Abstract

Tata letak fasilitas berperan penting dalam kelancaran alur produksi dan efisiensi perpindahan material. UMKM Kerupuk Cabe masih memiliki tata letak yang belum optimal yaitu sebesar 440,8 meter, sehingga menyebabkan jarak perpindahan material cukup panjang dan alur produksi kurang efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang tata letak fasilitas serta membandingkan metode Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) yang meliputi analisis aliran produksi, From-To Chart (FTC), Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD), dan metode Grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jarak perpindahan awal sebesar 440,8 meter, sementara metode SLP menghasilkan jarak sebesar 240,6 meter, dan metode grafik menghasilkan jarak sebesar 306,4 meter. Sehingga metode SLP menjadi alternatif tata letak terbaik untuk meningkatkan efisiensi alur produksi dan pemanfaatan ruang pada UMKM Kerupuk Cabe.

Abstract

Tata letak fasilitas berperan penting dalam efisiensi aliran proses dan produktivitas. CV XYZ masih memiliki tata letak yang kurang optimal yaitu sebesar 1.527,00 meter, sehingga menyebabkan jarak perpindahan panjang dan proses kurang efisien. Penelitian ini merancang ulang tata letak menggunakan metode Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) dan Grafik melalui analisis From To Chart (FTC), Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), dan Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD). Hasilnya menunjukkan jarak perpindahan awal sebesar 1.527,00 meter, sementara metode grafik menghasilkan jarak  608,00 meter dan metode SLP menghasilkan jarak sebesar 604,20 meter. Berdasarkan hasil perbandingan tersebut, metode SLP menghasilkan tata letak yang paling efektif, sehingga penelitian ini mampu meningkatkan keteraturan aliran proses produksi serta efisiensi operasional secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa sekaligus menumbuhkan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan melalui pelatihan pembuatan lampu hias berbahan dasar stik es krim, bambu dan sendok plastik. Limbah stik es krim dan sendok plastik sering dianggap tidak bernilai dan menjadi salah satu penyumbang sampah domestik, sedangkan bambu tersedia melimpah sebagai bahan ramah lingkungan. Melalui kegiatan ini, siswa SMP Muhammadiyah diperkenalkan pada konsep daur ulang kreatif (upcycling) untuk mengolah material sederhana menjadi produk kerajinan yang artistik dan bermanfaat. Metode kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, demonstrasi pembuatan lampu hias, pendampingan praktik, hingga evaluasi hasil karya. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa siswa mampu menghasilkan lampu hias dengan berbagai desain inovatif dan fungsional. Kegiatan ini efektif dalam mengembangkan kreativitas, keterampilan motorik, serta meningkatkan kesadaran siswa akan pentingnya pengelolaan sampah dan pelestarian lingkungan. Program PKM ini diharapkan dapat diterapkan secara berkelanjutan dan dikembangkan menjadi produk kewirausahaan sekolah

Abstract

This study aims to redesign the layout of facilities at Tirta Kencana Ban Vulkanisir SME to improve production efficiency. The initial layout had problems in the form of unclear workstation boundaries, which caused workflow disruptions, inefficient operator movements, and the risk of musculoskeletal problems. To overcome these problems, this study applied and compared two methods, namely Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) and the Graphic Method. The research gap was addressed by focusing on the application of SLP in the tire vulcanizing SME sector, which has been rarely studied. The analysis was conducted in several stages, namely data collection, evaluation of the initial layout, and mapping of material movements using the Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD) and From-To Chart (FTC). The dual-method comparison showed that the Graphic Method was the most effective, reducing the total initial material movement distance from 421.5 meters to 349.3 meters, or a reduction of 15.73%. In addition, this new layout improves production flow, space utilization efficiency, and provides practical contributions in the form of reducing unnecessary operator movement, supporting improved ergonomics in the workplace, and minimizing the risk of musculoskeletal problems. Thus, redesigning the layout using the Graphic Method is a strategic solution to improve the operational efficiency and productivity of IKM Tirta Kencana Ban Vulkanisir. Keywords: Layout, Systematic Layout Planning, Tire Vulcanization

Abstract

The traditional instrument manufacturer IKM Kompang Kulit Kambing Medan Kampai experienced major problems with inefficient facility layout. This resulted in losses for the company due to high material handling costs, long production times, and decreased productivity. Systemic Layout Planning (SLP) was the method used in this study, supported by data collection and analysis through the use of relationship diagrams and process flow diagrams. Several new layouts were created to reduce transfer distances and material management costs. This study recently focused on traditional instrument SMEs using structured industrial techniques. In addition, comparing SLP with graphical methods provides a culture-based industrial perspective. The evaluation results show that the SLP approach is the best layout method, resulting in the shortest distance of 78. Meanwhile, the Graph Method resulted in a distance of 184.8. Thus, the Kompang Kulit Kambing Medan Kampai SME must reorganize its production space to be more efficient and effective. This will increase the competitiveness of SMEs and help preserve cultural heritage through sustainable production. Keywords: Facility Layout, Systematic Layout Planning (SLP), Graph Method, Production Efficiency, Culture-Based Industry.

Abstract

The printing SME sector often encounters inefficient facility layouts, leading to extended material flow, low productivity, and increased operational costs. This study aims to redesign the facility layout of Jasatama Computer SME in Dumai City to enhance spatial efficiency and workflow. The methods applied are Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) and a graph-based approach, using the rectilinear distance, activity relationship chart, and from-to chart to map the interrelationships among workstations. The practical implications of this study include improved spatial utilization, smoother material flow, and potential enhancement of productivity and workplace ergonomics in printing SME. From a scientific perspective, this research contributes by providing a comparative analysis of two layout design methods, SLP and the graph-based approach, in the SME printing sector, which has been rarely explored in prior studies. The findings highlight that adopting quantitative and systematic methods in facility layout redesign can be an effective solution to support SME sustainability and competitiveness. The analysis results indicate that the initial layout generated a total material transfer distance of 205.85 meters. The proposed SLP-based layout reduced the distance to 168.43 meters, while the graph-based approach produced 180.91 meters. Consequently, the SLP method achieved an 18.16% reduction in material handling distance, making it a more optimal alternative compared to the other method.
