Abstract

Research was aimed to study the effect of live feed Artemia salina and Rotifera on growth and survival rates of larva saline nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Research was counducted from March to April 2015 in Balai Budidaya Air Payau (BBAP) Takalar, Mapakalompo Village, Galesong Subdistrict, Takalar District, South Sulawesi. The fish was maintained in the 15 litre basin with density of 2 ind/litre. Larva fed according to the treatments: A (100% Artemia salina), B (100% Rotifera) and C ( 50% Artemia salina and 50% Rotifera) three times a day and was weighed three time a day during the research (12 days). Absolute growth and survival rates of each experimental unit was accounted at the end the experimental. the experimental was completely randomize designed with three treatments and six replicates. Results growth (1,54), while the highest survival rates (86,66%) was achieved at 50% Artemia salina feeding.   Keywords: Larva Saline Nile Tilapia, Artemia Salina, Rotifera, Growth, Survival

Abstract

Sceletonema costatum is one of a live feed with a golden brown box shape with a relatively small size about 4-15 microns, and has a high nutrient content. The research objective was to study the effect of long exposure (photoperiod) to the density of Sceletonema costatum in laboratory scale. The research was conducted in October to November 2015, taking place at the Laboratory of Aquaculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, University Tadulako, Palu. The study used completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments, (A) 12 light : 12 dark, (B) 14 light : 10 dark, (C) 16 light : 8 black, and (D) 18 light : 6 dark. The results showed the higher density of Sceletonema costatum cells are in treatment(C) 16 light : 8 dark as counted of 6.7 x 105 cells / ml.Keywords : Sceletonema costatum, Photoperiode, Density

Abstract

The site observational is at Morowali Regency, sample take is done on south Bungku district with 5 villages, which are Waru Waru, Jawi Jawi, Kaleroang, Bunginkela and Buajangka. Executed research up to 8 months. Observational target using survey method with direct sampling at the site as simple randoms sampling and purposives sampling, and direct interview with quesioner's. Output that resulting which is carrageenan analysis and seaweed agribusiness effort feasibility study. The product of carrageenan extraction result the higher purification points out that 30% available on Jawi Jawi’s seaweed, the lower (26,45 %) found on Waru Waru, and Morowali regency equals as big as 28.36%. Results of seaweed agribusiness effort feasibility study using five investment criterion showed that carrageenan agroindustri's effort is feasible.Key words : Agroindustry, carrageenan, seaweeds.

Abstract

The current study was conducted to identify ectoparasites, infected organs, prevalence and intensity of ectoparasites in cultured common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). Experimental animals were collected from ponds in 9 villages in 3 subdistricts in Sigi District. It was found that generally the common carp was infected by Dactylogyrus sp., Trichodina sp., Argulus sp., Epistylis sp., Chilodonella sp. and Ichthyophthirius multifilis. Infected organs consist of skin, fins and gills. The prevalence of ectoparasites per subdistrict was between 0.0 and 66.7 % and the intensity ranged from 0.0 to 3.0 individuals/fish. Key words: common carp, ectoparasites, prevalence, intensity.

This research was held in Morowali Regency from January to August 2010. Samples were taken at South Bungku in 5 villages: Waru – Waru, Jawi – Jawi, Kaleroang, Bunginkela and Buajangka. This study used survey method with taking sample directly in the study area by using simple random sampling, purposive sampling method and SIG method for land suitability. Image interpretation indicated that Eucheuma cottonii in station 1 in lack of harvest season, inappropriate class (S2) of 601,854 ha, inappropriate class (S3) of 2,363 ha, while in peak harvest season , appropriate class (S1) of 3,645 ha and less appropriate class of (S2) of 600,572 ha. Abstract

This study aimed to estimate the production of seaweed and assessed the physical and chemical suitability of waters for Gracilaria sp. Farmin in Morowali. Location of data sampling  consisted of two observation stations covering District Petasia (Station 1) with 6 substation samplings. Each substation consisted of 3 sampling points. Witaponda district (Station 2) consistied of 6 substations. Sampling was done in each substation with 3 point sampling. The study was conducted for 2 years from April 2011 to December 2012, with collecting primary and secondary data. Target achievement of this research used a survey method with direct field sampling with simple random sampling, purposive sampling and GIS method for compatability. Production of Gracilaria sp in 2011 was as much as 1.39 tonnes/ha/year, in 2012 was 1.8 tonnes/ha/year. On the cultivation of Gracilaria sp at Station 1,  suitable (S1) area of 71.46 ha, less suitable (S2) covering an area of 176.6 ha, not suitable (S3) class covering an area of 1.8 ha, while in the corresponding at station 2, (S1) covering 586 , 8 ha, less appropriate class (S2) covering an area of 1740.4 ha.
