Abstract

Indonesia has many endemic butterfly species and there are about 2,000 species found in Indonesia from 17,500 species of butterflies in the world. This research was conducted for five months from January to May 2017 at Cibodas Botanical Garden of Cianjur Regency, West Java. Technique of taking data is done by butterfly captured directly by insect net in each observation point. The observation of butterflies in the three locations of Sakura Park, Guest House and Fountain at Cibodas Botanical Garden found 98 individuals from 21 species consisting of 4 families, among others Papilionidae (4 species), Nymphalidae (12 species), Pieridae ( 4 species), and Lycaenidae (1 species). At the location of Sakura Park has the highest index value, among others, the species diversity index (H '= 1.92) is moderate, the species richness index (R = 3.51), and the dominance index (C = 0.27), while the species evenness index highest at the Fountain location (E = 0.87). Students are rarely invited to visit KRC to learn directly.

Abstract

Mayoritas masyarakat Desa Gekbrong sebagai petani yang masih menggunakan penyiraman secara manual sehingga biaya pengeluaran tenaga kerja cukup tinggi setiap bulannya. Selain itu, penggunaan air, unsur hara dan listrik juga boros. Oleh karena itu, pemasangan alat penyiraman otomatis diharapkan dapat menekan pengeluaran biaya dan meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2024 di Kelompok Tani Gede Harepan, Desa Gekbrong, Kabupaten Cianjur. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan merancang, memasang dan melakukan pelatihan kepada masyarakat dalam penggunaan alat penyiraman otomatis. Penerapan alat penyiraman otomatis tanaman hortikultura berbasis panel surya beroperasi secara konsisten pada interval waktu yang telah ditentukan sebanyak dua kali yaitu pada pukul 08.00 dan 11.00 WIB, sekali penyiraman selama 10 menit secara bersamaan. Penggunaan alat penyiraman otomatis ini berdampak pada efisiensi waktu dan tenaga kerja. Dari segi produktivitas, tanaman hortikultura yang menggunakan sistem penyiraman otomatis ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman menjadi lebih baik dan hasil panen tanaman hortikultura dapat meningkat hingga 15-20% dibandingkan tanaman yang disiram secara manual.Abstract. The majority of the Gekbrong Village community as farmers who still use manual watering so that the cost of labor expenditures is quite high every month. In addition, the use of water, nutrients and electricity is also wasteful. Therefore, the installation of an automatic watering device is expected to reduce expenses and increase crop productivity. This activity was carried out in October 2024 at the Gede Harepan Farmer Group, Gekbrong Village, Cianjur Regency. This activity was carried out by designing, installing and conducting training to the community in the use of automatic watering tools. The application of automatic watering tools for horticultural crops based on solar panels operates consistently at predetermined time intervals twice at 08.00 and 11.00 WIB, once watering for 10 minutes simultaneously. The use of this automatic watering device has an impact on time and labor efficiency. In terms of productivity, horticultural crops that use this automatic watering system are expected to increase plant growth to be better and the yield of horticultural crops can increase up to 15-20% compared to plants that are watered manually.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Capung merupakan kelompok serangga yang digolongkan ke dalam ordo odonata. Capung memiliki bentuk morfologi yang unik dan menarik. Badan dan sayapnya memiliki warna-warni yang dapat memikat mata. Perbedaan warna-warni serta bentuk morfologi pada capung disebabkan adanya perbedaan keadaan habitat, sehingga setiap macam habitat akan memengaruhi keanekaragaman jenis capung di dalamnya. Blok Legok Majalaya di Resort Sarongge merupakan salah satu habitat yang berpotensi sebagai habitat capung. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis capung yang terdapat di Blok Legok Majalaya, yang sekaligus dapat dijadikan sebagai bioindikator kualitas lingkungan. Metode: Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2022 dengan lokasi penelitian di Blok Legok Majalaya. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan kombinasi metode jelajah atau survey perjumpaan langsung dengan metode TTLTK (Tangkap Tandai Lepas Tangkap Kembali). Capung yang tertangkap kemudian diidentifikasi menggunakan buku Odonata Semarang Raya (2018) dan buku Serangga Terbang Wendit (2013). Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 5 jenis capung yang ditemukan, yaitu O. sabina, O. pruinosum, O. glaucum, B. contaminata dan P. flavescens. Dengan nilai indeks keanekaagaman shanon-weiner sebesar 1,36 dan indeks kemerataan sebesar 0,34. Kesimpulan: Nilai indeks kemerataan menunjukkan kondisi komunitas tertekan yang menyebabkan adanya dominansi suatu spesies.

Abstract

Sekar Arum Eco-Village is located in Cileungsi Village, Bogor Regency. This group has a mission to maintain and manage the environment in a sustainable manner. The population density in this area has an impact on the increasing volume of waste, including organic waste. This activity aims to increase awareness through socialization and training activities on organic waste management and increase the capacity of organic waste management using BSF maggots that are currently available in the region. The training methods were discussion and hands-on practice. The development of organic waste management using maggot BSF was carried out by building a 3x10 m2 maggot BSF rearing unit with 12 bioponds inside and building a 2x3 m2 BSF fly breeding unit. The average knowledge of the trainees increased by 25% and the highest increase was about the characteristics of adult BSF flies, female BSF and male BSF. The low knowledge of the trainees was on the cycle length of BSF flies, adequate places for laying fly eggs and the preferred conditions for BSF maggots in the pupa phase. The average improvement in trainees' attitudes was 5.5%. However, the attitude scores of the trainees were quite good, with 68.4 before training and 71.9 after training. The highest attitude change value was about understanding waste management using maggot BSF (34.8%). The results of this training are also expected to increase community awareness and reduce organic waste in the Sekar Arum KRL environment and the products produced can add economic value to the community.

Abstract

Community service activities that focus on Character Development Assistance through Biology Learning have been successfully implemented. This program aims to foster students' moral attitudes by integrating moral values into Biology learning and encouraging students to understand and apply values such as caring for the environment, cooperation, and honesty in the learning process. The method of implementing activities in this training is the Participatory Action Research (PAR) Method as a form of counseling that involves the active participation of service participants.  PAR methods can be used to empower participants in the process of change. The results of the activity showed an increase in understanding among both teachers and students about the importance of teaching moral values. In addition, this activity also makes a positive contribution to the formation of students' character. Nonetheless, the authors suggest the need for further evaluation to assess the long-term impact of these activities, as well as the development of more comprehensive and sustainable learning models. It is also recommended that the dissemination of the results of activities to other schools can be felt more widely. This activity is a form of accountability for the implementation of community service programs.
