Abstract

The digital literacy index in Indonesia continues to increase. However, apart from increasing the literacy index, the number of online gender-based violence (online GBV) is in the high category. This research aims to determine the level of digital literacy skills of survivors of online gender-based violence in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This research aims to understand the digital literacy skills of online GBV completers so that it becomes a consideration for related parties in efforts to improve digital literacy skills. This research was studied using 10 digital literacy competencies by Japelidi. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with the research object being eight online GBV editors in the DIY area. The results of this research indicate that participants have not fulfilled the evaluation and collaboration competencies on digital platforms. Participants have not been able to choose the correct content and only follow the opinions of other people (netizens). Participants also have not been able to use their critical powers to initiate communities on online platforms to resolve online GBV problems.

The level of internet penetration and contribution in Indonesia is on the island of Java; the penetration rate is 81.83%, and the contribution rate is 58.51%. Of these internet users, the majority of users are university students (S1/S2). Previous research explained the influence of Facebook social media on deviant teenage behaviour (cyberbullying). The method used in this study is quantitative with a correlational approach because it demonstrates the relationship between variables. The sample of this study included 200 students from Yogyakarta. Hypothesis testing using a t-test is performed to determine the results of the predetermined hypotheses. The t-test results show that in this study, there is a significant influence between digital literacy level and social media use.

Abstract

Silver crafts in Kotagede are one of the cultural heritages that have existed since the 17th century. Based on Yogyakarta City Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2015 concerning the Yogyakarta City Tourism Development Master Plan for 2015-2025, Kotagede has been designated a strategic regional tourism area. However, the number of silver craftsmen in Kotagede continues to decline due to competition with imported casting products, so many craftsmen have switched to other sectors. To increase sales, craftsmen need to expand marketing through online marketplaces. Therefore, this community service activity was held to help silver craftsmen learn to create posts and design sales strategies independently through online marketplaces. This activity was conducted through training on marketing strategies through online marketplaces, held at the Grand Rohan Hotel, Bantul, DIY, on July 27, 2024. The participants in this training were community service partners, namely Haseena Jewelry and ER Prapen, who focused on silver jewelry products. This training presented speakers from practitioners and lecturers at Amikom University Yogyakarta. In addition to training, this activity provides supporting devices for online marketplaces for partners, such as studio lighting, background stands, tripods, and wireless clip-on. These devices can be used by partners to support live online sales activities through the marketplace. From the evaluation results, the partners showed increased knowledge about online marketplaces.

Abstract

This community service program aims to boost the capacity of disabled SMEs in Malang Raya through mentoring in storytelling and product photography as a strategy to strengthen inclusive branding. The activity was implemented collaboratively by Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta (UTY) and Lingkar Sosial Indonesia (Linksos) at the Malang Creative Center, involving disabled MSMEs from Malang City, Batu City, and Malang Regency. The process followed a participatory approach, including planning, training, and evaluation stages. The evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test assessments using 12 indicators of narrative and visual skills. The results showed a notable increase in the average Respondent Achievement Level from 3.63 (Good) before the training to 4.01 (Very Good) afterward. The most significant improvements appeared in photography skills and creating attractive product photos, reflecting participants’ better visual ability to present their products both aesthetically and communicatively. The progress in brand storytelling was moderate, indicating the need for additional mentoring to enhance narrative skills for building a consistent brand image. Overall, this training successfully improved the visual and narrative communication abilities of disabled SMEs participants, fostering more inclusive and competitive branding practices.
