Abstract

Hospital Occupational Safety and Health (K3RS) is a very important part of the hospital. In this study, a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional research design was used. The population in this study were all nurses at Mega Buana Palopo Hospital with a target number of 88 nurses divided into several service units. The sample used in this research was 88 respondents with sampling using total sampling. Data analysis used in this research was using IBM SPSS Statistics 29. Based on the results, the research results show that the significant value of the knowledge (X1) and K3 socialization (X2) variables is smaller than the alpha value (0.00 < 0.05) so it can be interpreted as that K3 knowledge and socialization is related to the implementation of occupational safety and health (K3) among nurses at Mega Buana Palopo Hospital. Therefore, it is hoped that hospitals can further increase the knowledge of nurses in each work unit and carry out outreach regarding information and matters relating to the management process for implementing occupational safety and health (K3). This effort can be carried out by implementing tiered training for nurses and other officers regarding K3 principles, K3 risks and how to control each existing risk or danger.

Abstract

This study discussed the religious attitude and work ethos of coastal communities in the Penggoli (studies on the clumps of Lawatu). The purpose of this study is to determine the pattern of religious behavior and its relationship with work ethic of Lawatu societies. The data were collected through observation, documentation, and structured-interviews. The interviews were conducted in semi-structures by selecting the informant utilizing a purposive sampling technique. The findings showed that: 1) Lawatu societies who live in Penggoli are devout religious believers, but they also still maintain ancestors’ cultures transformed into religious rituals. Many rituals that have become religious traditions are still often conducted by Lawatu societies, for examples: Mabbaca-baca, Massio-sio, and Mammaulu. 2) They have lives principles in running their activities, especially in civic lives and subsistences. The principles are in the forms of Mabbulo Sibatang, Pakkareso, Mapanre Lima, Sipakatongeng.

Abstract

Background: Quality health services are a basic need and expectation for all individuals seeking care. Health facilities are expected to meet patient expectations through service delivery. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate health service quality based on accreditation implementation across five dimensions responsiveness, assurance, tangibility, empathy, and reliability and their effect on patient satisfaction. Methods: A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted at the Teminabuan Health Center, South Sorong Regency. A total of 92 patients participated, and data were collected using a structured questionnaire assessing satisfaction across the five service quality dimensions. Results: Partial analysis showed that assurance and tangibility significantly influenced patient satisfaction (p < 0.05), while responsiveness, empathy, and reliability did not (p > 0.05). The F-test indicated a significant simultaneous effect of all five dimensions on satisfaction (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Conclusion: The five dimensions of service quality collectively impact patient satisfaction at Teminabuan Health Center. However, assurance and tangibility were the only dimensions with a significant partial effect. These findings highlight the need to strengthen specific service aspects to enhance overall patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Abstract

Airway remodeling is a major challenge in the management of uncontrolled allergic asthma, despite standard therapy with a combination of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) and long-acting bronchodilators (LABA). Increased levels of Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) are thought to play a role in this process, and the 4G/5G polymorphism in the PAI-1 gene is one of the genetic factors that affect it. This study aimed to analyze the association between the 4G/5G PAI-1 genetic polymorphism and uncontrolled allergic asthma. A case-control study was conducted at Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital between January-March 2024 on 40 patients with allergic asthma and 40 non-asthmatic subjects. Diagnosis was made through prik test (+), bronchodilator test (+), and asthma control classification according to GINA criteria. All asthmatic patients received Budesonide-Formoterol therapy for 4 weeks. PAI-1 levels were measured and 4G/5G polymorphism was analyzed by RT-PCR. Results showed that PAI-1 levels were significantly higher in uncontrolled asthma patients and in individuals with the 4G/4G genotype compared to non-4G/4G (2.38 ± 0.770 vs 1.65 ± 0.714; p=0.001). The 4G/4G genotype was more common in uncontrolled asthma (OR: 5.8) and was associated with the risk of severe obstruction (OR: 11.6). Thus, it was concluded that the 4G/4G genotype in the PAI-1 gene is associated with increased PAI-1 levels, risk of uncontrolled allergic asthma, and more severe degree of airway obstruction. The implication of the results shows that genetic testing of PAI-1 has the potential to be a predictive biomarker in personalized asthma therapy strategies. This approach can help clinicians identify high-risk patients and tailor interventions early and effectively to prevent remodeling and reduce long-term morbidity.
