Abstract

Nusa Tenggara Province that has significant human resources (HR) and natural resources (SDA) potential. This potential is an important capital in supporting the economic development of rural communities through cooperatives. The Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperative Program (KDKMP) is a strategic government policy to strengthen the people's economy, improve community welfare, and realize equitable distribution of village economic development. This study aims to analyze the role of the Red and White Village Cooperative in improving the community's economy in North Lombok Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through field observations, community interviews, literature studies, documentation, and document analysis related to village cooperatives. The results show that the Red and White Village Cooperative plays an important role in increasing community access to capital, developing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), expanding the marketing of local products, and creating jobs for rural communities. In addition, the presence of productive-age human resources is a major supporting factor in the development of cooperatives in the agriculture, trade, tourism, and creative industry sectors. However, cooperative development still faces various challenges, such as poor management quality, limited digital literacy, limited business plan development skills, and increasingly fierce market competition. Therefore, a strategy is needed to strengthen cooperatives through human resource capacity building, management training, MSME mentoring, digital technology utilization, and government and private sector support to enable cooperatives to develop independently, professionally, and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategies for strengthening students' religious character through habituation, role modeling, and school culture at SDN 1 Aikmual, Praya, Central Lombok. Religious character is one of the fundamental values that should be instilled from the elementary school level as the foundation for developing students' morality, ethics, and behavior in their daily lives. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis involving the school principal, teachers, and students. The data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the strategies for strengthening students' religious character at SDN 1 Aikmual are implemented through various religious habituation activities integrated into the school's culture. These activities include regular Imtaq (Faith and Piety) programs, the collective recitation of Surah Yasin every Friday, religious lectures, and the memorization of short chapters (surahs) of the Qur'an. In addition, the school organizes an extracurricular Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur'an (TPQ, Qur'anic Learning Center) outside regular Islamic Religious Education classes to enhance students' Qur'anic reading skills and understanding of the Qur'an. During the month of Ramadan, the school implements peer-assisted Qur'anic memorization and recitation activities in which students actively listen to and evaluate one another's memorization and recitation. These activities foster discipline, responsibility, and enthusiasm for learning Islamic teachings. The role-modeling strategy is reflected in teachers' consistent demonstration of religious values in their daily behavior, while the school culture is developed by creating an environment that continuously supports the practice and internalization of religious values. The findings further indicate that the integration of habituation, role modeling, and school culture effectively strengthens students' religious character, as reflected in their improved discipline in performing religious practices, enhanced ability to read and memorize the Qur'an, greater politeness and respect toward others, and stronger awareness of applying religious values in their daily lives. Therefore, these integrated strategies represent an effective model for strengthening religious character in elementary school settings.

Abstract

Principals are educational leaders who play a crucial role in building an effective, professional, and character-based work culture within the school environment. One of the characteristics that principals need to possess and strengthen is discipline, as this character influences the quality of school management, teacher performance, and the achievement of educational goals. However, various challenges in school management, such as suboptimal time management, consistent program implementation, and oversight of task implementation, indicate the need for efforts to strengthen the disciplined character of principals. One strategy that can be implemented is through transformational leadership training oriented towards increasing leadership capacity, exemplary behavior, motivation, and commitment to change. This activity aims to improve the understanding and ability of principals in applying the principles of transformational leadership as a means of strengthening the character of discipline. The training was conducted through a participatory approach that included material delivery, group discussions, case studies, self-reflection, and the development of follow-up plans. Participants were principals in Praya District who were from elementary school education levels. The results of this activity were an increased understanding of the concept of transformational leadership, a growing awareness of the importance of discipline as a core leadership value, and an increased ability to manage time, implement school programs consistently, and serve as role models for the school community. Furthermore, this activity can also encourage the development of a sustainable culture of discipline within the school environment through inspirational leadership practices oriented toward positive change.
