Abstract

This study aims to dig up information about teachers perceptions about the personality competence of school administration staff at SMK Negeri Payakumbuh in terms of having integrity and noble character, having a work ethic, self-control, having self-confidence, having flexibility, having thoroughness, having discipline, have creativity and innovation as well as have responsibility. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this research is teachers of SMK Negeri Payakumbuh, totaling 454 people. A sample of 86 people was taken using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a Likert scale model questionnaire with five answer choices, that is always (SL), often (SR), rarely (JR), sometimes (KD), never (TP). This research questionnaire has been tested for validity and reliability, then the data is processed using the average formula (mean). The results showed that teachers perceptions on aspects 1) have integrity and noble character with an average score of 4.44 are in the capable category, 2) have a work ethic with an average score of 4.27 in the capable category, 3) self-control with an average score of 3.98 in the capable category, 4) having confidence with an average score of 4.21 in the capable category, 5) having flexibility with an average score of 4.06 in the capable category, 6) has accuracy with an average score of 4.27 in the capable category, 7) discipline with an average score of 3.88 is in the capable category, 8) has creativity and innovation with an average score of 4.10 in the capable category and 9) have responsibility with an average score of 4.17 in the capable category. Thus it can be concluded that the teacher's perception of the personality competence of school administration staff at SMK Negeri Payakumbuh is in the capable category with an average score of 4.15. Based on these results, the authors suggest that the personality competencies of school administration staff at SMK Negeri Payakumbuh in schools are maintained and need to be improved so that they can improve the personality competencies of school administration staff.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the problems found in Student Discipline Development by Teachers at State Vocational Schools in the East Padang District. This study aims to gather information about Student Discipline Guidance by Teachers in State Vocational Schools throughout the East Padang District in terms of exemplary, supervision, sanctions/punishments, and habituation aspects. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The research population was students at State Vocational Schools in the East Padang District, totaling 961 people. A sample of 104 people was taken using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a Likert scale model questionnaire with five answer choices, namely always (SL), often (SR), rarely (JR), sometimes (KD), never (TP). This research questionnaire was tested on 30 people outside the sample in the population and processed using the SPSS 26 program, the results of the instrument were declared valid and reliable. Furthermore, the data is processed by the average formula (mean). The results showed that the teacher's fostering of student discipline in aspects 1) exemplary with an average score of 4.15 is in the good category, 2) supervision with an average score of 3.68 is in the pretty good category, 3) sanctions/punishments with an average score of 3.98 are in the good category, 4) habituation with an average score of 4.21 is in the good category. Thus it can be concluded that Student Discipline Development by Teachers in State Vocational Schools throughout the East Padang District is in the good category with an average score of 4.01. Based on these results, the author suggests that the Guidance of Student Discipline by Teachers in State Vocational Schools in the East Padang District be maintained and needs to be further improved so as to improve the effective coaching of student discipline by teachers.

Abstract

This research is motivated by problems related to the low managerial competency of school principals in managing teachers at SMKNs throughout Pariaman City. The formulation of the problem in this study is how is the managerial competency of the Principal in managing teachers at SMKNs throughout Pariaman City. This study aims to dig up information about the Managerial Competence of Principals in Managing Teachers at SMKNs throughout Pariaman City in terms of the aspects of coaching and professional development of teachers, utilization of teachers, giving rewards/awards, and motivating teachers. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The study population was all teachers at SMKN in Pariaman City, totaling 346 people. A sample of 83 people was taken using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a Likert scale model questionnaire with five answer choices, namely always (SL), often (SR), sometimes (KD), rarely (JR), never (TP). This research questionnaire was tested on 30 people and processed using the SPSS 26.0.0 program, the results of the instrument were declared valid and reliable. Data analysis techniques use the average formula (mean). The results showed that the principal's managerial competence in aspects 1) coaching and professional development of teachers with an average score of 4.53 was in the capable category, 2) utilization of teachers with an average score of 4.39 was in the capable category, 3) giving rewards/awards with an average score of 3.95 was in the capable category, 4) motivating with an average score of 4.11 was in the capable category. Thus it can be concluded that the Managerial Competence of Principals in Managing Teachers at SMKNs throughout Kota Pariaman is in the capable category with an average score of 4.25. Based on these results, the authors suggest that the Managerial Competence of Principals in Managing Teachers in SMKNs throughout Pariaman City is maintained and needs to be increased again so as to improve the managerial competence of principals in managing teachers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan rendahnya semangat kerja tenaga administrasi sekolah di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri se-Kota Pariaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa tinggi semangat kerja tenaga administrasi sekolah di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri Se-Kota Pariaman yang ditinjau dari dari indikator antusias, inisiatif dan senang terhadap pekerjaan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, yang memiliki populasi sebanyak 64 orang tenaga administrasi sekolah. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 41 orang tenaga administrasi sekolah. Dalam penelitian ini instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dengan menggunakan skala likert dengan jumlah soal 46 item. Instrumen pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan lima pilihan jawaban yaitu selalu (SL), sering (SR), jarang (JR), kadang-kadang (KD), tidak pernah (TP). Angket penelitian ini telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, selanjutnya data penelitian diolah dengan rumus rata-rata (mean). Dari hasil pengolahan data didapat bahwa semangat kerja Tenaga Administrasi Sekolah di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri se-Kota Pariaman pada indikator 1) antusias dengan rata-rata 4.26 pada kategori tinggi, 2) inisiatif dengan rata-rata 4.23 pada kategori tinggi, 3) senang terhadap pekerjaan dengan rata-rata 4.20 pada kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa Semangat Kerja Tenaga Administrasi Sekolah di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri Se-Kota Pariaman beradap pada kategori tinggi dengan skor 4.23. Dari hasil yang didapat maka peneliti menyarankan agar semangat kerja tenaga administrasi sekolah dipertahankan serta perlu ditingkatkan lagi.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of the author's observations which show the poor role of the principal as a motivator in public senior high schools in Pariaman City. This study aims to dig up information about Teachers' Perceptions about the Principal's Role as a Motivator in State High Schools throughout Pariaman City in terms of the aspects of Giving Rewards, Providing Examples of Discipline, Creating Fun Working Conditions/Atmosphere and Providing Encouragement to Progress. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of the study were 247 teachers from State Senior High Schools in Pariaman City. A sample of 75 people was taken using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires and the results were analyzed by calculating the mean score. The results showed that the teacher's perception of the principal's role as a motivator in public senior high schools in Pariaman City was in the good category, with an average score of 3.91. Based on these results, the authors suggest that the role of the principal as a motivator in public senior high schools in the city of Pariaman is maintained and needs to be increased so as to increase teacher motivation so that performance becomes efficient and effective.

Abstract

The research aims to obtain information regarding teachers perceptions of planning, implementation,assessment and feedback activities for academic supervision by school principals in stage high school in Pasaman District, Pasaman Regency. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive. The population in this study were all teachers at SMA N 1 and SMA N 2 Pasaman, namely 107 teachers and the sample was 50 teachers ( SMA N 1 ) and 57 Teachers ( SMA N 2 ) using the proportional random sampling method the instrument in this research uses a likert scale questionnaire which has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis method. The result of this research are 1 ) planning obtained 4,45 in the good category, 2) implementation obtained 4,56 in the good category, 3) assessment obtained 4,6 in the very good category, and 4) feedback obtained 4,31 in the good category.
