Kualitas visual ilmiah dalam buku ajar perguruan tinggi merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam mendukung keterpahaman materi dan efektivitas pembelajaran. Namun masih banyak dosen yang mengalami keterbatasan dalam merancang bagan dan diagram ilmiah yang sistematis, komunikatif, dan menarik secara visual. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dosen dalam pembuatan bagan dan diagram ilmiah melalui pemanfaatan aplikasi App-Diagrams. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan pelatihan berbasis praktik yang meliputi tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, serta evaluasi dan refleksi. Mitra kegiatan adalah 22 dosen dari berbagai fakultas di Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram. Sistem evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi langsung selama kegiatan dengan menilai kemampuan peserta dalam membuat berbagai jenis bagan dan diagram ilmiah menggunakan menu General, Advanced, dan Infographic pada aplikasi App-Diagrams, serta refleksi melalui diskusi terbuka. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 80% dosen mitra telah memahami dan mampu menghasilkan bagan dan diagram ilmiah yang layak digunakan dalam buku ajar atau referensi akademik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berbasis pendampingan praktik efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan visual ilmiah dosen dan mendukung pengembangan bahan ajar yang lebih berkualitas. Kegiatan ini juga berkontribusi pada peningkatan mutu pendidikan tinggi melalui penguatan kualitas penyajian materi pembelajaran berbasis visual ilmiah. Optimizing The Visual Quality of Textbooks Through Training in the Creation of Scientific Charts and Diagrams Using the App-Diagrams Application for Lecturers Abstract The quality of scientific visuals in college textbooks is one of the important factors in supporting material comprehension and learning effectiveness. However, many lecturers still experience limitations in designing systematic, communicative, and visually appealing scientific charts and diagrams. This community service activity aims to improve lecturers' competence in creating scientific charts and diagrams through the use of the App-Diagrams application. The activity was conducted using a practice-based training approach that included preparation, implementation, evaluation, and reflection stages. The activity partners were 22 lecturers from various faculties at Muhammadiyah University Mataram. The evaluation system was carried out through direct observation during the activity by assessing the participants' ability to create various types of scientific charts and diagrams using the General, Advanced, and Infographic menus in the App-Diagrams application, as well as reflection through open discussion. The evaluation results showed that 80% of the partner lecturers understood and were able to produce scientific charts and diagrams suitable for use in textbooks or academic references. These findings indicate that practice-based mentoring training is effective in improving lecturers' scientific visual skills and supporting the development of higher-quality teaching materials. This activity also contributes to improving the quality of higher education by strengthening the quality of scientific visual-based learning materials.
