Abstract

Science and Social Studies learning in elementary schools still relies heavily on textbooks and printed worksheets, resulting in students who tend to be less active and less motivated in the learning process. This study aims to develop an Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) on the topic of magnetic force in IPAS subject for fifth-grade students, and to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness as a learning medium. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were 20 fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 064994 Medan. Data collection instruments included expert validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, and multiple-choice tests in the form of pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using validity and practicality percentage formulas, as well as the N-Gain formula to measure effectiveness. The results showed that the developed E-LKPD achieved an average expert validation percentage of 93% in the very valid category, an average practicality score of 92.3% from teachers and students in the very practical category, and an N-Gain value of 0.66 in the medium category, which is declared effective. Therefore, the PjBL-based E-LKPD developed is suitable for use as an interactive and contextual IPAS learning medium in fifth-grade elementary school.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low IPAS (Science and Social Science) learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 064973 Medan Tembung, particularly in the water cycle topic, where only 11 out of 29 students (37.93%) met the minimum learning achievement criteria (KKTP ≥ 75) with an average score of 58.79. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by audiovisual media on students' IPAS learning outcomes. This study employed a quantitative pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, involving all 29 fifth-grade students as the total sample. The instrument consisted of 20 multiple-choice items that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the average cognitive score increased from 47.93 on the pretest to 76.38 on the posttest, an improvement of 28.45 points. The paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), leading to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). In conclusion, the implementation of the PBL model assisted by audiovisual media significantly improved students' IPAS learning outcomes on the water cycle topic.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Problem Based Learning (PBL)-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) for Grade VI Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning on the topic of Energy and Its Utilization at SDN 104205 Tembung and to determine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects of the study were 20 Grade VI students. Data were collected through material expert validation sheets, design expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and pretest-posttest instruments. The results showed that the developed LKPD achieved a validity score of 90% from material experts, indicating a valid category. The practicality assessment based on student responses reached more than 90%, categorized as very practical. The effectiveness test using the N-Gain formula showed an increase in learning outcomes, with the average pretest score of 61.60 and posttest score of 84.43, resulting in an N-Gain value of 0.594 in the medium category. These findings indicate that the developed PBL-based LKPD is valid, practical, and sufficiently effective for IPAS learning while supporting the development of students’ 4C skills (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication).
