Abstract

Bioethanol is one of the renewable energies that can be used as fuel. Ethanol produced from palm sap can be used to mix fuel oil (BBM) into gasohol (energy mixed) which marks green fuels era begin. This research was conducted by burning a mixture of Bioethanol (105 ml, 120 ml, 135 ml, 143 ml) and Premium (45 ml, 30 ml, 15 ml, 7 ml), to determine the effect of adding Premium into bioethanol on temperature and flame color. The combustion process is carried out by premixed, in which a mixture of bioethanol and premium is heated to produce steam. This steam will be given a spark to produce combustion of the mixture. After the steam burns and produces a fire, then the air flow rate is regulated until the fire is blow-off. The results of the study indicate that, if the composition of bioethanol in the fuel is increasing, the flame looks bluer and the equivalence ratio value becomes smaller. In addition, the temperature reached at point 1 is higher than point 2. This indicates that point 1 is the final combustion zone, which is where the fuel has been burned completely

Abstract

Bioethanol is a renewable energy that can be used as an alternative fuel. Bioethanol is alcohol produced from plants by using microorganisms through a fermentation process. This study aims to determine and analyze the combustion characteristics of premixed bioethanol from Lontar (Borassus Flabellifer), including: temperature, flame height and flame color. The research method uses a variety of air to be inserted, starting from 0 ml/min air flow to blow off in multiples of 50 ml/min. From the results of research that has been done, it shows that in premixed combustion the more air volume is given, the more blue the color of the flame will be, the temperature of the fire will increase and the height of the fire will be lower

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan solar murni ke dalam FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) pada proses pembakaran premixed, terhadap perubahan temperatur api dan warna nyala api. Percobaan dilakukan dengan membakar campuran minyak FAME dan minyak solar murni, dengan persentasi FAME dan solar murni sebesar 70%:30%, 80%:20%, 90%:10%, dan 95%:5%. Hasil pengujian pembakaram premixed dari campuran ini kemudian diamati warna nyala apinya dengan bantuan camera digital dan temperatur nyala apinya pada 2 titik, yang mana diukur secara langsung dengan menggunakan termokopel. Equivalence ratio pada pembakaran ini dihitung untuk semua komposisi campuran FAME dan minyak solar. Dari data hasil penelitian dan analisis, dapati bahwa semakin kecil equivalence ratio maka temperatur api akan meningkat. Hal ini terjadi karena udara yang ditambahkan dalam proses pembakaran tercampur sempurna dengan bahan bakar, sehingga kalor yang dihasilkan semakin besar dan juga temperatur semakin meningkat. Selain itu juga dapat terlihat bahwa temperatur pada titik 1 lebih tinggi dari pada titik 2. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa titik 1 merupakan zona pembakaran akhir, dimana bahan bakar telah terbakar habis. Warna nyala api juga akan menjadi semakin biru ketika equivalence ratio semakin kecil.

Abstract

Currently, natural fiber composites have become the main choice for several industrial applications in the world. The strength of natural fibers such as hemp is based on laboratory results of mechanical strength testing which show that hemp has very suitable properties as a reinforcing composite for prosthetic socket materials. The tensile test is a mechanical stress-strain test that aims to determine the strength of a material against tensile forces. In the test, the test material is pulled until it breaks. Tensile testing is carried out to look for stress and strain (stress-strain test). From this test, we can know some of the mechanical properties of materials that are needed in engineering design. The results of research conducted on the study of the effect of KOH treatment on the tensile strength of hemp fiber composites show three things. First, the highest tensile stress value in hemp fiber was found in the 2% KOH treatment with a long soaking time of 2 hours with a value of 25.3 MPa. Second, the lowest tensile strain value in hemp fiber was found in the 6% KOH treatment with a long soaking time of 2 hours with a value of 0.1%. Third, the highest modulus of elasticity in hemp fiber was found in 6% KOH treatment with a 1-hour soaking time with a value of 47.1 MPa

