Abstract

Background. The rapid growth of social media platforms has reshaped the way religious content is disseminated, particularly among younger audiences. TikTok, as one of the most popular social media platforms, has emerged as a significant space for Islamic influencers to engage in dakwah (Islamic preaching), reaching millions globally. Purpose. The study aims to investigate how influencers maintain the balance between religious teachings and the entertainment-driven nature of TikTok, and how this balance impacts the perception of authenticity among their followers. Method. A mixed-methods approach, including content analysis, interviews, and surveys, was used to gather data from 10 prominent Islamic influencers and 100 followers. Results. The findings show that influencers who incorporate personal stories, humor, and cultural references into their dakwah are perceived as more authentic, while maintaining audience engagement. However, challenges related to the commercial nature of TikTok and the potential compromise of religious depth were also identified Conclusion. This study concludes that TikTok offers a unique platform for Islamic dakwah, but it requires careful navigation of digital authenticity and content integrity to maintain credibility.

Abstract

Multilingual education has become an increasingly important educational approach for addressing linguistic diversity while promoting cognitive development and equitable academic achievement. Continuing debates regarding the role of mother tongue maintenance alongside second-language acquisition have generated contrasting perspectives on how multilingual instruction influences learners’ cognitive growth and educational performance. This study aimed to examine the relationship between multilingual education, mother tongue maintenance, cognitive development, and academic achievement within linguistically diverse school settings. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed involving 1,180 students from fifteen multilingual primary and lower secondary schools implementing different language instruction models. Quantitative data were collected using validated measures of mother tongue proficiency, second-language proficiency, executive functioning, metalinguistic awareness, cognitive flexibility, conceptual understanding, literacy achievement, and academic performance, and analyzed through multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, mediation analysis, and hierarchical regression. Qualitative evidence was obtained through interviews, classroom observations, focus group discussions, and institutional document analysis, followed by thematic interpretation. Findings revealed that sustained mother tongue maintenance significantly strengthened conceptual understanding, metalinguistic awareness, executive functioning, literacy development, and overall academic achievement. Teacher multilingual competence and family language support further enhanced multilingual learning by reinforcing classroom participation and cognitive flexibility. Results indicate that multilingual education achieves optimal outcomes when linguistic diversity is integrated into coherent instructional practices, supportive language policies, and culturally responsive teaching. The proposed framework provides practical guidance for developing multilingual educational systems that simultaneously preserve linguistic heritage and promote cognitive excellence.

Abstract

Aggressive behavior among elementary school students is a pressing issue that disrupts the learning environment and affects students’ social-emotional development. Individual counseling services have been identified as an effective intervention to address such behaviors by targeting underlying emotional triggers and promoting self-regulation. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of individual counseling services in reducing aggressive behavior among elementary school students. A quasi-experimental research design with a pre-test and post-test control group format was employed. The study involved 60 elementary school students identified as exhibiting aggressive behaviors, divided into an experimental group receiving counseling services and a control group receiving standard classroom management. Data were collected through behavioral observation sheets, aggression scales, and interviews with teachers. The findings revealed a significant reduction in aggressive behaviors in the experimental group compared to the control group. Students in the experimental group demonstrated improved emotional regulation and conflict resolution skills, as observed in both school and social interactions. These results underscore the importance of individualized interventions in addressing aggressive behavior and fostering a positive school climate.

