The main purpose of this research is to find out the relationship of intellectual capital and three components of intellectual capital on the performance of public universities in Medan. Three components of intellectual capital such as human capital, structural capital and relational capital were taken as independent variables and universities’ performance was taken as dependent variable. The population of this research is three public universities in Medan, such as UIN-SU (Universitas Islam Negeri) of North Sumatera, USU (University of North Sumatra) and UNIMED (Universitas Negeri Medan). Sample for this research was 300 respondents, which is collected using convenience sampling technique from lecturers and employees of three public universities in Medan. Structured questionnaires were made as a research instrument to collect data form respondents. Structural Equation Model (SEM) with AMOS were used to test the relationship between components of intellectual capital and universities performance. Results indicate that (1) all the three components show a significant relationship with performance (2) among the three components, the relation of human capital is more prominent on performance of universities.

The aim of this research is to find out how the influence of incentive, and career development on performance with motivation as the intervening variable. The population of this research is lecturers of University of Muhammadyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU). Sample which is taken from all faculties in UMSU so the total sample size used for this research was 300 respondents, taken by using accidental sampling method. The data was taken by questionnaire method and the data analysis method is using path analysis with SPSS. The results shows that (1) incentive has a significant relationship with motivation and performance of UMSU’s lecturers (2) career developments has an insignificant relationship with motivation and performance of UMSU’s lecturers (3) motivation act as an intervening variable which is mediating the relationship between incentive and career development with performance of UMSU’s lecturers.

Literasi Keuangan dan inklusi keuangan menjadi faktor pendorong bagi perkembangan lembaga keuangan syariah saat ini. Adanya kebutuhan masyarakat yang semakin kompleks, tidak hanya masyarakat umum saja yang menggunakan lembaga keuangan syariah, tetapi kalangan anak muda juga sudah harus menggunakan produk lembaga keuangan syariah. Penelitian ini mengunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asossiatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa Ekonomi dan Bisnis jurusan Manajemen Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara Semester 6 (enam). Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan metode kuisioner, dokumentasi dan wawancara kepada responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Literasi keuangan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa dalam menggunakan lembaga keuangan syariah, inklusi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa dalam menggunakan lembaga keuangan syariah. Literasi keuangan dan inklusi keuangan secara simultan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa dalam menggunakan lembaga keuangan syariah.

Village-owned enterprises or Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) is currently trying to realize Indonesia’s development from the periphery by strengthening villages' unitary framework state. However, BUMDes in North Sumatera have not utilized the potential of natural resources and the village’s potential. This study aims to reveal forms of economic empowerment based on strengthening social capital in implementing BUMDes. This study uses qualitative method research and the data were obtained through in-depth interviews to determine citizens’ involvement and participation in developing of BUMDes. This study found that community economic empowerment through the implementation of BUMDes in Mandailing Natal Districts reveals several elements of the role of social capital, which includes; 1) The involvement and participation of the community which is quite large. 2) Relationships between BUMDes managers, village leaders, and community members in the implementation of BUMDes are built based on the social system and cultural values of the Mandailing community. 3) Social norms and community beliefs refer to the social system and cultural values of the Mandailing community. Social capital that has been built through the social and cultural system strengthens trust in village-owned enterprises governance as an effort to empower the community’s economy in Mandailing Natal.

The implementation of the Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to provide guidance and assistance to partners of micro handicraft entrepreneurs in implementing and implementing internet marketing as a means of business promotion to improve competitiveness and be able to manage business management that has an impact on expanding market aspects. This PKM program is held in 12 (twelve) months. The stages in implementing this PKM begin with Preparation, Direct Practice, Self-training, Implementation, Evaluation, and Development. The approach method used is the Learning Needs Based Method, Learning Goals and Objective, and Participant Center. The results achieved at this PKM are that Partners already have an Online Shop Website, scientific publications in community service journals, Publications on mass media / online, increased understanding, and business management skills and internet marketing, increased competitiveness, increased science, and technology in society and improved governance community value in the form of peace.

This study uses a quantitative approach with associative research types. This research was conducted on students of Economics and Business Management, Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra Semester 6 (six). The samples taken in this study were 100 people. Data collection techniques in this study using questionnaires, documentation and interviews with respondents. The results showed that financial literacy had a positive and significant effect on student interest in using Islamic financial institutions, inclusion had a positive and significant effect on student interest in using Islamic financial institutions. Simultaneously, financial literacy and financial inclusion have a positive and significant influence on student interest in using Islamic financial institution.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana korelasi kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi professional, kompetensi kepribadian dan kompetensi sosial dosen di lingkungan Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis UMSU terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis UMSU. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester lima Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis UMSU pada prodi Manajemen, Akuntansi, dan Ekonomi Pembangunan. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster dan mengambil sampel 275 mahasiswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan regresi berganda dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa kompetensi pedagogic, kompetensi professional, kompetensi kepribadian dan kompetensi sosial memiliki korelasi positif signifikan terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa S-1 Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis UMSU. Kompetensi dosen memiliki dampak yang secara nyata dan kuat terhadap perubahan hasil belajar mahasiswa, sehingga semakin baik kompetensi dosen maka akan semakin baik hasil belajar mahasiswa dan sebaliknya jika kompetensi dosen rendah dalam mengajar maka akan berdampak pada rendahnya kualitas hasil belajar mahasiswa

This activity aims to provide direct education and training to housewives in the Medan Estate District about increasing productivity and the economy through food security programs through the use of a limited home environment, namely the urban farming program. Then partners will help manage their commodity products that can be sold to help increase household income. Media and promotion of farming results can use social media by creating business accounts, even the results can first meet the needs of vegetables and food ingredients for their own household and for local residents. Activities are carried out through education and training with direct practice on urban farming, business planning to marketing using social media accounts so as to generate maximum profits and help the family economy. This PKM activity will be based on scientific journals and will be carried out through mass media, so that it can be known by the wider community that housewives also have great opportunities to become successful entrepreneurs with the use of a limited home environment by combining technology as a digital business medium.

The quality of the planting media affects the quality of oil palm plant growth because in the mini tan media there are important nutrients that support plant growth. One of the planting media that contains good nutrients for oil palm seedlings is rice husk charcoal with top soil soil. This planting medium is an effective alternative at a low price and easy for smallholder oil palm farmers to use in plantation areas for oil palm seedlings. The low literacy of smallholder oil palm farmers in the plantation area makes these service partners not aware of several alternatives in cultivation due to the low level of access to information about cultivation with various alternatives provided by nature. This service activity aims to provide education and increase partner literacy in the use of rice husk and top soil planting media as planting media for easy and inexpensive oil palm seedlings to support plant quality. Partners are very happy and give a positive response with active discussions in the entire empowerment process from introduction, education to assistance in trials of making the planting media

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh komitmen afektif terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan, untuk menganalisis pengaruh komitmen berkelanjutan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan, untuk menganalisis pengaruh komitmen normatif terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini karyawan tetap PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan. Dengan sampel sebanyak 51 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan cara wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan penyebaran angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi linier berganda, uji asumsi klasik, uji t, uji f, dan koefesien determinasi. Pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan SPSS 22 for windows.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan secara parsial terdapat pengaruh yang tidak signifikan antara komitmen afektif terhadap kinerja karyawan PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan. Secara parsial terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara komitmen berkelanjutan terhadap kinerja karyawan PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan. Secara parsial terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara komitmen normatif terhadap kinerja karyawan PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan. Secara simultan menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan komitmen afektif, komitmen berkelanjutan dan komitmen normatif terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan
