Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease and it is called as a silent killer because this disease is unrecognized by the diabetics. However, when it is already known the complication is occurred. It is recognized by the increase of blood glucose level (hyperglycemia) as the main character of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). This condition causes the increase of the Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in a chronic condition.  Then, insulin resistance is caused by the oxidative stress in fat, muscle and liver tissue. Moreover, insulin resistance produces several oxidative stress mediators including  (TNF- α). This research aims to determine the effect of suweg flour (Amorphophallus campanulatus) on TNF-α level in rats diabetic model. The method used in the research was an experimental laboratory of pre-post control group test conducted in 28 days. The subjects of this research were 25 Rattus Novergicus wistar strains, (P1) positif control (P2), standart (P3) and two treatment groups (P4 and P5). The data were gained by measuring the level of TNF-α before and after receiving the suweg flour enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The data were analyzed by paired sample t-test. This research showed a significant correlation between suweg flour and TNF-α levels (p = 0.000). A significant correlation was discovered in all treatment groups (P4 and P5). The results of this research can be concluded that the administration of suweg flour (Amorphophallus campanulatus) can decrease of TNF-α levels in rats diabetic model.

Abstract

Mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dalam kurikulum merdeka telah berganti menjadi Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial. Melakukan praktik mengajar di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sumber Taman II Kota Probolinggo. Dengan mengambil mata pelajaran IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Dan Sosial) dengan materi Perubahan Wujud Benda. Kelas yang diampuh saat praktik mengajar yaitu Kelas IV A dengan jumlah peserta didik sebanyak 23 orang. Praktikum ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk membantu peserta didik menangkap materi melalui percobaan konkrit yang pemateri lakukan serta meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik dari segi kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor serta mencapai hasil pembelajaran yang diinginkan. Prosedur praktikum meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan evaluasi. Hasil praktikum menunjukkan bahwa penerapan materi dengan cara menggunakan teknik dan metode pembelajaran yang telah tersusun secara sistematis sehingga terpenuhinya tujuan dari proses pembelajaran yaitu praktikum dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengetahuan peserta didik dengan menggunakan motode serta alat dan media penunjang pembelajaran. Peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik nampak setelah praktikum dilaksanakan. Untuk mempermudah proses pembelajaran diperlukannya sarana dan prasarana untuk membantu peserta didik memahami materi yang sampaikan. Serta pembuatan media pembelajaran sebagai alat bantu dalam memaparkan dan menyampaikan materi pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Abstract

Suweg (Amorphophallus campanulatus) is a food ingredient with a low glycemic index that contains phenolic and flavonoid antioxidants, as well as glucomannan. Food intake is a key factor in managing Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic non-communicable disease that can cause various complications.This study aims to determine the hypoglycemic effect of suweg (Amorphophallus campanulatus) flour. This experimental research used 25 male Wistar white rats divided into five groups. The group is normal (N), positive control (K), standard (S), treatment group with suweg flour 1.25 gr/day(P1), and the treatment group with suweg flour 2.50 gr/day(P2). Data was obtained by measuring glucose levels before and after giving suweg flour. Data were analyzed using paired difference tests (paired sample t-test). This research showsThere was a significant difference in blood glucose levels between the group given suweg flour and the positive control (p0.001). Significant correlation in treatment groups (P1 and P2).It can be concluded that administration of suweg flour (Amorphophallus campanulatus) has hypoglycemic activity (p0.05).Keywords: diabetes mellitus, hypoglycemic, suweg (Amorphallus campanulus)

