Abstract

Bamboo is increasingly recognized as a sustainable forest product due to its rapid growth, versatility, and potential for contributing to environmental conservation. As global concerns about deforestation, climate change, and resource depletion grow, bamboo presents an alternative material that is both eco-friendly and economically viable. However, there is still limited research on its full potential, particularly in terms of its environmental benefits and commercial applications. This study aims to explore the potential of bamboo as a sustainable forest product by evaluating its environmental benefits, economic feasibility, and various commercial uses. The research also examines how bamboo cultivation can contribute to sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining a literature review, field surveys, and interviews with bamboo industry experts. Data were collected from bamboo cultivation sites, assessing growth rates, carbon sequestration potential, and local economic impacts. Qualitative interviews provided insights into the challenges and opportunities within the bamboo industry. The study found that bamboo grows rapidly, sequesters significant amounts of carbon, and provides an income-generating opportunity for rural communities. Bamboo-based products, such as construction materials and textiles, are gaining popularity due to their eco-friendly nature. However, challenges remain in terms of market development and supply chain infrastructure. Bamboo has substantial potential as a sustainable forest product that can play a key role in environmental conservation and economic development. Future research should focus on scaling up bamboo cultivation and improving market access to maximize its benefits.

Abstract

Tropical peatland forests in Central Kalimantan, critical global carbon stores, are severely degraded and now act as major greenhouse gas sources due to drainage and fires. This study aimed to evaluate the ecological effectiveness and climate resilience of Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) for restoring the hydrological functions and biodiversity of these degraded ecosystems. A field experiment was established across 100 hectares, where the ANR method involved canal blocking to rewet the peat and selective planting of native pioneer species, monitored against control plots over five years. The results showed significant and rapid recovery. Canal blocking successfully raised the water table by an average of 40 cm, drastically reducing fire risk. Furthermore, native tree species richness in ANR plots was over 200% higher than controls, with canopy closure reaching 60%. ANR is highly effective, cost-efficient, and climate-resilient, providing a scalable model that prioritizes rewetting and facilitates natural successional pathways to restore critical ecosystem functions and secure long-term carbon storage.

Abstract

Background. This research explores the role of rituals and religion in shaping individual and group identities in various social settings. The background of this research is based on the role of rituals in connecting individuals with their communities and cultural heritage, which gives a deep meaning to collective identity. Purpose. This quantitative study aimed to investigate the preferences of Thai as a foreign language (TFL) learner for ten commonly discussed types of OCF. Specifically, it examined whether these preferences are influenced by four learner variables: proficiency level, first language (L1), foreign language classroom anxiety (FLCA), and foreign language enjoyment (FLE). Method. The study involved 288 university students from Chinese, Japanese, and Korean TFL settings, and the data from questionnaires were analysed using appropriate statistical methods. Results. The findings indicate that, regardless of proficiency level, L1, FLCA, or FLE level, learners prefer more explicit OCF techniques, such as metalinguistics feedback and explicit correction. However, Korean undergraduates scored lower in the majority of OCF strategies (i.e., ignoring, elicitation, recast, explanation, and public feedback) compared to the other participants. Conclusion. This study has significant implications for instructional practices in TFL settings and for L2 lecturers in the classroom. By understanding learners’ preferences for OCF, educators can tailor their instructional approaches to meet the specific needs of their students.

Abstract

Background. The integration of digital technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into agriculture and forestry holds great potential for enhancing sustainability monitoring, especially in Indonesia, where these sectors are crucial to the economy and environment. Purpose. The challenges of climate change, deforestation, and inefficient resource use have led to the need for advanced technologies to better manage natural resources and monitor sustainability in these sectors. This mini-review aims to assess the role of IoT and AI in improving sustainability monitoring in Indonesian agriculture and forestry, exploring the benefits, challenges, and future prospects. Method. A comprehensive review of existing literature, case studies, and reports was conducted to gather data on the applications of IoT and AI in agriculture and forestry in Indonesia. The research examines the current technologies being implemented, their impact on resource efficiency, and the potential for scalability and integration into existing systems. Results. The findings indicate that IoT-based sensors and AI-driven analytics have significantly improved data collection and decision-making processes, enabling better management of water, soil, and forest resources. However, challenges such as infrastructure limitations, data privacy concerns, and the need for skilled labor remain. Conclusion. In conclusion, digital technologies such as IoT and AI offer promising solutions for enhancing sustainability monitoring in Indonesia’s agriculture and forestry sectors. While progress is being made, there is a need for further investment in infrastructure, capacity building, and policy development to maximize the impact of these technologies.

Abstract

Industry 5.0 represents a fundamental shift toward a more human-centric paradigm in manufacturing by emphasizing enhanced collaboration between humans and robots, where autonomous systems are designed not only to optimize efficiency but also to improve safety and support workers in performing more complex and value-added tasks. In the Indonesian manufacturing context, the adoption of autonomous technologies is accelerating as industries seek to remain competitive; however, empirical evidence regarding their effectiveness in improving human-robot collaboration and workplace safety remains limited. This study addresses this gap by exploring the role of autonomous systems in Industry 5.0 and examining how integrated safety protocols and collaboration strategies can enhance both operational efficiency and occupational safety. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines qualitative insights from interviews with industry experts and quantitative data derived from experimental implementations of autonomous robotic systems in Indonesian manufacturing environments. The findings demonstrate that the deployment of adaptive safety systems significantly strengthens human-robot collaboration, resulting in a 30% reduction in workplace accidents and a 20% increase in production efficiency. These results indicate that well-designed autonomous systems can effectively minimize risks while enabling workers to interact more confidently and productively with robots, thereby supporting the conclusion that Industry 5.0 technologies hold substantial potential for improving safety standards and overall performance in Indonesian manufacturing settings.

