. Kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital menjadi hambatan utama dalam memperluas jangkauan pasar. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pelaku UMKM Keripik Selasih dalam bidang digital marketing, melalui pelatihan yang mencakup penggunaan media sosial, pembuatan konten kreatif, dan pemanfaatan platform promosi daring. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan, pelatihan tatap muka, praktik langsung, serta evaluasi hasil. Diharapkan melalui kegiatan ini, pelaku UMKM mampu memasarkan produk secara lebih efektif, memperluas jaringan konsumen, dan meningkatkan pendapatan usaha. Kegiatan ini juga menjadi bentuk kontribusi nyata mahasiswa dalam mendukung pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal melalui pendekatan teknologi informasi.