Abstract

Prejudice is a pervasive issue in diverse societies, and addressing it at an early age can help reduce its long-term impact. This study explores the role of empathy in reducing prejudice among elementary school students in diverse cultural settings. The research aims to examine whether empathy training can effectively decrease prejudicial attitudes in students from different cultural backgrounds and whether such interventions are equally impactful across various cultural contexts. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining pre- and post-intervention surveys with in-depth interviews in a sample of 300 students from three culturally diverse elementary schools. The quantitative data, analyzed using paired t-tests and ANOVA, revealed a significant reduction in prejudicial attitudes among students who participated in empathy-building activities. The qualitative findings, derived from interviews with teachers and students, supported these results, suggesting that empathy training fostered greater understanding and respect for diversity. The study concludes that empathy plays a crucial role in reducing prejudice in young children and that culturally tailored empathy interventions are effective in diverse elementary school environments. This research emphasizes the importance of early interventions in promoting inclusivity and tolerance, offering practical insights for educators and policymakers in multicultural education.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has paved the way for innovative approaches in urban planning and infrastructure management. Digital twins, virtual replicas of physical entities, have emerged as a transformative tool in these fields, allowing for real-time monitoring and analysis.This research aims to explore the potential of digital twins in enhancing urban planning and infrastructure management. Specifically, it investigates how these technologies can improve decision-making processes, optimize resource allocation, and foster sustainable urban development. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data analysis from existing digital twin projects with qualitative case studies. Data were collected from various urban environments utilizing digital twins, focusing on metrics such as efficiency, cost savings, and stakeholder engagement. The findings reveal that digital twins significantly enhance urban planning by providing precise simulations of urban environments. Case studies demonstrated improved decision-making capabilities, leading to a 30% increase in resource efficiency and a 25% reduction in project costs. Stakeholder engagement also improved, with participants reporting higher satisfaction levels due to transparent processes. Digital twins represent a paradigm shift in urban planning and infrastructure management. The integration of real-time data and predictive analytics provides urban planners and managers with valuable insights, enabling more informed decisions. This research underscores the importance of adopting digital twin technologies to foster sustainable urban development and improve the overall quality of life in cities. Further studies are recommended to explore the long-term impacts of digital twin implementations across diverse urban contexts.

Abstract

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), known as the “queen of fruits,” is a highly perishable tropical fruit with a short shelf life. Post-harvest losses due to poor storage and handling are significant challenges, especially for export markets. Controlled atmosphere (CA) storage, which modifies oxygen, carbon dioxide, and humidity levels, has been identified as a promising technology for extending the shelf life of fruits while maintaining their quality. However, limited research has been conducted on the application of CA storage for mangosteen in tropical climates like Indonesia. This study aims to explore the use of controlled atmosphere storage to extend the shelf life and preserve the quality of mangosteen fruits. The research focuses on determining the optimal storage conditions for mangosteen using CA technology and assessing its impact on fruit quality parameters such as color, texture, firmness, and overall freshness. A laboratory-based experimental design was employed, where mangosteen fruits were stored under various controlled atmosphere conditions (oxygen, carbon dioxide, and temperature). The fruits were periodically evaluated for changes in quality parameters using standard techniques, including firmness testing and sensory evaluation. The results indicate that CA storage effectively extended the shelf life of mangosteen by up to 15 days compared to the conventional storage method. The fruits stored under optimal CA conditions showed minimal loss in firmness, color retention, and overall freshness. In conclusion, controlled atmosphere storage is a promising solution for extending the shelf life and maintaining the quality of mangosteen, making it a viable option for improving post-harvest management and enhancing marketability in export markets.

Abstract

The realization of fault-tolerant quantum computing is currently impeded by the stochastic nature of qubit decoherence and the inherent complexity of scaling control systems. This study rigorously evaluates the architectural innovations of Google’s Willow processor, specifically investigating its efficacy in mitigating noise through surface code error correction. The primary objective is to verify the hypothesis of exponential error suppression within a superconducting transmon array, determining if the system can surpass the critical “break-even” point. Methodologically, the research employs a quantitative performance analysis, configuring physical qubits into logical units of varying code distances (d=3 to d=7) and subjecting them to sustained syndrome extraction cycles under millikelvin cryogenic conditions. Results indicate a fundamental departure from previous scaling paradoxes; logical error rates were observed to halve with every increment in code distance, definitively crossing the algorithmic break-even threshold. The data confirms that real-time decoding and optimized tunable coupler designs effectively isolate errors, preventing topological lattice corruption. In conclusion, the Willow chip provides empirical validation that increasing system size now yields higher fidelity, establishing a critical engineering baseline for the development of large-scale, utility-grade quantum computers.

