Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of biology practicum adapted to the kinesthetic learning style of students at Kemala Bhayangkari Private High School and evaluate its effectiveness in improving understanding of biological material. The method used was descriptive quantitative with a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and distributing questionnaires to students of class XI IPA who were selected by purposive sampling. The questionnaire instrument consisted of 25 statements to measure five indicators of practicum implementation, namely problem solving, physical involvement, discussion and reflection, practical activities, and use of tools and materials. The results showed that the level of practicum implementation was in the high category for indicators of problem solving (90.32%), physical involvement (88.41%), discussion and reflection (87.53%), and practical activities (86.45%). Meanwhile, the indicator of the use of tools and materials was in the medium category (77.09%). These findings suggest that practicum tailored to kinesthetic learning styles can support students' active engagement and contribute positively to material understanding. Thus, kinesthetic learning style has a positive relationship with the effectiveness of biology practicum and student learning achievement, so it is important for teachers to design learning that is aligned with the characteristics of this learning style.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based video on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of the human digestive system. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The participants of the study were eleventh-grade students of SMA Swasta Muhammadiyah 10 Rantauprapat. The instruments used in this study included a learning achievement test and a student response questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the t-test. The results show that the application of the Problem-Based Learning learning model with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based videos is proven effective in improving student learning outcomes on the human digestive system material. This is seen from the increase in the average score, the lowest score, and the highest score, and is supported by the results of normality tests, homogeneity tests, and One Sample Tests that show significant differences. The implication of this finding is the need for educators to not only rely on conventional learning, but also combine it with innovative learning strategies or media. The combination of the two is believed to increase the effectiveness of learning and student motivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Kesulitan Belajar Siswa Materi Biologi Berdasarkan Peta Konsep dan Angket di SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Medan Kota. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi  kelas VII yang memiliki nilai tidak tuntas pada materi biologi (nilai di bawah 65) yang tersebar di lima SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Medan Kota, antara lain SMP Negeri 3 Medan, SMP Negeri 4 Medan, SMP Negeri 6 Medan, SMP Negeri 8 Medan dan SMP Negeri 12 Medan. Teknik penarikan sampel yaitu digunakan teknik sampel total berdasarkan ketidaktuntasan siswa pada materi biologi. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah menggunakan instrumen peta konsep dan angket. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan persentase peta konsep dan angket menunjukkan bahwa,  kesulitan belajar siswa pada materi IPA Biologi sub materi pemberian nama ilmiah melalui peta konsep kategori tinggi (66,47%)  dan angket kategori kesulitan sangat tinggi (96,47%), hubungan sel-jaringan melalui peta konsep kategori tinggi (66,23%) dan angket kesulitan belajar kategori sangat tinggi (90,35%), keanekaragaman tingkat jaringan melalui peta konsep dengan kategori tinggi (62,80%) dan angket kesulitan belajar kategori sangat tinggi (86,97%), bagian-bagian sel melalui peta konsep cukup tinggi (60,84%) dan angket kesulitan belajar dengan kategori sangat tinggi (84,12%). Hal ini didukung pula oleh faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa yaitu, kesulitan memahami buku pegangan sekolah (35,76%), penjelasan guru kurang dapat dipahami (25,55%), terlalu banyak bahasa latin  yang tidak dimengerti (15,33%), kurangnya media pembelajaran (10,22%), materi terkesan bersifat abstrak (7,30%) dan kurangnya buku sumber lain (5,84%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan metode Pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada Mengindentifikasi Macam-Macam Gerak pada Tumbuhan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IPA-1 SMAN 1 Panai Tengah sebanyak 4 kelas. Sampel penelitian diambil satu kelas yaitu kelas XI. Pengambilan sampel dipilih secara Random/Acak. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata ketuntasan belajar siswa setelah ujian  pre-tes 44.82 % Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan awal siswa rendah. Berdasarkan hasil uji post tes nilai hasil belajar siswa diperoleh sebesar 89.65%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kelas adanya peningkatan Rata-rata keaktifan siswa sebesar 44.83 %, Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan metode Pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran materi Mengindentifikasi Macam-Macam Gerak pada Tumbuhan pada siswa Kelas XI IPA-1 SMAN 1 Panai  Tengah dengan menggunakan metode Pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan tercapainya kompetensi dasar materi Mengindentifikasi Macam-Macam Gerak pada Tumbuhan pada siswa Kelas XI IPA-1 SMAN 1 Panai  Tengah Saran yang diberikan adalah penerapan metode Pembelajaran berbasis masalah perlu dikembangkan pada konsep lain yang mempunyai permasalahan yang sama

Abstract

This research discusses the design of the E-Encyclopedia of the Order of Odonata as teaching material for junior high school students. This research aims to introduce how to design an E-encyclopedia of the Order of Odonata from Sumatra which can be used as teaching material for junior high school students, especially children aged (13-15 years) in the Sumatra region. The urgency is that junior high school children become familiar with the various types of the Odonata Order from Sumatra so that the identity of the Odonata Order is maintained and maintained. This research is design research consisting of three phases, namely Preliminary research, Prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The design of the E-Encyclopedia of the Odonata Order from Sumatra is an effort to develop media in studying various types of the Odonata Order from Sumatra whose development is viewed from language, material, and media. Through the development activities carried out, an E-Encyclopedia Product of the Order of Odonata from Sumatra was obtained as suitable teaching material.

Abstract

Studies on contemporary scientific education have shown that classroom teaching has an impact on students' use of literacy-deficient practical exercises. Consequently, the existing approach of teaching science is significantly deficient and must be substituted. The objective of this descriptive qualitative research is to assess the effectiveness of the Science Literacy-Based Practicum Method in Science Instruction for seventh grade students at SMP Swasta Bhayangkari 3. The sample for this study consisted of thirty seventh graders from SMP Swasta Bhayangkari. Both teachers and students were provided with a questionnaire to complete, and data was gathered via interviews based on their responses. The results indicate that 19.94% of students demonstrate a strong understanding of scientifically explaining phenomena. Additionally, 8.60% of students are able to evaluate and design scientific investigations, while 9.28% of students understand how to interpret data and evidence. According to the findings of this research, integrating a practicum focused on literacy into the learning process is an effective method for promoting student performance and attaining learning goals.

Abstract

The problem of school-age children engaging in smoking is becoming an increasingly worrying issue. This phenomenon not only threatens children's physical and mental health, but also has implications for their academic performance and future. Moral knowing as an initial aspect to shape the character of students. This study aims to analyze the level of moral knowing of junior high school students about smoking. This study is a qualitative research conducted at SMPN 2 North Rantau, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research subjects were teachers and students of SMPN 2 North Rantau totaling 110 students. Sampling technique using purposive sampling with case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations and questionnaires. The results showed that the highest rate was in the Perspective taking indicator of 28%, followed by the Moral reasoning indicator of 25%, the Self knowledge indicator of 20%, the knowing moral value indicator of 15%, the decisions making indicator of 8% and the Moral knowing indicator of 4%. These findings indicate that moral knowledge (moral knowing) has an important role in shaping adolescent behavior, including smoking behavior