Abstract

Hypertension is a progression of prehypertension due to the accumulation of several non-genetic risk factors (environmental factors) that occur together (common underlying risk factors) or genetic factors or the interaction between the two. Risk factors for hypertension that can be controlled include high sodium intake, lack of physical activity, obesity, smoking, and alcohol consumption, while risk factors that cannot be controlled include increasing age, gender, and a family or genetic history of hypertension. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of Body Mass Index (BMI) and sodium intake in adults with a family history of hypertension in Yogyakarta. This study used a case-control design. Subjects studied were healthy individuals with a family history of hypertension as case subjects (n = 42), and control subjects were individuals without a family history of hypertension (n = 41). Body mass index (BMI) was measured with anthropometry, and sodium intake was measured using a quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Independent Sample T-test and Chi-Square test analyzed the data with a significance level of p < 0.05. The average BMI and sodium intake are higher in the case group than in the control group. There was no significant association between BMI and sodium intake and risk factors of hypertension (p>0.05). Body mass index and sodium intake in the case and control group were not significant differences (p>0.05). The BMI values and sodium intake levels were higher in the group of individuals with a family history of hypertension compared to those without a family history of hypertension, but not statistically significant.

Abstract

Yam (Dioscorea alata L.) is one source of carbohydrates with a low glycemic index. It is useful for controlling blood glucose levels. Yam has high carbohydrate and protein content but low sugar content. This research contributed to compare the sensory characteristics of the yam composite cookies between sugar and stevia sweeteners. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a cross-sectional design. Purple yam tubers were made into yam flour. The composite was made from yam flour and green bean flour (F1=100:0; F2= 80:20; F3= 60:40; F4= 40:60; F5= 20:80) (%w/w). Composites were processed into cookies with sugar and stevia sweeteners. Cookies with sugar and stevia sweeteners tested sensory characteristics to 31 in healthy adults aged 25-35. The results showed that the sensory characteristics of shape, size, color, texture, sweet taste and umami taste of yam cookies with sugar sweetener were not better than stevia sweetener. In contrast, the sub-variables of aroma, taste, and overall sweet potato cake with sugar were better than stevia. This implies that yam composite cookies with stevia sweeteners are healthier, but less desirable.

Abstract

Kesehatan merupakan aspek penting yang perlu dijaga dan diperhatikan oleh setiap individu. Tubuh yang sehat dan bugar menjadi faktor vital yang dapat menunjang kelancaran aktivitas manusia dalam menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari. Seiring bertambahnya usia, beberapa masalah kesehatan secara bertahap bermunculan. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh fase alamiah manusia, yaitu penuaan yang terjadi pada masa pasca dewasa yang ditandai oleh gejala perubahan fisik dan penurunan fungsi tubuh. Masalah-masalah yang sering ditemukan pada masa tua secara umum berupa penurunan daya ingat, kerentanan terhadap penyakit, kekurangan nutrisi, permasalahan psikis, dan sebagainya, fenomena tersebut terjadi di Kampung Cokrodirjan, Kelurahan Suryatmajan. Adapun tujuan dari pemberdayaan pada kegiatan KKN ini yaitu mengadakan program kerja yang diantaranya memberikan fokus yang mengarah pada pemberdayaan kesehatan lansia, yaitu senam Tai Chi dan pemeriksaan tensi darah. Program tersebut dilakukan dalam upaya mencapai indikator successful aging dan mencegah masalah kesehatan yang secara potensial dialami oleh setiap individu lanjut usia. Dalam konteks pengabdian masyarakat, peran mahasiswa memiliki kontribusi penting dalam memicu antusiasme masyarakat Kampung Cokrodirjan, khususnya dalam program ini adalah masyarakat lanjut usia. Metode yang digunakan oleh kelompok KKN 098 dalam program ini adalah dengan penyuluhan, pemeriksaan dini, dan senam bersama. Hasil yang dicapai dari program senam Tai Chi dan pemeriksaan tekanan darah masyarakat lanjut usia adalah meningkatnya kesadaran mengenai pentingnya menjaga kesehatan di masa tua. Selain itu, kebugaran jasmani masyarakat lanjut usia turut terjaga dan meningkat dengan adanya program senam Tai Chi yang juga dimanfaatkan sebagai media interaksi komunikasi dengan masyarakat setempat, sehingga masyarakat lanjut usia juga mendapatkan dampak positif secara tidak langsung dari program ini. Dalam pelaksanaannya, diharapkan program kerja ini dapat menimbulkan keberlanjutan dengan mitra program kerja terkait.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) merupakan penyakit metabolik kronis yang ditandai dengan hiperglikemia (peningkatan kadar glukosa darah lebig dari normal). Prevalensi angka penderita DM yang terus meningkat memerlukan pengobatan jangka panjang dengan menggunakan Obat Anti Diabetes (OAD). Untuk menghindari adanya efek samping jangka panjang dari pemberian OAD perlu pengobatan alternatif diantaranya mengonsumsi kluwih. Biji kluwih memiliki kandungan flavonoid yang dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efek hipoglikemik pemberian ekstrak etanol biji kluwih pada tikus model DM. Rancangan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium berupa pre and posttest control group design pada 24 ekor tikus Wistar terbagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu K1 (normal), K2 (DM), K3 (standar), P1 (100 mg biji kluwih), P2 (200 mg biji kluwih), dan P3 (400 mg biji kluwih). Uji analisis paired sampel t test menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kadar glukosa sebelum dan setelah perlakuan (p < 0,05). Ekstrak etanol biji kluwih (Artocarpus camansi) dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa pada tikus model DM.

