Abstract

UKM SBS Garage and Paint is a service business in the field of vehicle painting services in Batam. When finished painting, the painter has a problem, namely large and medium-sized vehicle parts will be left for drying not enough to load into the storage cabinet, so that the drying process time becomes long and the storage cabinet is dirty, so the work process becomes late due to waiting for more time, and makes customers wait due to the delay in time from the agreement then the business location has a small size so that there is a lack of neatness due to the large number of vehicle parts. The purpose of this study was to find out a redesign that can shorten the drying time. The method used in this study is the NIDA (Need, Idea, Decision and Action) method. The result of this study is to get a design choice as needed (need) is an alternative with action, namely increasing the size of the cabinet with 180cm x 80cm x 180cm (length x width x height) with the use of iron and aluminum materials with the addition of 4 wheels and 8 pieces of incandescent lamps. After data analysis and data testing, the results obtained that the old storage cabinet can cover a temperature of 25 ° C - 30 ° C with an output of 5 per day, while after redesign get a room temperature result of 45 ° C - 50 ° C with an output of 33.6 per day.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the business development of laundry services in Batam, focusing on Doc Laundry. The main issue identified is to enhance operational efficiency and marketing through SWOT analysis. The research methods include literature review, qualitative and quantitative data collection, and SWOT analysis to identify business strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Findings indicate potential for increased use of social media and digital payment as opportunities, alongside threats from competitors employing similar marketing strategies. Business development recommendations based on SWOT analysis are proposed to enhance competitiveness and efficiency in the laundry business in Batam. This study is expected to contribute to the development of SMEs in the laundry service sector.

Abstract

PT Tobacon is one of the distribution companies in Batam that offers quality and innovative coiling wire rope products to meet the needs of ship construction. The problem in this research is that the performance of the hydraulic wire rope press machine is not effective and the machine often experiences downtime, so that the output is not fulfilled. The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors that cause the ineffectiveness of the hydraulic wire rope press machine so that improvement recommendations can be determined on the hydraulic wire rope press machine. The method used in this research is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to get the value of availability, performance efficiency and rate of quality. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the main factors affecting the OEE value of the Hydraulic Wire Rope Press machine were availability with an average of 84% and performance rate with an average of 88%, caused by the lack of regular machine checks which resulted in engine interference. Improvement recommendations suggested to increase effectiveness are Planned maintenance by scheduling maintenance according to machine conditions, creating maintenance standards for components and machines and providing training to operators. In addition, preventive maintenance is carried out by regularly maintaining the main components and providing lubrication to moving components to prevent component wear.

Abstract

PT.Sumbartec jaya lievindo located in Batam, Indonesia, is a leading company in the manufacturing and technology sector. The problem that occurs in this study is that manual and automatic (CNC) cutting machines cause several defects in the plate, such as non-diagonal cutting and uneven edges, which result in defective products and interfere with the effectiveness of the production process. The purpose of this study is to measure machine performance using the OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) approach so that recommendations can be given to improve machine effectiveness by applying causal analysis (fishbone). The method used in this research is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) as a tool to measure overall equipment performance. Based on the results of the study, it is found that the average availability value is 83%, for the average performance value, the value is 87%, while the average rate of quality product is 93%, and the average value (OEE) is 67% Thus, the average OEE value is still below the World OEE Class standard which is worth 85%. The types of six big losses that dominantly cause low OEE values on cnc plate cutting machines are reduced speed losses and equipment failure losses have the same value as Idling & minor stoppages. Idling & minor stoppages 17% is the biggest losses of all losses that occur and equipment failure losses are in second place with a value of 16.%.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company engaged in Industry and provider of business areas and business support facilities. One of the facilities provided by PT XYZ is power plant construction. In power plant construction there are various types of work, one of which is the joint Medium Voltage (MV) panel process. The problem that occurs in this study is that there are cases of work accidents that occur in the Joint mv panel process so that it is necessary to control K3 risks to prevent work accidents. The purpose of this study is to identify potential hazards and make control efforts to reduce the level of risk of hazards in joint mv panel work. The method used in this research is HIRADC (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Determining Control). The results of this study obtained a decrease in risk levels after control, where there are 2 jobs (29%) with extreme risk categories and 5 jobs (71%) with high-risk categories and no jobs with moderate and low risk levels. However, after controlling, there are no more jobs with extreme risk and high-risk levels, there are only 2 jobs (29%) with moderate risk and 5 jobs (71%) with low risk. Proposals given to carry out risk control are through affirming the work system and field work flow standards, improving the system, improving the control system through administration, developing human resources and improving the control system through engineering and PPE.

