Abstract

Introduction: The mismatch between interests and study program selection remains a challenge at many Private Universities (PTS) in Jakarta. This inaccuracy negatively impacts student enthusiasm for learning, academic achievement, and dropout rates. This study aims to analyze factors influencing the decision to choose a study program (Y), with Student Interest (Z) as an intervening variable. The independent variables used include Facilities and Service Facilities (X1), Education Fees (X2), Marketing Communication (X3), Lecturer Competence (X4), Job Prospects (X5), Self-Motivation (X6), and Family Support (X7)Methods: This study used a quantitative method, distributing questionnaires to 119 students at several private universities in Jakarta, and analyzed the data using multiple regression, classical assumption tests, the Sobel test, and the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²).Results: The research findings show that Job Prospects (X5), Self-Motivation (X6), and Family Support (X7) impact students’ bias in choosing a study program, while other variables do not have a significant effect. The Sobel test indicates that Student Interest (Z) mediates only the influence of Self-Motivation (X6). The research model is valid with R² = 0.733 and Adjusted R² = 0.713. These findings confirm the importance of motivation, family support, and job prospects in students’ academic decisions. Conclusion and suggestion: Job prospects, self-motivation, and family support significantly influenced the decision to choose a study program, while other factors did not. Student interests did not mediate the effect of self-motivation. Universities need to strengthen career guidance and emphasize job prospects to facilitate informed study decisions. Abstract

Environmental and energy issues have become global concerns due to the increasing impacts of climate change. Education plays a strategic role in fostering awareness and responsibility among younger generations regarding sustainable energy management. In the Indonesian context, where the majority of the population is Muslim, integrating Islamic values into green energy education is highly relevant to strengthen ecological awareness and ethical responsibility toward the environment. However, studies that systematically integrate Islamic values into digital platforms for green energy education remain limited. This study aims to develop an educational digital media in the form of a website that integrates green energy learning with Islamic values for use in higher education. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through a needs assessment survey, expert validation, and user feasibility testing involving respondents, and were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results indicate that the developed website, “Islamic Green Energy,” achieved a very high feasibility level based on expert validation with a score of 90.38%, and received highly positive responses from users, with all evaluation indicators scoring above 85%. These findings suggest that the website is considered appropriate and user-friendly as a digital learning medium for introducing green energy concepts integrated with Islamic values. The novelty of this research lies in the systematic integration of Islamic ethical values into a digital green energy education platform, contributing to the development of value-based digital learning media in sustainable energy education at the higher education level.

Abstract

Climate change mitigation requires higher education institutions to identify and control carbon emission sources generated by their operational activities. Previous studies in university environments have generally focused on carbon footprint quantification without systematically analyzing the root causes of emissions and identifying priority improvement actions. Therefore, this study proposes the integration of Carbon Footprint assessment with the Seven Tools approach within a Statistical Process Control (SPC) framework to identify dominant emission sources, analyze root causes, and formulate emission reduction strategies. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method using one-year operational data consisting of electricity consumption and fuel usage. Carbon emissions were calculated based on IPCC emission factors and subsequently analyzed using selected Seven Tools, namely histogram, Pareto diagram, and fishbone diagram. The results indicate that electricity consumption (Scope 2) contributed 1,112,996.46 kg CO₂/year or 98.23% of total emissions, whereas fuel consumption (Scope 1) accounted for only 20,066.67 kg CO₂/year or 1.77%. Fishbone analysis revealed that the dominant causes originated from human behavior, inefficient equipment, lack of energy management procedures, and dependence on fossil-based electricity. The novelty of this study lies in applying Seven Tools, traditionally used for quality improvement, to carbon emission management in higher education institutions. The findings provide practical guidance for energy management programs and demonstrate that electricity efficiency and renewable energy adoption could potentially reduce institutional carbon emissions by more than 20–30%.

Abstract

The Indonesian government in the National Energy General Plan (RUEN) targets the number of electric vehicles to be 2,200 four-wheeled vehicles and 2.1 million two-wheeled vehicles which must be achieved at least by 2050. Currently, the number of motorized vehicles that are widely used is motorbikes, because the price is relatively cheap, can penetrate traffic jams and use less fuel when compared to other motorized vehicles. Electric motorbikes are an alternative that can reduce the impact on the environment and support government programs in achieving the RUEN target. This study aims to determine the interest of teenagers in using electric motorbikes. By conducting a survey of 144 teenagers based on 4 aspects, namely Environmentally friendly, price, infrastructure availability and operational costs. After the survey was collected, a statistical test of Validity, Reliability and normality was carried out to determine the level of accuracy of the survey data and the results were Valid, Reliable Questionnaires but the data was not normally distributed. Then by using one of the tools in Statistical Process Control, namely the Pareto Diagram which has a rule of 80: 20, the results showed that Respondents realized that electric motorbikes were more environmentally friendly than motorbikes with gasoline fuel. However, in terms of price, respondents have not yet influenced them in buying electric motorbikes. While in terms of infrastructure availability, respondents also considered it inadequate. Meanwhile, in terms of operational costs, respondents also did not influence their interest in buying.