Abstract

This research analyzed about Mekaar business development strategy at PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) to find out Mekaar business unit's developmental strategy to improve the living standard of poor people in Indonesia of the customers who have joined it, to find out Mekaar financing business unit (performance) based on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and also to determine business strategies that can be used to develop Mekaar program. This study applies descriptive and SFAS analysis methods. SFAS analysis method is a summary of the analysis of strategic factors obtained based on the analysis results of internal (IFAS) and external (EFAS) factors. One of the results of this study showed the strategies that must be taken include: support for the provision of access to capital, increased penetration of service coverage, employee recruitment as needed, government support through MSME policy, implementation of market research related to customer needs, provision of non- material stimulus for employees, and funding diversification. Based on the conclusion of the study, for the next research, the writer recommends measuring the success of the strategies carried out by the company based on the level of stakeholder satisfaction and the expectations of the people served.

Abstract

The community service activity at SMPN 2 Dringu in Probolinggo Regency aimed to address environmental issues within the school, specifically the frequent waterlogging in certain areas that disrupted activities and posed safety risks. As a solution, the introduction and implementation of Biopore Infiltration Holes (LRB) were carried out at the school. Biopores function to enhance water infiltration, reduce waterlogging, and improve soil quality. This community service activity involved observation, preparation, as well as conducting educational sessions and practical biopore planting by students, with the goal of raising awareness and enhancing capabilities in addressing environmental issues. The results of the activity showed a reduction in waterlogging duration by up to three hours and a decrease in organic waste volume through the use of biopores as compost. The implementation of biopores not only helped mitigate flood risks but also improved the school's environmental quality, supporting sustainability and environmental health.

Abstract

Background: Cigarette smoke contains various oxidative substances that can cause oxidative stress and can cause changes in the lipid profile especially in HDL and LDL. Oxidative stress changes can be inhibited by the administration of antioxidants from sweet orange peel which is expected to improve lipid profile. Objective: to find out the effect of sweet orange extract on changes in HDL and LDL levels.Method: Experimental research with pre and posttest group control design. The subjects were 25 white rats (Rattus novergicus) divided into five groups: negative, positive, dose 1 (37,5 mg / kgBW), dose 2 (75 mg / kgBW) and dose 3 (112,5 mg / KgBW) with each group consisting of 5 rats.Results: Statistic analysis of pretest and posttest HLD and LDL levels showed different mean (p = 0,043) for all groups. The highest difference in HDL levels was in the positive control group (37.55 mg / dL) and the lowest in the negative control group (2.66 mg / dL). The highest difference of LDL level was in positive control group (53,57 mg / dL) and lowest in negative control group (3,26 mg / dL). Conclusion: The results of this study can be concluded that the administration of sweet orange peel extract (Citrus sinensis) can inhibit the decrease in HDL cholesterol and increased levels of LDL in white rats (Rattus novergicus) induced by cigarette smoke.
