Abstract

Cervical cancer remains a leading cause of mortality among women worldwide, primarily due to challenges in early and accurate detection. Conventional screening methods like Pap smears are subject to human error and have moderate sensitivity. This study aimed to develop and validate a novel, non-invasive diagnostic platform combining Raman spectroscopy with artificial intelligence (AI) for the rapid and highly accurate detection of early-stage cervical cancer biomarkers. The objective was to create a system that could overcome the limitations of current screening techniques. We collected cervical cell samples from clinically diagnosed healthy, pre-cancerous (CIN I-III), and cancerous patients. Raman spectroscopy was used to acquire high-resolution biochemical fingerprints from these samples. A custom-developed convolutional neural network (CNN) was then trained on the spectral data to learn and identify subtle biomarker-associated patterns indicative of neoplastic transformation. The AI-augmented system achieved a diagnostic accuracy of 96.5%, with a sensitivity of 98% and a specificity of 95% in differentiating high-grade lesions and cancerous samples from healthy ones. The model successfully identified key spectral shifts related to nucleic acid and protein conformational changes, correlating them with disease progression.

Abstract

Background. This study is grounded in the growing recognition that complex environmental and public health challenges cannot be effectively addressed through sectoral approaches that separate human, animal, and environmental health. Accelerating climate change, biodiversity loss, emerging zoonotic diseases, and environmental degradation have intensified interactions across these domains, revealing critical weaknesses in fragmented health governance. Purpose. The objective of this research is to examine how the One Health approach can serve as an integrated framework to bridge disciplinary and institutional gaps in addressing contemporary environmental and public health challenges. Method. The study employs a qualitative integrative review design, synthesizing evidence from peer-reviewed international journals, policy reports, and global health frameworks to identify patterns, mechanisms, and implementation strategies associated with One Health practices. Results. The findings indicate that One Health-oriented interventions enhance early disease detection, improve risk communication, strengthen environmental monitoring, and support more resilient public health responses through cross-sector collaboration. The results also demonstrate that institutional coordination, data integration, and shared governance structures are decisive factors in translating One Health principles into measurable health outcomes. Conclusion. The study concludes that the One Health approach represents a transformative paradigm for public and environmental health governance, offering a robust pathway to manage systemic risks at the human–animal–environment interface. Strengthening policy alignment, interdisciplinary capacity, and institutional commitment is essential to realize its full potential.

Abstract

As an evolving discipline, public health encompasses many aspects of health, including epidemiology, environmental health, global health, public health interventions, health policy, health promotion, and others. Globally, research in public health continues to increase in line with the increasing complexity of health challenges faced by people in different parts of the world. To understand these research trends, bibliometric studies can provide valuable insights. This study aims to analyze public health research trends from 2018 to 2022 based on indexed scientific publications. By involving the analysis of indexed scientific publications, this objective includes mapping the dominating research themes, identifying the most influential publications, as well as measuring researcher collaboration across institutions. The research method used a bibliometric study conducted using relevant databases to identify, collect, and analyze scientific publications related to public health within the specified time frame. The results of this study show an increase in the number of scientific publications in public health research during the period 2018-2022. Dominating themes include global health issues, public health interventions, epidemiology, and environmental health. In addition, collaboration between researchers was also noted to increase, indicating a synergized effort in addressing public health issues across disciplines and countries. The conclusions of this study provide an in-depth understanding of public health research trends over the period, highlighting key foci and developments in the discipline. These results can help guide future research directions in support of global public health efforts.

Abstract

Public nutritional awareness is an important factor in realizing a healthy diet and balanced lifestyle. Health education methods have a vital role in increasing understanding and awareness of nutrition among the public. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of health education methods in increasing public nutritional awareness. The method in this research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method involving various groups of people with social and educational backgrounds. The educational methods used consist of several methods with educational material about nutrition. Data was collected through questionnaires before and after the educational intervention was carried out. The results of this research show an increase in the level of public nutritional awareness after implementing health education methods. Respondents who took part in the education program showed better knowledge about nutritional value, healthy eating patterns, and their impact on health. Apart from that, participants also showed more positive behaviour regarding food choices and a healthy lifestyle. The conclusion of this research is that the health education method has proven to be effective in increasing public nutritional awareness. Implementing educational programs can influence people's knowledge, attitudes and behaviour regarding nutrition and health. This provides a strong basis for continuing to develop and improve health education efforts to create a society that is more aware of the importance of nutrition in maintaining health and well-being.

Abstract

Gerontology nurses play a vital role in providing care that is holistic and sensitive to the special needs of the elderly population. However, strong interpersonal relationships between nurses and elderly patients are often compromised by a lack of effective communication skills. Therefore, improving communication skills is important to ensure optimal quality of care for this population. This study aims to explore the effect of communication skills training on gerontic nurses in improving interpersonal relationships with elderly patients. The main focus is to assess whether the training can improve the nurse's ability to communicate with patients effectively, thereby strengthening the interpersonal relationship between the two. This research method uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental pretest-posttest design. The research results and data analysis showed a significant increase in the communication skills of gerontic nurses after undergoing training (p <0.05). In addition, there was a substantial improvement in interpersonal relationships between nurses and elderly patients. These results indicate that communication skills training is effective in improving interpersonal relationships in the context of gerontology care. This research concludes that communication skills training plays an important role in improving interpersonal relationships between gerontic nurses and elderly patients. These findings highlight the importance of investing in the development of communication skills for gerontology nurses to improve the quality of care for the ageing population. This research implies that communication skills training should be an integral part of gerontology nurses' training and development programs to ensure that they can provide sensitive and effective care for elderly patients.

Abstract

Climate change poses a significant threat to global health, exacerbating existing health challenges and creating new risks. Rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and shifting disease patterns are already contributing to the increasing burden of diseases such as malaria, heatstroke, and respiratory disorders. This research explores the role of science and technology in adapting to the health impacts of climate change, focusing on innovative solutions to mitigate the health risks associated with environmental changes. The study employs a systematic review approach, analyzing data from 50 peer-reviewed studies that examine technological advancements, such as climate-resilient healthcare infrastructure, early warning systems, and the development of heat-resistant crops. The results indicate that technology-based adaptation strategies can significantly reduce the impact of climate change on public health by improving disease forecasting, enhancing healthcare system resilience, and supporting preventive measures. The study concludes that multi-disciplinary approaches involving science, technology, and policy-making are crucial to address the health challenges posed by climate change. Collaboration across sectors is needed to implement these strategies on a global scale, ensuring equitable access to climate-related health solutions. This research underscores the importance of continued investment in climate-resilient health systems to safeguard global health in the face of climate change.

Abstract

Background. Climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges, with significant consequences for ecosystems, economies, and human societies. International environmental law plays a critical role in shaping global efforts to mitigate climate change by establishing legal frameworks for cooperation and action. Objective. This study aims to analyze the role of international environmental law in climate change mitigation efforts, with a focus on the key legal instruments and agreements that shape global climate governance. The research seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of these legal frameworks in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable environmental practices. Method. A qualitative research design was employed, using case studies, legal analysis, and interviews with environmental law experts, policymakers, and practitioners. The study examined major international agreements such as the Paris Agreement and the Kyoto Protocol to assess their impact on climate change mitigation efforts. Results. The findings indicate that while international environmental law has contributed to raising awareness and setting targets for climate change mitigation, the implementation of these efforts remains uneven, with many countries struggling to meet their commitments due to domestic challenges. Conclusion. The study concludes that international environmental law has been instrumental in global climate change efforts, but enhanced implementation mechanisms and greater international cooperation are necessary to achieve meaningful progress.