Abstract

Employees who break the rules have a negative impact on the quality of the products they produce. They may also not finish their work, be disinterested in cooperating with others, enjoy gossip, arrive late or skip work, get into arguments with coworkers, or steal company property without authorization. Defects were discovered as a result of workers' reduced focus on production quality as a result of goal pressure. This research aims to ascertain how employee discipline, performance, and both employee and performance discipline affect product quality, as well as the outcomes of using the Fishbone Diagram approach to investigate product quality. Fishbone diagrams and multiple linear regression analysis techniques are used in this quantitative study design. The study's findings indicate that there are factors that affect product quality and cause problems with performance and discipline, including man, material, method, machine, and environment factors. Additionally, there is a positive and significant relationship between employee performance and discipline on product quality at PT Siix Electronics Indonesia. These findings are in addition to the finding that there is a positive and significant relationship between employee performance and discipline on product quality at PT Siix Electronics Indonesia.

Abstract

The redesign of storage facilities for tempe products at UKM Tempe Titik 2 using the Computerized Relative Allocation of Facilities Technique (CRAFT) is explored in this study. Facing challenges of inadequate storage space and disorganized product management, this research employs CRAFT to optimize storage layout considering factors such as distance, storage capacity, and operational efficiency. Data gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation analysis are analyzed using CRAFT to design an optimal storage facility. Results indicate significant improvements in storage efficiency and effective reduction in handling costs with the implementation of CRAFT. This study contributes to enhancing efficient storage facility design practices in SMEs, particularly in tempe production contexts.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry's growing competition demands efficient supply chain management to maintain a competitive edge. An integrated supply chain reduces costs, removes barriers, and ensures fast, accurate product distribution. Supplier relationships and adherence to Supplier Terms of Use (TOU) are crucial for optimization.This study focuses on supplier selection for PT Flextronics Technology Indonesia, a Batam-based semiconductor manufacturer established in 1991. As a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain, the company supports industries like electronics and industrial equipment.Using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), the research prioritizes supplier selection criteria: Accuracy, Delivery Accuracy, Flexibility, Cost, and Responsibility. AHP results show Oshiba Technology Sdn Bhd as the top supplier with a 28% priority score, followed by Flextronics International Ireland Ltd at 21%. Meanwhile, TOPSIS evaluates supplier performance, identifying Flextronics International Ireland Ltd as the closest to the ideal solution (0.651).The findings highlight that while Oshiba ranks highest in strategic priority, Flextronics International Ireland Ltd excels in operational performance, reflecting alignment between qualitative and quantitative assessments.

Abstract

The study purpose was to design an ergonomic and efficient assistive tool for moving PV Modules during the installation of solar power plants (PLTS) at PT Indonesia Prima Energi to improve work productivity and safety. Materials and methods included problem identification, data collection through direct observation and interviews with workers, literature review, and design using SolidWorks software combined with the Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) approach. Results showed that the assistive tool reduced the average PV Module handling time from 5.14 minutes to 3.16 minutes per unit, increased productivity by 62%, lowered labor requirements, and significantly decreased operational costs. Conclusions drawn indicate that the designed assistive tool effectively enhances the installation process by speeding up work, improving safety, and supporting sustainable renewable energy development.
