Abstract

This community service activity was conducted at the Air Tiris Islamic Boarding School (PPMTI) in Kampar Regency, targeting students currently studying. The activity, themed "Strengthening Sharia Financial Literacy for Students at PPMTI in Kampar Regency," aimed to increase students' knowledge of sharia financial concepts in accordance with Islamic principles. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of sharia-compliant economic transactions after participating in the counseling. Prior to the activity, most participants had a limited understanding of the difference between sharia-compliant transactions and those containing riba (usury). Through the presentation of material, interactive discussions, and case studies relevant to everyday life, students gained a better understanding of the principles of justice, honesty, and welfare in economic activities. The counseling also succeeded in raising students' awareness to avoid riba practices and to be more selective in choosing sharia-compliant transactions. The enthusiasm of the participants throughout the activity demonstrated that the counseling was effective in improving sharia-compliant financial literacy within the Islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine sharia values in the offering process with a focus on the principles of transparency and honesty through a literature review approach. In the perspective of Islamic economics, the offering process is not merely understood as an economic activity, but also as a form of moral responsibility that must be aligned with Islamic values. Transparency requires the disclosure of information related to product quality, pricing, and conditions, while honesty emphasizes the integrity of business actors in every transaction. These two principles serve as fundamental foundations in preventing practices such as gharar, tadlis, and fraud in muamalah. In the context of the digital era, the implementation of transparency and honesty faces new challenges due to the rapid growth of online transactions and e-commerce, thereby requiring stronger ethical commitments from business actors. The findings indicate that consistent application of sharia values has a positive impact on enhancing consumer trust and loyalty. Furthermore, transparency and honesty play a crucial role in ensuring business sustainability by building reputation, credibility, and long-term competitive advantage. Thus, sharia values in the offering process are not only normatively relevant but also strategically important in supporting the development of a just and sustainable Islamic economy.

Abstract

The halal industry is a strategic sector with significant potential to support national economic growth, particularly in Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. As public awareness of halal products increases, the development of the halal industry is not only understood as fulfilling religious aspects but also encompasses increasingly significant economic, social, and global dimensions. The halal industry plays a crucial role in creating added value, expanding employment opportunities, and enhancing the competitiveness of national products in the international market. This article aims to comprehensively examine the halal industry development strategy in Indonesia by examining the concept of the halal industry, its current conditions and potential, the role of digitalization in expanding market access, applicable regulations, and various challenges and recommendations for its development. The research method used is a qualitative approach through literature review utilizing relevant and up-to-date scientific sources. The study results indicate that Indonesia has significant potential to become a global halal industry hub, supported by a large domestic market, abundant natural resources, and rapid development of digital technology. However, the development of the halal industry still faces various challenges, such as limited product competitiveness, suboptimal regulatory implementation, and a lack of human resource readiness. Therefore, an integrated and sustainable development strategy is needed so that the Indonesian halal industry can compete at the national and global levels.

Abstract

Sharia pension funds serve as an Islamic-principled financial protection instrument for retirement, yet their development in developing countries continues to face significant challenges. This study aims to examine the wadiah yad dhamanah contract as an innovation in sharia pension fund management, while comparing it with the profit-sharing mechanism through the mudharabah contract. A qualitative descriptive-analytical approach was employed through library research encompassing academic journals, fatwas, and relevant regulations. The findings reveal that the wadiah yad dhamanah contract guarantees full return of participants' principal funds, with voluntary hibah serving as an appreciative bonus, making it particularly suitable for participants with low risk tolerance. Unlike mudharabah, which requires participants to share investment losses, wadiah yad dhamanah provides certainty of capital return. Nevertheless, its implementation remains constrained by inadequate technical regulations, institutional governance complexity, low public literacy in Islamic finance, and limited halal investment instruments. Integrated regulatory strengthening, optimization of the Sharia Supervisory Board's role, and intensified digital-based financial education are essential to foster the inclusive and sustainable growth of sharia pension funds.