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of media variations of 90% kusambi charcoal and 10% Plastic is a component that is difficult to separate from everyday human activities because of the various advantages it has. The more people consume, the more plastic waste they produce. To overcome this, of course, a way is needed to process the plastic waste into things that are more useful and also have benefits for nature, one way is by recycling the plastic waste into fuel, namely fuel in the form of oil. The benefit of this research is to produce fuel oil products from Polypropylene (PP) plastic waste as an alternative energy source by utilizing pyrolysis technology. Pyrolysis is a process for converting Polypropylene (PP) plastic waste into liquid fuel. The end result of this research is in the form of detailed images of the tool, the design of the tool, and the results of the testing process on the tool in the form of data on the quantity of oil in each test

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in minerals (mining), and iron sand is a source of magnetic material. The tool usually used in iron sand processing is the Shaking Table, a vibrating sieve mechanism that is generated by the force in the rotation of the driving motor for minerals such as metal and sand. This research aims to determine the rotation of the driving motor to obtain good material sieving results. From the test results of 3 kg of iron sand material, the best results were obtained at a rotation of 28.4 Rpm with the result of sieving material in the concentrate category as much as 0.55 kg and in the tailings category as much as 2.45 kg. The greater the pulley ratio, the slower the rotation that occurs on the wheel piston. On the other hand, the smaller the diameter of the pulley, the faster the piston wheel rotates to move the deck-shaking table. This occurs in accordance with the concept of moment of force, the pulley and axle are concentric wheels.

Abstract

This article illustrates preparation of your paper using MS-WORD. Papers should not be numbered The rotor bar is part of the candlenut breaker tool that separates the candlenut flesh from the shell. On the rotor there is a candlenut seed intake groove which is adjusted to the size of the candlenut seed. These grooves will carry the candlenut seeds to rotate and collide the candlenuts on the wall of the stator bar which is attached to a wooden board as a support for grinding the candlenut seeds. The distance between the rotor and the wall must be adjusted in such a way as to get the desired results.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama waktu pemanasan terhadap kadar alkohol moke dengan sistem destilasi sederhana. Bahan baku destilasi menggunakan nira siwalan ( Borassus flabellifer linn ). Pengujian alat destilasi pada penelitian menggunakan suhu destilasi 78°C dengan variasi lama waktu pemanasan yaitu 2 jam 3 jam dan 4 jam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu pemanasan yang lama dapat berpengaruh terhadap kadar alkohol yang diperoleh. Semakin lama waktu pemanasan kadar alkohol yang diperoleh semakin rendah. Kadar alkohol moke yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini dengan variasi lama waktu pemanasan yaitu 30% dengan lama waktu pemanasan 2 jam, 30% dengan lama waktu pemanasan 3 jam, dan 28% dengan lama waktu pemanasan 4 jam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk perancangan sistem instalasi perpipaan irigasi tetes pada lahan pertanian budidaya tanaman hortikultura yang dilakukan pada lahan terbuka dengan ukuran 40x80 meter dengan Sumber air untuk penyiraman tanaman holtikutura pada lahan terbuka adalah bak penampung air dengan ukuran 12x8 meter. tujuan penelitian adalah untuk merancang sistem instalasi perpipaan pada jaringan irigasi tetes pada lahan pertanian budidaya tanaman hortikultura. Perancangna ini mengunakan metode perancangan, Metode perancangan dibutuhkan untuk memudahkan perancang untuk merancang dan mengembangkan rancangan. Tahapan-tahapan pada metode rancangan mulai dari pencarian ide rancangan kemudian mencari permasalahan dan tujuan dari rancangan itu. Perancangan system irigasi tetes ini menggunakan dua mode operasi yaitu system tower dan system pompa. System tower memompa air dari bak penampung ke tower kemudian di teruskan ke system jaringan secara bergilir ke masing-masing Jalur A, Jalur B dan Jalur C. Dari hasil analisis yang diperoleh untuk kebutuhan daya dengan menggunakan system tower yaitu 112,5025 W, Sedangkan system pompa tanpa melalui tower yang dapat dioperasikan secara bersamaan kesemua jalur maupun secara terpisah ke Jalur A , Jalur B dan Jalur C. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh kebutuhan daya pompa adalah 350 W Dengan total head 22 m.
