Abstract

Introduction: Preeclampsia remains a major cause of maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide, making early risk identification an important component of antenatal care. Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) has been recommended as a simple and cost-effective screening method for predicting the risk of preeclampsia. However, its application in primary healthcare settings remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of MAP-based preeclampsia screening training on midwives’ knowledge of early preeclampsia detection. Methods: A one-group pretest–posttest study was conducted among midwives participating in a MAP-based preeclampsia screening training program. Forty-two midwives attended the training, and 37 who completed both assessments were included in the analysis. The training covered the concept of MAP, accurate blood pressure measurement procedures, MAP calculation, and interpretation of MAP values for identifying women at risk of preeclampsia. Knowledge was assessed using a structured 20-item questionnaire administered before and after the training. Data normality was tested using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, and differences between pretest and posttest scores were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: Knowledge scores improved following the training, with a mean increase of 3.35 points. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p = 0.018), indicating that the training effectively enhanced participants’ understanding of MAP-based preeclampsia screening. The findings suggest that a short structured educational intervention can improve knowledge related to early preeclampsia detection. Conclusion: MAP-based preeclampsia screening training significantly improved midwives’ knowledge regarding early detection of preeclampsia. Incorporating similar training into continuing professional development programs may strengthen early risk identification in maternal healthcare. Further studies with larger samples, control groups, and longer follow-up periods are needed to assess knowledge retention and clinical implementation.

Abstract

Abstrak: Female Athlete Triad (FAT) Syndrome merupakan masalah kesehatan kritis pada atlet wanita dengan prevalensi 40-60%, namun kesadaran dan skrining dini masih terbatas. Pengabdian ini bertujuan mengimplementasikan skrining kesehatan digital untuk pencegahan FAT Syndrome dalam mewujudkan kesehatan holistik atlet wanita. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara hybrid melalui online class dan offline class pendampingan penggunaan skrining digital pada 15 atlet wanita. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui angket respon terhadap fasilitator, skrining digital, dan metode kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan seluruh peserta (100%) menilai skrining digital mudah digunakan dan puas terhadap pendampingan fasilitator. Metode offline class (98%) lebih menarik dibanding online class (89,8%). Namun, 67,3% peserta menilai isi skrining digital kurang lengkap, terutama fitur nutrisi dan fitur kesehatan tulang. Pengembangan ke depan perlu menambahkan ukuran rumah tangga (URT) dan gambar porsimetri pada fitur nutrisi, serta meringkas pertanyaan fitur kesehatan tulang. Studi dengan periode observasi lebih panjang dan sampel lebih besar diperlukan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas jangka panjang.Abstract: Female Athlete Triad (FAT) Syndrome is a critical health issue among female athletes, with a prevalence of 40–60%; however, awareness and early screening remain limited. This community service initiative aims to implement digital health screening for the prevention of FAT Syndrome to promote holistic health among female athletes. The activity was conducted in a hybrid format through online classes and offline classes providing guidance on the use of digital screening for 15 female athletes. Evaluation was conducted via a questionnaire assessing responses to the facilitator, the digital screening, and the activity methods. The results showed that all participants (100%) rated the digital screening as easy to use and were satisfied with the facilitator’s guidance. The offline class method (98%) was found to be more engaging than the online class (89.8%). However, 67.3% of participants rated the content of the digital screening as incomplete, particularly the nutrition and bone health features. Future development should include household portion sizes (HPS) and portion-measuring images in the nutrition feature, as well as streamline the questions in the bone health feature. Studies with longer observation periods and larger samples are needed to evaluate long-term effectiveness.

Abstract

Premenopause is the transitional period that women experience as they approach the end of their reproductive years. This phase begins when menstruation becomes irregular and physical and psychological symptoms arise. These symptoms are referred to as premenopausal syndrome. These symptoms occur two to five years before menopause. Approximately 40% of women were postmenopausal, 40% of whom resided in developing countries where the average age of menopause onset was between 40 and 44 years. Many women lack awareness and knowledge about the physiological changes, nutrition, and physical activity needs during premenopause, leading to increased anxiety as they enter this transitional period. This program aims to evaluate the impact of the CERDIK Program on the knowledge of premenopausal women. CERDIK program includes health checks, reproductive health education, regular physical activity, a balanced diet, adequate rest, and stress management. The program was designed and implemented using the Research and Development method, structured into five sequential stages over six months. The process began with a needs analysis survey of the target community, followed by the collaborative development of the CERDIK educational modules and tools. These materials were then implemented in a series of interactive workshops. The program's effectiveness was quantitatively evaluated through pre- and post-tests measuring knowledge gain and qualitatively assessed via participant feedback sessions to gauge practical utility and satisfaction. These results showed a significant increase in knowledge, with mean scores rising from 47.14 (pretest) to 65.36 (post-test). Beyond improved test scores, the program’s impact on the community included greater health awareness, reduced anxiety about premenopause, and the adoption of healthier lifestyle practices.
