Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of tawassuth and religious moderation based on Islamic doctrinal sources and to analyze their relevance to the dynamics of Muslim life in the contemporary era. Using the library research method, this study finds that religious moderation represents an integral theological and ethical framework in Islam, as well as a solution to various modern religious issues such as intolerance, social polarization, and misunderstandings of religious doctrine. The findings affirm that tawassuth is not merely a moral value, but a foundational religious principle that is inclusive, adaptive, and supportive of the creation of a harmonious and civilized social order. Tawassuth, or the attitude of moderation, constitutes a principal teaching in Islam that emphasizes balance, justice, and the avoidance of extremism in religious practice. From the perspective of the Qur’an and Hadith, religious moderation is understood as the ideal identity of the Muslim community, as reflected in the concept of ummatan wasathan in Qur’an Surah al-Baqarah [2]:143. This concept teaches the importance of practicing religion proportionally neither excessively (ifrâṭ) nor negligently (tafrîṭ) while upholding values of public good, tolerance, and social responsibility. The Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) further emphasizes the importance of simplicity, prudence in religious practice, and the prohibition of radicalism and fanaticism that may undermine social harmony

Abstract

This study aims to quantitatively analyze the correlation between the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) policy and the development of tolerant attitudes among secondary school students. The research is grounded in the importance of religious education in shaping students’ character and promoting religious moderation amid the rising cases of intolerance. A correlational quantitative method was employed using a Likert-scale questionnaire that measured both the implementation level of IRE policy and students’ tolerance attitudes. The sample was selected through simple random sampling from several secondary schools. The findings indicate a positive and significant correlation between IRE policy implementation and students’ tolerance levels, with dialogical learning and teacher role modeling emerging as dominant factors. These results highlight the importance of comprehensive implementation of IRE policy in fostering tolerant and moderate students

Abstract

Human resource management in Islamic education has become a strategic issue in improving the quality, competitiveness, and sustainability of educational institutions in the modern era. This article aims to analyze the transformation of human resource management in Islamic education by focusing on major problems, global challenges, and future development prospects. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods through the collection of books, scientific journals, academic articles, and relevant documents related to Islamic educational management and human resource development. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify important themes and concepts associated with the transformation of human resource management in Islamic education. The findings indicate that Islamic educational institutions continue to face several major problems, including limited teacher professionalism, inadequate digital competence, weak organizational leadership, and insufficient welfare systems for educators. Global challenges such as digital transformation, educational competition, technological disruption, and changing student characteristics have intensified the need for strategic reform in educational management. However, Islamic education also possesses strong future prospects through the integration of Islamic values, digital innovation, continuous professional development, and transformational leadership models. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative analysis that combines the dimensions of organizational transformation, global educational challenges, and value-based human resource development within the context of twenty-first-century Islamic education
