Abstract

Rice husk biomass can be converted into renewable energy. Energy can be obtained by burning biomass directly, pyrolysis (without oxygen), or gasification (with limited oxygen) to produce liquid or gas fuel. Gasification is burning solid fuel in a gasifier container to produce gaseous fuel (syngas). This research was conducted by varying the mass of rice husk fuel to the gas produced by gasification. This study aimed to determine the effect of the mass of rice husk fuel on gas from gasification and the effect of gas from gasification of rice husk combustion on thermal efficiency. The results of the combustion of the gasification furnace show that the more rice husk mass, the more gas will be produced. Based on the thermal efficiency calculation results, a mass of 5 kg rice husk becomes 302.69%, and a mass of 10 kg rice husk becomes 250.75%, while a mass of 15 kg rice husk becomes 129.38%.

Abstract

(kipas buang) 1,5 m/s (konstan).

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in minerals (mining), and iron sand is a source of magnetic material. The tool usually used in iron sand processing is the Shaking Table, a vibrating sieve mechanism that is generated by the force in the rotation of the driving motor for minerals such as metal and sand. This research aims to determine the rotation of the driving motor to obtain good material sieving results. From the test results of 3 kg of iron sand material, the best results were obtained at a rotation of 28.4 Rpm with the result of sieving material in the concentrate category as much as 0.55 kg and in the tailings category as much as 2.45 kg. The greater the pulley ratio, the slower the rotation that occurs on the wheel piston. On the other hand, the smaller the diameter of the pulley, the faster the piston wheel rotates to move the deck-shaking table. This occurs in accordance with the concept of moment of force, the pulley and axle are concentric wheels.

Abstract

Fossil fuels such as coal still dominate as fuel for power plants worldwide. Using fossil fuels in most power plants can increase greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which affect climate change. Biomass is a renewable energy source expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The use of biomass energy sources as a mixture of fossil fuels, known as co-firing in power plants, has been widely done to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. This research will review the influence of biomass mixture on the efficiency of coal power plant boilers. The mixture's composition and the type of biomass used will significantly affect the Boiler's efficiency. The percentage of biomass composition, as well as the proper combustion settings, will be able to produce optimal boiler efficiency. The study in this research is expected to provide an overview of the performance of a power plant that performs co-firing so that in addition to getting the benefits of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, good boiler efficiency is also obtained.

Abstract

Mini power plants certainly need water energy as the main ingredient. Although the source of electrical energy is already quite large in Indonesia, but in the countryside it is not fully able to enjoy it, many we often find along rural roads, especially in rice fields with very minimal lighting available. The use of water as irrigation of course we can also use as a hydroelectric power plant on a small scale, by utilizing the existing water flow we can make small-scale power generation equipment that adjusts the amount of irrigation water flow of rice fields. Therefore, the results of research on making mini hydroelectric power plants with the VDI 2222 method for street lighting in rice fields can be useful in the community. This tool has the same principle

Abstract

Waste is anything that is no longer used from all human activities, where, if not managed properly, it can hurt the surrounding community, including waste dumped into water channels such as rivers, which carry the waste to the sea and pollute the sea. Plastic waste is included in it. The amount of this waste continues to increase over time. The use of equipment made of plastic because it is light, unbreakable, flexible, practical, economical, and can replace the function of other items, such as use for drinking water packaging, food containers, and others, encourages increased production of plastic waste. Skills are needed in processing and converting this plastic waste into goods that have economic value and are helpful, especially for residents who live around rivers and coastal areas, including on the coast of Muara Abu Beach, West Oesapa. Therefore, this service aims to provide practical solutions by providing skills to women on the coast of Muara Abu Beach who have a profession as scavengers who join PKH Kasih Dua RT. 001/RW 001, Oesapa Barat Village, Kupang City, to implement waste bank management and plastic waste processing techniques that cannot be deposited into the waste bank, namely with a plastic waste shredder machine, so that residual waste has economic value. The implementation of community service using interview and training methods related to waste bank management and the use of plastic waste shredder machines. The pre-test and post-test results of community service participants showed that 65% of the participant's knowledge of the activity material was an essential reason for the sustainability of similar programs for other community environments. It is hoped that activities like this can provide solutions to problems related to waste around the partner's residence.

Abstract

Renewable energy development is increasingly important to anticipate the limited use of fossil energy and its impact on the environment. The Savonius turbine is a vertical axis turbine that can utilize flow from all directions with simple construction, so it has the potential to be developed as a wind turbine and hydrokinetic to generate electricity. This paper aims to conduct an experimental studied the same Savonius combined blade rotor as a wind turbine used in a wind tunnel and a hydrokinetic turbine in an irrigation channel. The experimental results show that the Savonius turbine can function well as a wind and hydrokinetic turbine. The Savonius combined blade turbine improves the performance of conventional Savonius blade turbines, including its use as a hydrokinetic turbine, which is affected by flow velocity. The performance of the Savonius turbine is indicated by the power coefficient Cp and torque coefficient (Ct) values based on the fluid flow velocity. At the same wind speed (4 m/s), the combined blades can increase the performance Cp by up to 11% compared to conventional blades. The use of the same combined blades tested as a hydrokinetic turbine resulted in an increase in Cp and a decrease in Ct with an increase in tip speed ratio (TSR).

Abstract

Community Health Centers are the front guard in providing health services to the community, where the government has designated them as First Level Health Facilities (Level 1 Health Facilities) which are the reference for obtaining health insurance at the next level (Hospital).  Therefore, community health centers must provide the best services and complete education, so that the goals of public health can be achieved.   Occupational Health and Safety is an important element in protecting ourselves both from the service provider side (employees/staff) and from the service recipient side (patients/community).  Occupational Health and Safety itself consists of several elements that must be understood, including: Occupational Diseases, Personal Protective Equipment, Psychology and Ergonomics, Comfort (Noise and Vibration), Dangers (Mechanical and Electrical) and ultimately can be intertwined in the Safety Management System and Occupational Health.  All of these things have not been fully realized and applied in everyday life, even in health facilities. With this activity, it is hoped that the implementation of good Occupational Health and Safety will automatically increase the health figures of the community itself.