Abstract

The rapid and sensitive detection of pathogenic bacteria is paramount for preventing infectious disease outbreaks, ensuring food safety, and guiding clinical treatment. This study aimed to develop and validate a novel biosensing platform based on peptide-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles for the rapid, selective, and sensitive detection of a model pathogen, Escherichia coli O157:H7, in its early stages. Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles were synthesized and subsequently functionalized with a specifically designed, high-affinity peptide that targets an outer membrane protein of E. coli O157:H7. The detection was performed using a simple colorimetric assay based on the peroxidase-like activity of the MNPs, where the signal intensity was proportional to the concentration of captured bacteria. The peptide-functionalized MNPs demonstrated a high capture efficiency of over 95% within 20 minutes. The platform exhibited excellent sensitivity with a low limit of detection of approximately 15 colony-forming units per milliliter (CFU/mL) in buffer and 30 CFU/mL in spiked milk samples. The developed peptide-functionalized magnetic nanoparticle platform is a highly effective and robust system for the early-stage detection of pathogens. Its combination of speed, high sensitivity, and excellent specificity makes it a promising candidate for the development of portable, point-of-care diagnostic tools for applications in food safety, environmental monitoring, and clinical diagnostics, addressing a critical need for rapid and reliable pathogen screening.

Abstract

Background. The rapid ecological degradation occurring across Southeast Asia has intensified scholarly interest in indigenous philosophical systems that articulate holistic models of human environment relations. Tri Hita Karana (THK), a foundational Balinese philosophical framework emphasizing harmony among humans, nature, and the divine, has increasingly been invoked in discussions of sustainability; however, empirical and conceptual examinations of how THK can inform contemporary environmental ethics remain limited. Purpose. This study aims to analyze THK as a philosophical foundation for sustainable practices by exploring its metaphysical assumptions, socio-cultural manifestations, and potential integration into modern sustainability paradigms.   Method. The research employs a qualitative hermeneutic design, combining textual analysis of Balinese lontar manuscripts, ethnographic documentation, and thematic synthesis of secondary environmental studies. Results. The findings reveal that THK offers a distinctive triadic model of relational ethics parahyangan (divine harmony), pawongan (social harmony), and palemahan (ecological harmony) that collectively provide normative guidance for sustainable living and resource management. These principles demonstrate compatibility with contemporary ecological frameworks while offering culturally grounded motivations for environmental stewardship. Conclusion. The study concludes that the THK philosophy constitutes a viable ethical foundation for sustainable development, supporting integrative approaches that blend spiritual values, communal responsibility, and ecological awareness. The philosophical coherence and cultural rootedness of THK suggest strong applicability in policy design, environmental education, and community-based conservation efforts.

Abstract

Background. Geographically isolated communities face persistent structural constraints that limit access to resources, markets, and institutional support. However, these challenging conditions also act as a generative environment, fostering unique forms of innovation deeply embedded within local contexts. Purpose. This study aims to examine the development and sustainability of social entrepreneurship models under resource constraints. It specifically focuses on adaptive strategies, governance structures, and the processes of resource mobilization within these isolated settings. Method. The study employed a qualitative multiple-case study design, analyzing twelve social enterprises across the agriculture, education, and healthcare sectors. The research combined descriptive and inferential analysis to identify recurring patterns of innovation and organizational sustainability. Results. Findings indicate that innovation in these communities emerges through hybrid resource configurations, robust community engagement, and the integration of local knowledge systems. Furthermore, the evidence shows that participatory governance significantly strengthens organizational resilience, proving that constraints can drive sustainable entrepreneurial practices rather than just limiting them. Conclusion. The study concludes that social entrepreneurship in isolated areas requires a shift in innovation frameworks prioritizing relational dynamics, adaptability, and local agency over traditional metrics like scalability and resource abundance. These insights offer a foundation for designing development interventions that are contextually grounded and sensitive to local realities.