Abstract

In the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions, the development of green hydrogen production technologies has garnered significant attention. Photocatalytic water splitting is one of the most promising methods to generate hydrogen using solar energy. This study focuses on bioinspired photocatalysts for green hydrogen production, aiming to enhance the efficiency and scalability of photocatalytic processes. The research explores the principles behind bioinspired photocatalysts, which mimic the natural processes of photosynthesis in plants, and their potential to provide eco-friendly energy solutions. The primary objective of this research is to investigate novel bioinspired photocatalysts for efficient hydrogen production under solar irradiation. A combination of experimental methods, including synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation of photocatalysts, was used. The study employs various techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, and electrochemical tests, to assess the photocatalytic performance under simulated sunlight. The results reveal that the bioinspired photocatalysts exhibit significantly enhanced hydrogen production rates compared to traditional catalysts. Notably, the integration of natural materials such as plant-derived components improves the photocatalytic efficiency and stability. In conclusion, bioinspired photocatalysts hold great promise for large-scale green hydrogen production, offering a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to conventional energy solutions. Future research will focus on optimizing these catalysts for industrial applications.

Abstract

Rapid digital transformation has fundamentally reshaped financial reporting by increasing organizational demand for timely, accurate, and transparent financial information. Conventional accounting systems frequently struggle to satisfy these expectations because periodic reporting, fragmented data management, and limited accessibility reduce organizational responsiveness and decision quality. This study aimed to evaluate the benefits and challenges of cloud-based accounting systems in supporting real-time financial reporting and organizational performance. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed using data collected from 310 organizations and 1,240 accounting professionals representing multiple industrial sectors. Quantitative analyses incorporated descriptive statistics, structural equation modeling, hierarchical regression, mediation and moderation analyses, while qualitative evidence from expert interviews, organizational observations, and policy document reviews was analyzed through thematic analysis. Findings demonstrated that cloud-based accounting significantly improved reporting timeliness, financial reporting accuracy, audit efficiency, managerial decision-making, organizational agility, and regulatory compliance. Reporting timeliness partially mediated the relationship between cloud capability and organizational performance, whereas cybersecurity readiness and employee digital competence strengthened implementation effectiveness.

Abstract

In today’s era of globalization, it is important for developing countries to achieve sustainable development. However, sustainable development requires consideration of social, cultural, and environmental perspectives in addition to economic ones. Islamic economic law emerges as an alternative solution amidst this complexity, offering principles that promote a balance between economic growth and social justice. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the impact of Islamic economic law on sustainable development in developing countries. This involves analyzing how the principles of the law are applied in the economic activities of these countries, as well as how they impact aspects of sustainable development such as social stability, poverty alleviation, environmental preservation, and inclusive economic growth. In this study, qualitative methods will be used to investigate the literature and analyze the comparison of developing countries that implement Islamic economic law at various levels. Data will be collected from primary and secondary sources, including financial reports, legal documents, and case studies on the implementation of Islamic economic law in certain countries. Studies show that the implementation of Islamic economic law benefits sustainable development in developing countries. Sustainability, justice, and economic and social balance have been shown to promote inclusive economic growth, improved social welfare, and more sustainable management of natural resources.

Abstract

The emergence of nano-medicine has introduced transformative approaches for the treatment of degenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and osteoarthritis. These technologies enable targeted drug delivery, enhanced bioavailability, and improved therapeutic precision. Despite clinical potential, ethical challenges related to patient comprehension, informed consent, and long-term safety remain underexplored, particularly for vulnerable populations affected by cognitive decline. Understanding these challenges is critical for aligning technological innovation with bioethical principles. This study aims to investigate the bioethical issues arising from the use of nano-medicine in degenerative disease therapy and to identify strategies that enhance ethical implementation in clinical practice. The research further seeks to develop a conceptual framework to guide ethical decision-making in emerging medical technologies. A qualitative exploratory design was employed, including fifteen participants comprising clinicians, patients, and regulatory authorities. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation of clinical interactions, and document analysis of protocols and consent forms. Thematic coding and triangulation were applied to elucidate patterns in ethical practices, communication strategies, and institutional oversight. Findings indicate that patient comprehension varies significantly with age and cognitive status, while clinician strategies and institutional protocols influence ethical adherence. Iterative consent processes and technological support enhance transparency, autonomy, and responsible clinical practice.

because substantial genetic heterogeneity, dynamic tumor evolution, and variable treatment responses limit the effectiveness of standardized clinical protocols. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of Digital Twins for cancer therapy simulation and to examine their contribution to genetic-based medical personalization and clinical decision support. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed involving 480 patients treated at tertiary oncology centers. Quantitative analyses included descriptive statistics, structural equation modeling, survival analysis, mediation and moderation analyses, whereas qualitative evidence was obtained through semi-structured interviews, clinical observations, multidisciplinary case reviews, and document analysis. Findings demonstrated that Digital Twin-assisted treatment planning significantly improved simulation accuracy, treatment response prediction, therapeutic precision, physician decision confidence, and multidisciplinary coordination while reducing anticipated adverse treatment events. Results indicate that Digital Twin technology provides a comprehensive precision oncology framework by integrating computational intelligence, genomic medicine, and real-time clinical information to optimize individualized cancer therapy, improve evidence-based decision-making, and enhance long-term patient outcomes while supporting the broader implementation of personalized medicine.
