Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role and strategies of school committees in improving educational quality at SMAN 1 Punduh Pedada. School committees hold a strategic position as key stakeholders in participatory and accountable educational management; however, their role is often still administrative rather than strategic. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving principals, teachers, committee members, and parents. The findings show that the school committee has performed its roles as an advisory, supporting, controlling, and mediating agency, but these roles have not been fully optimized. Committee involvement in decision-making remains limited and tends to occur only at the final stage. Supporting factors include institutional support and community participation, while inhibiting factors include limited human resource capacity, weak coordination and communication, and the absence of structured strategic planning. The strategies implemented are still adaptive and not yet systematic, although they reflect collaborative efforts with the school. Therefore, optimizing the role of school committees requires strengthening strategic planning, improving stakeholder capacity, and enhancing communication systems to support sustainable educational quality improvement

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 83 Krui Pesisir Barat, caused by conventional teaching models that are monotonous and fail to engage student activity. This study aims to: (1) describe the implementation of the Probing-Prompting learning model; (2) analyze PAI learning outcomes after implementing the model; and (3) examine the effect of the Probing-Prompting model on PAI learning outcomes. A quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design (nonequivalent control group) was employed. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students (64 students), with class IV A as the control group (21 students) and class IV B as the experimental group (21 students), selected using cluster sampling. The instrument was a validated multiple-choice test (10 valid items, reliability 0.680). Data analysis techniques included normality test (Shapiro-Wilk), homogeneity test (Levene), and hypothesis test (independent sample t-test). The results showed: (1) the implementation of the Probing-Prompting model proceeded well through the syntax of presenting students with new situations, providing guiding and probing questions, and reinforcing material; (2) learning outcomes of the experimental group (post-test mean 81.74) were higher than those of the control group (post-test mean 71.30); (3) the hypothesis test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.002 < 0.05, thus Ha was accepted. This study concludes that the Probing-Prompting learning model has a positive and significant effect on PAI learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 83 Krui Pesisir Barat.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Leadership (PCNU) in Metro City in strengthening Aswaja An-Nahdliyah values and religious moderation. Religious moderation has become increasingly urgent in Indonesia's pluralistic society amid rising radicalism and transnational ideologies that threaten national integration. As the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) bears responsibility for instilling moderate Islamic values to counter extremism. This qualitative field research employed observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with key informants including PCNU administrators. Data analysis was conducted descriptively-analytically. The findings reveal that PCNU Metro City strengthens Aswaja values through three primary channels: structural (formal cadre training: PKD, PDPKNU, PMKNU), cultural (pesantren and majelis taklim), and intellectual (Bahtsul Masail Institute). Actualization manifests in two dimensions: religious dimension through devotional traditions (ziarah kubur, tahlilan) as spiritual expressions, and civic dimension through reinforcing hubbul wathon minal iman (love of homeland as part of faith) and positioning NU as a strategic government partner. The study concludes that comprehensive Aswaja value reinforcement successfully builds ideological immunity against radicalism while simultaneously strengthening national integration.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Islamic Religious Education subjects, which is suspected to be related to the less-than-optimal educational interaction and the implementation of reward and punishment in the classroom. This study aims to analyze the effect of educational interaction and reward and punishment on student learning outcomes, both partially and simultaneously. The research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population consisted of all seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kotaagung Timur, Tanggamus Regency, totaling 52 students, who also served as the sample (total sampling). Data were collected using questionnaires for the variables of educational interaction and reward and punishment, and documentation of scores for learning outcomes. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results showed that partially, educational interaction had a positive and significant effect on learning outcomes (t count = 3.25 > t table = 2.01), as did reward and punishment (t count = 2.98 > t table = 2.01). Simultaneously, both variables also had a significant effect (F count = 39.87 > F table = 3.19) with a contribution of 62% (R² = 0.62). Thus, improving the quality of educational interaction and the appropriate application of reward and punishment can enhance students' PAI learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on student participation in Jumat Religi and Jumat Healthy activities at MA Raudlatul Huda Al-Islamy. Character and health education are essential aspects of shaping quality youth generations. Jumat Religi and Jumat Healthy activities are designed to instill spiritual values and awareness of health importance from an early age. However, student participation levels in these activities often vary, influenced by various factors, including intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consists of 25 students from class X at MA Raudlatul Huda Al-Islamy, with the entire population used as the sample (saturated sampling). Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and validated through validity and reliability testing. Data analysis techniques include multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The findings reveal that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation positively and significantly influence student participation in Jumat Religi and Jumat Healthy activities. Intrinsic motivation contributes more dominantly than extrinsic motivation, indicating that students who have personal interest and awareness tend to participate more actively. Simultaneously, both motivational variables significantly influence student participation. The implication of this research is the importance of balancing intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to enhance student participation in religious and health activities. This study contributes to the development of Islamic education theory, particularly in strengthening student character through non-academic activities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering the habit of congregational prayer and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors at SMPN 4 Abung Selatan, North Lampung. The background of this research is the low participation and consistency of students in performing congregational prayers at school. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques included participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research informants consisted of the school principal, PAI teachers, non-PAI teachers, and students. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation as well as persistent observation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the roles of PAI teachers include: (1) being role models in worship, (2) providing educative advice (mau'idhotul hasanah), (3) implementing educational sanctions, (4) individual approaches and spiritual guidance, and (5) creating a religious school environment. Supporting factors include adequate worship facilities, support from non-PAI teachers, enthusiasm of active students, and consistent habituation programs. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors are low worship awareness among some students, indiscipline in time management, and lack of effective supervision. In conclusion, the role of PAI teachers is central and multidimensional in shaping the habit of congregational prayer, but synergy between the school, teachers, and parents is needed to overcome existing obstacles.
