Abstract

AAFI Regional Jayapura is a futsal coaching organization that coordinates youth clubs, but not all coaches and managers have technical competence in injury prevention and rehabilitation, especially the use of kinesio taping. This community service program aims to strengthen the competence of AAFI Jayapura coaches and managers through systematic and applicable kinesio taping training. The method used is an educational-participatory approach through four stages, namely socialization, training, evaluation, and sustainability, which was implemented in June 2026. The increase in participants' understanding was measured through a paired t-test. The results showed a significant increase in the average score from 28.30 (pretest) to 40.90 (posttest) with p<0.05, which indicates an increase in the understanding of coaches and managers regarding the prevention and management of sports injuries using kinesio taping. These results confirm that structured and practice-based training effectively equips coaches and managers with the knowledge and skills to support safer and evidence-based athlete development. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of fartlek and continuous run training and training motivation on VO₂max and leg muscle endurance. This study employed an experimental method with a 2 × 2 factorial design. The population consisted of 26 male students in the basketball extracurricular program at SMA YPPK Teruna Bakti, with a sample of 24 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through pretest and posttest using the beep test and wall sit test, while training motivation was measured using a validated questionnaire. Data analysis used two-way ANOVA at a significance level of α = 0.05, followed by the Tukey test. The results indicate that: (1) there is a significant difference between fartlek and continuous run on vo₂max (F = 29.066, p < 0.05) and leg muscle endurance (F = 6.328, p < 0.05), with fartlek being more effective; (2) there is a significant difference between high and low training motivation on VO₂max (F = 203.664, p < 0.05) and leg muscle endurance (F = 22.578, p < 0.05), with high motivation being more effective; and (3) there is a significant interaction between training methods and training motivation on vo₂max (F = 5.766, p < 0.05) and leg muscle endurance (F = 17.578, p < 0.05). The conclusion is that fartlek combined with high motivation is the most effective in improving vo₂max and leg muscle endurance.
