Abstract

Abstract: This community empowerment initiative aims to enhance the digital readiness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Permata Baru Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, through the implementation of information systems and digital promotion strategies. Prior to the program, local MSME actors faced several challenges, including limited digital literacy, a lack of understanding of online marketing strategies, and minimal utilization of social media as a promotional tool, resulting in restricted market reach. The program adopts an educational and participatory approach, combining community-based learning, interactive discussions, and consultation sessions facilitated by lecturers and students from the Faculty of Economics, Sriwijaya University. The findings indicate strong enthusiasm among MSME participants and an improved understanding of how digitalization can expand market access. Participants have begun to utilize social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to promote their products. Overall, this initiative contributes to advancing digital literacy and technology-based marketing skills among rural MSMEs, thereby fostering inclusive and sustainable local economic growth. Abstract

The novelty of this study lies in its methodological contribution through the application of MICMAC (Matrix of Cross-Impact Multiplication Applied to Classification) structural analysis in the context of sustainable halal tourism village development in Indonesia, an approach that remains rarely explored in previous halal tourism and rural development studies. Unlike conventional approaches such as descriptive analysis or SWOT analysis, this study employs MICMAC to systematically map the direct and indirect influence-dependence relationships among strategic variables within a complex rural tourism system. This study contributes by developing an integrated structural framework that simultaneously incorporates rural economic development, halal tourism principles, institutional governance, community participation, digitalization, environmental sustainability, and local cultural preservation. Through MICMAC analysis, the study is able to identify key driving variables, relay variables, dependent variables, and autonomous variables, thereby providing a more comprehensive understanding of the causal structure underlying sustainable halal tourism village development. Methodologically, this study demonstrates that MICMAC analysis can serve as an effective strategic policy tool for identifying priority intervention areas in complex village-based tourism systems. The findings provide a more systematic and evidence-based foundation for policymakers in designing phased and sustainable halal tourism village development strategies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia’s labor market continues to face structural challenges characterized by disparities in human capital quality, regional economic inequality, and variations in open unemployment rates across provinces. This study aims to analyze the effect of human capital quality on labor market conditions, proxied by the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in 2024. Human capital is measured using the Human Development Index (HDI) and Mean Years of Schooling (MYS), while control variables include Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita and poverty rate. This study employs a quantitative approach using cross-sectional secondary data from 34 provinces obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS). A binary logistic regression model is applied to estimate the probability of provinces falling into a high unemployment category. The results indicate that the model is appropriate, with a Nagelkerke R² of 0.598 and a classification accuracy of 79.4%. Partially, HDI has a negative and significant effect on high unemployment, with an odds ratio of 0.724, implying that a one-point increase in HDI reduces the likelihood of high unemployment by 27.6%. In contrast, MYS has a positive and significant effect, with an odds ratio of 2.574, indicating a mismatch between educational attainment and labor market absorption. Meanwhile, GRDP per capita and poverty rate are statistically insignificant. These findings suggest that improvements in human capital have not been fully accompanied by structural economic transformation capable of absorbing educated labor. Keywords : Binary Logistic Regression, Human Development Index, Labor Market, Mean Years of Schooling, Open Unemployment Rate
